摺動式等速自在継手2は、外側継手部材21と、内側継手部材22と、8個のボール23と、保持器24とを備える。保持器24の外周面の球面部24bの曲率中心O24bと保持器24の内周面の球面部24dの曲率中心O24dとがそれぞれ継手中心O(s)に対して軸方向反対側に等距離だけオフセットされている。ボール23のピッチ円径PCDBALLとボール23の直径DBALLとの比PCDBALL/DBALLを3.3~3.6とする。内側継手部材22の半径方向の肉厚TIとボール23の直径DBALLとの比TI/DBALLを0.30~0.45とする。
