Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Panzerungsplatte (10) mit einer Dicke, die mindestens 2 mm beträgt, und einer Kantenlängen von mindestens 20 mm, wobei sie aus einem Material besteht, das als wesentlichen Bestandteil Wolfram- Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid enthält. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin eine Panzerung mit einem Träger (12), mehreren solchen Panzerungsplatten (10) und einer dauerelastischen Klebstoffschicht (14), mittels der die Panzerungsplatten (10) mit dem Träger (12) verbunden sind.

Panzerungsplatte
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Panzerungsplatte (sogenannter Add-on Armor) sowie eine Panzerung, mit der Gegenstände, insbesondere Fahrzeuge, gegen die Wirkungen von Beschuss mit Projektilen, Granaten oder Ähnlichem geschützt werden können.
Aus dem Stand der Technik sind verschiedene Ansätze bekannt, um die Beschussfestigkeit zu erhöhen. Beispielsweise sind zusätzlich zu befestigende Panzerungsplatten bekannt, die aus Keramik bestehen. Bekannt sind auch Panzerungsplatten aus einem Verbundmaterial.
Die Aufgabe der Erfindung besteht darin, eine Panzerung zu schaffen, die ein akzeptables Gewicht, möglichst geringe Herstellungskosten und eine hohe Sicherheitsklasse aufweist.
Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist erfindungsgemäß eine Panzerungsplatte mit einer Dicke von mindestens 2 mm und einer Kantenlänge von mindestens 20 mm vorgesehen, wobei die Panzerungsplatte aus einem Material besteht, das als wesentlichen Bestandteil Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid enthält. Die Erfindung beruht auf der Erkenntnis, dass es mit Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid möglich ist, Panzerungsplatten herzustellen, die bei einem noch akzeptablen Gewicht eine sehr gute Schutzwirkung haben und außerdem zu akzeptablen Kosten hergestellt werden können.
Vorzugsweise hat die Panzerungsplatte eine Dicke größer 3 mm, vorzugsweise größer 5 mm und insbesondere größer 10 mm. Bei besonders hoher Schutzwirkung sind auch größere Dicken möglich. Die Abmessungen einer einzelnen Panzerungsplatte sind vorzugsweise vergleichsweise klein. Als optimaler Kompromiss zwischen einerseits einer guten Herstellbarkeit und andererseits einem nicht ausufernden Aufwand bei der Anbringung der einzelnen Platten haben sich Kantenlängen von größer 40 mm herausgestellt. Vorzugsweise liegt die Kantenlänge unterhalb von 100 mm. In einer Ausführungsvariante haben die Panzerungsplatten eine quadratische Form mit einer Kantenlänge in der Größenordnung von 50 mm.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist die Panzerungsplatte ein massives Bauteil, das aus Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid besteht, wenn man von unvermeidlichen Verunreinigungen absieht.
Gemäß einer alternativen Ausführungsform ist die Panzerungsplatte eine Keramikplatte mit einem Gewichtsanteil von Wolfram oder Wolframcarbid von bis zu 20%.
Erfindungsgemäß ist zur Lösung der oben genannten Aufgabe auch eine Panzerung mit einem Träger und mehreren Panzerungsplatten der vorstehend genannten Art vorgesehen, wobei die Panzerungsplatten mit dem Träger mittels einer dauerelastischen Klebstoffschicht verbunden sind. Die Klebstoffschicht dient als mechanische Dämpfung zwischen den Panzerungsplatten und dem Träger, was die Schutzwirkung erhöht. Gleichzeitig ist es möglich, die einzelnen Panzerungsplatten separat auszutauschen, beispielsweise wenn eine von ihnen nach einem Beschuss beschädigt ist.
Die Klebstoffschicht hat vorzugsweise eine Dicke von mindestens 1 mm und vorzugsweise von mindestens 2 mm. Eine dickere Kl ebstoffschicht erhöht dabei die Fähigkeit der Panzerung, bei einem Beschuss Energie zu absorbieren. Die Klebstoffschicht hat gemäß einer Ausführungsform, in einem Schnitt betrachtet, ein wellenförmiges Profil, wobei zwischen benachbarten Wellenbergen Luft eingeschlossen ist. Dies erhöht das Federungsvermögen der Klebstoffschicht.
Die Luft kann sich auf der Seite der Panzerungsplatten befinden. Anders ausgedrückt wird die Klebstoffschicht auf den Träger aufgebracht, wobei dann die Panzerungsplatten auf die Klebstoffschicht aufgebracht werden.
Der Träger besteht vorzugsweise aus einer Stahllegierung, sodass der Träger seinerseits schon eine gewisse Schutzwirkung (Schutzklasse) bereitstellt.
Bei der Klebstoffschicht handelt es sich vorzugsweise um einen Klebstoff auf Silikonbasis. Dieser zeichnet sich durch ein gutes Federungsvermögen bei hoher Klebwirkung und gleichzeitig guter Alterungsbeständigkeit bei Abdeckung eines hohen Temperaturbereichs aus. Die Erfindung wird nachfolgend anhand einer Ausführungsform beschrieben, die in den beigefügten Zeichnungen dargestellt ist. In diesen zeigt:
Figur 1 in einer perspektivischen, schematischen Ansicht eine Panzerungsplatte; und - Figur 2 in einem Querschnitt eine Panzerung mit einem Träger, auf den mehrere Panzerungsplatten mittels einer Klebstoffschicht aufgeklebt sind.
In Figur 1 ist schematisch eine Panzerungsplatte 10 gezeigt, die im gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel rechteckig ist und eine konstante Dicke d aufweist.
Die Dicke d beträgt mehrere Millimeter und hängt von der gewünschten Schutzklasse ab. Für einen Schutz auf dem Niveau STANAG 4 beträgt die Dicke in der Größenordnung von 5 bis 10 mm.
In jedem Fall ist die Dicke der Panzerungsplatte 10 so gewählt, dass die Platte als solche eigenstabil ist.
Die Abmessungen der Panzerungsplatte 10 sind vergleichsweise gering. Bei rechteckigen Platten betragen die Kantenlängen a, b in der Größenordnung von mindestens 20 mm und vorzugsweise in der Größenordnung von 40 bis 60 mm.
Die Panzerungsplatte 10 ist ein massives Teil aus Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid. Zur Herstellung können die üblichen Sinterverfahren verwendet werden, die für diese Werkstoffe allgemein bekannt sind. Abweichend von der rechteckigen Form kann grundsätzlich jede Form verwendet werden, die geeignet ist, um mit mehreren nebeneinander angeordneten Panzerungsplatten eine darunterliegende Fläche vollständig (abgesehen von den Fugen zwischen benachbarten Panzerungsplatten) abzudecken. Beispielsweise können die Panzerungsplatten auch die Form eines gleichseitigen Sechsecks haben.
Die Fugen zwischen benachbarten Panzerungsplatten sollte mindestens 0,55 mm und vorzugsweise mindestens 1 mm betragen, jedoch vorzugsweise nicht mehr als 1 ,5 mm.
In Figur 2 ist der Aufbau einer Panzerung gezeigt, die mehrere der in Figur 1 gezeigten Panzerungsplatten 10 enthält. Die in Figur 2 gezeigte Panzerung verwendet einen Träger 12, auf den die Panzerungsplatten 10 aneinander angrenzend aufgeklebt sind.
Der Träger 12 besteht aus einer Stahllegierung, insbesondere einer hochfesten Stahllegierung, wie sie im Bereich der Panzerung von Fahrzeugen verwendet wird. Auf den Träger 12 sind die Panzerungsplatten 10 mittels einer Klebstoffschicht 14 aufgeklebt. Der die Klebstoffschicht 14 bildende Klebstoff ist ein silikonbasierter Klebstoff.
Grundsätzlich ist denkbar, eine Klebstoffschicht mit einer konstanten Dicke zu verwenden. Wie in Figur 2 zu sehen ist, hat die Klebstoffschicht jedoch, in einem Querschnitt betrachtet, ein allgemein wellenförmiges Profil. Dadurch stehen die Panzerungsplatten 10 lediglich mit den (abgeplatteten) Wellenbergen der Klebstoffschicht 14 in Kontakt. Zwischen den einzelnen Wellenbergen sind „Kanäle" 16 gebildet, die jeweils mit Luft gefüllt sind.
Der besondere Vorteil der in Figur 2 gezeigten Panzerung besteht darin, dass die einzelnen Panzerungsplatten 10 separat ausgetauscht werden können, falls dies notwendig ist. Die Klebstoffschicht 14 gewährleistet eine mechanische Dämpfung zwischen den Panzerungsplatten 10 und dem darunterliegenden Träger, was die Schutzwirkung erhöht.

