Definitions
- the present invention relates to a display device for displaying information on a display and a motor vehicle having such a display device.
- displays for displaying information are usually touch-enabled, that is, by touching parts of an image, the program flow of a technical device such as a computer, a tablet, a navigation device, etc., can be directly controlled.
- Haptic feedback can be used to convey to an applicant the information that his input was successful.
- This haptic feedback can be generated on a coverslip by a controlled excitation. The excited movement is thereby transferred from a display module to the surface of the cover glass.
- the excited movement must be passed over several components away from the excitation source to the surface of the cover glass.
- For a powerful actuator is needed, which is disadvantageous in terms of space, power, quality and cost.
- movements of the excitation source via a display support can be transferred into the instrument panel into it, whereby noise can be caused.
- a display device for reproducing information on a display comprising at least one display module and at least one cover glass, wherein between the display module and the cover glass, a mechanical insulation is arranged, and at least one actuator which is adapted to a movement of the display.
- the mechanical insulation isolates the coverslip and display module from each other by intercepting movement stimulated by the actuator on the mechanical insulation.
- the mechanical insulation can absorb the kinetic energy of the excited movement and damp it.
- the transmission of the excited by the actuator movement thus ends at the mechanical insulation. This also prevents the excited movement from causing noise in the instrument panel.
- the motion stimulated by the actuator results primarily in a movement of the coverslip where a user touches the display and perceives the haptic feedback.
- the display module is not or only very slightly moved by the excited movement. The mechanical insulation is thus achieved that the energy density of the movements on the coverslip is as high as possible.
- cover glass and display module Due to the mechanical decoupling of cover glass and display module also the mass that is to be moved by the actuator, kept low. This in turn means that high excitations with an acceleration of up to 15 g with a low energy consumption are possible.
- the smaller the mass to be moved the smaller the size of the actuator can be, which in many ways has a positive effect on the display device.
- the costs for the actuator and the required power electronics can be reduced compared to the previous solutions.
- the power consumption of the actuator can be reduced and its performance can be improved.
- a smaller actuator also means a smaller space requirement. Especially in the automotive industry, the space requirement plays a major role.
- a lateral movement of the cover glass is generated by the actuator.
- a lateral movement can be perceived by a user particularly well as haptic feedback.
- the movement excited by the actuator can be perceived as vibration by a user.
- the mechanical insulation preferably has a viscous medium, in particular a low-viscosity medium.
- a viscous medium in particular a low-viscosity medium.
- the cover glass can be mechanically decoupled from the display module, in such a way that a relative movement between the display module and the cover glass.
- the viscosity of the medium can influence the strength of the mechanical insulation effect. Ideally, the viscosity is zero or approaching zero. Such values can be realized, for example, with water or air.
- the mechanical insulation has a flexible bonding.
- the bonding has, for example, a gel-like consistency, or is formed as a gel.
- the flexible bonding consists, for example, of a low-viscosity medium and an adhesive.
- the adhesive also has a low viscosity or, together with the low viscosity medium, forms a low viscosity flexible bonding.
- the bonding may include a low molecular weight siloxane.
- the bonding may comprise a silicone or be formed as a silicone gel.
- the cover glass can be mechanically decoupled from the display module.
- the flexible bonding forms, for example, a layer of material which is arranged between the cover glass and the display module and connects the two elements to each other, in particular adhesively bonded. In this case, the bonding allows a relative movement between the display module and the cover glass, if the actuator stimulates a movement of the display.
- the flexible bonding extends over the entire surface over a surface facing the cover glass surface of the display module.
- the bonding ensures reliable attachment of the cover glass to the display module.
- the bonding can also positively influence the reflection properties of the display by filling the air gap between cover glass and display module. This prevents light from breaking at the gap, which significantly improves the readability of the display.
- the display device can be particularly energy efficient, since less energy is required for the backlighting of the display.
- the bonding offers other advantages: it can not penetrate dust and the cover glass does not condense in a humid environment.
- the bonding can also increase the stability of the cover glass.
- the bonding may prevent the coverslip from splitting, For example, in an accident, and so increase safety for a vehicle occupant.
- the thickness of the flexible bonding can be between 0.1 mm and 2 mm, in particular between 0.2 mm and 1 mm.
- the actuator is for example arranged directly on the cover glass and thus directly on the element which is to be excited by the actuator to move.
- the actuator may, for example, be glued to the coverslip or otherwise connected thereto.
- the display device has a plastic frame enclosing the cover glass, wherein the actuator is arranged directly on the plastic frame.
- This embodiment is also very efficient, since only one element, namely the plastic frame, is arranged between the actuator and the cover glass.
- the actuator may be glued or screwed or otherwise secured to the plastic frame.
- the plastic frame may for this purpose have holding elements which have already been formed in the manufacture of the plastic frame, for example by injection molding, on the plastic frame.
- the actuator may comprise an electric motor, an electromagnetic coil and / or a piezoelectric element. Each of these elements is suitable to allow reliable display excitation.
- the display module preferably has a touch display, so that a user can make an input by touching the display device, in particular the cover glass, and can influence the display shown on the display.
- the actuator may encourage movement of the display, which is perceived by the user as haptic feedback. This confirms to the user that his input was successful.