Claims

Patentansprüche
1. Panzerungsplatte (10) mit einer Dicke, die mindestens 2 mm beträgt, und einer Kantenlängen von mindestens 20 mm, wobei sie aus einem Material besteht, das als wesentlichen Bestandteil Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid enthält.
2. Panzerungsplatte (10) nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Dicke größer 3 mm ist, vorzugsweise größer 5 mm und besonders bevorzugt größer 10 mm ist.
3. Panzerungsplatte (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kantenlänge größer 40 mm ist.
4. Panzerungsplatte (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie eine quadratische Form mit einer Kantenlänge in der Größenordnung von 50 mm hat.
5. Panzerungsplatte nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie ein massives Bauteil ist, das aus Wolfram-Schwermetall oder Wolframcarbid besteht.
6. Panzerungsplatte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie eine Keramikplatte mit einem Gewichtsanteil von Wolfram oder Wolframcarbid von bis zu 20% ist.
7. Panzerung mit einem Träger (12), mehreren Panzerungsplatten (10) nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche und einer dauerelastischen Klebstoffschicht (14), mittels der die Panzerungsplatten (10) mit dem Träger (12) verbunden sind.
8. Panzerung nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klebstoffschicht (14) eine Dicke von mindestens 1 mm und vorzugsweise mindestens 2 mm hat.
9. Panzerung nach Anspruch 5 oder Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klebstoffschicht (14), in einem Schnitt betrachtet, eine wellenförmiges Profil aufweist, wobei zwischen benachbarten Wellenbergen Luft eingeschlossen ist.
10. Panzerung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Luft sich auf der Seite der Panzerungsplatten (10) befindet.
1 1. Panzerung nach einem der Ansprüche 5 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Träger (12) aus einer Stahllegierung besteht.
12. Panzerung nach einem der Ansprüche 5 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klebstoffschicht (14) durch einen Klebstoff auf Silikonbasis gebildet ist.
