Definitions
- the present invention relates to a toothbrush.
- the cross-sectional shape of the hair bundles implanted in the toothbrush is a shape other than a circle.
- Patent Document 1 describes a toothbrush that uses bristles having a polygonal cross-sectional shape. And it is known that such a toothbrush is higher in the performance of removing plaque than a conventional toothbrush.
- bristles having a polygonal cross-sectional shape as described in Patent Document 1 are generally less likely to bend than a toothbrush having bristles having a circular cross-sectional shape. For this reason, the toothbrush tip may not easily enter the interdental portion during brushing, and the interdental portion may not be sufficiently polished.
- One aspect of the present invention is a toothbrush comprising a handle portion and a head portion provided at one end of the handle portion, wherein the head portion is a plurality of pedestal portions and planted in the pedestal portion.
- a hair bundle in which the hairs are bundled, the cross-sectional shape of the hairs is a quadrangle having sides of approximately equal length, and the hardness of the hairs is 15 N / cm 2 or more and 40 N / cm 2 or less. It is a toothbrush.
- a toothbrush that can polish the interdental portion well while maintaining the performance of the hair that scrapes off plaque and the like well.
- FIG. 1 is a side view schematically showing the overall configuration of a toothbrush according to the present embodiment.
- 2 shows an enlarged top view of the head portion of the toothbrush of FIG. 1
- FIG. 3 shows a side view of the toothbrush head portion of FIG.
- the toothbrush 1 includes a handle portion 20 and a head portion 10 provided at one end of the handle portion 20.
- the side where the head portion 10 is provided is the front, and the side where the handle portion 20 is provided is the rear.
- the handle portion 20 may include a handle main body 40 that is gripped when brushing teeth, and a neck 30 provided between the handle main body 40 and the head portion 10.
- the head portion 10 includes a pedestal portion 12 having a flat upper surface and a lower surface. On the upper surface of the pedestal portion 12, a plurality of hair bundles (tufts) configured by bundling a plurality of bristles 18 are implanted. Has been.
- the hair bundle includes a tip horizontal hair bundle 14 whose tip is substantially horizontal with respect to the upper surface of the pedestal portion 12 in a side view, and a tip inclined hair whose tip portion is inclined with respect to the upper surface of the pedestal portion 12 in a side view.
- the bundle 15 (the first tip inclined hair bundle 151 and the second tip inclined hair bundle 152) may be included.
- the cross-sectional shape of the hair 18 constituting the hair bundle is a quadrangle having sides with substantially equal lengths. That is, the cross-sectional shape cut in the direction orthogonal to the center line of the hair 18 is a substantially equilateral square.
- FIG. 4 shows an enlarged schematic view of a part of the tip of the hair bundle 14 configured by bundling a plurality of hairs 18.
- the schematic diagram shown in FIG. 4 represents a state in which force is applied during tooth surface cleaning and the hair ends are slightly opened.
- the cross-sectional shape of the hair 18 is a rhombus.
- the hair 18 having a substantially equilateral square cross-sectional shape has a substantially quadrangular prism shape as a whole.
- Such bristles 18 have edges (corners). Specifically, a side ridge line portion 181 is provided at the intersection between the side surface of the quadrangular prism and the side surface adjacent to the side surface. Further, since the tip of the hair 18 has a flat tip surface, a tip ridge portion 182 that is an intersection of each side surface and the tip surface, and a vertex portion 183 that is an intersection of the two side surfaces and the tip surface, Can be provided. By having such an edge, the plaque etc. which exist in a tooth surface can be scraped off favorably, and the tooth surface cleaning effect of a toothbrush can be improved.
- the hair having an edge shape generally has high rigidity and is difficult to bend. For this reason, the hair applied to the ridges may not be able to enter the interdental portion. Further, even if it enters the interdental part, it may move immediately outside the interdental part with the movement of the toothbrush without following the tooth surface of the interdental part.
- the present inventor has made the hair cross-sectional shape a quadrangle having sides of approximately the same length, and the hair hardness is 15 N / cm 2 or more and 40 N / cm 2 or less. It has been found that the hair can be improved (flexed) while maintaining the tooth surface cleaning effect of the hair having an equilateral square cross-sectional shape.
- the bristles can easily enter the interdental part, and the bristles that have entered the interdental part can be made to follow the tooth surface of the interdental part satisfactorily. Therefore, not only the tooth ridges but also plaques between the teeth can be scraped off sufficiently, and as a result, a high tooth surface cleaning effect can be obtained.
- plaque and the like include, in addition to plaque, stains such as colored stains (stain) on the tooth surface and food residues attached to the tooth surface.
- FIG. 5 shows an enlarged schematic view of the cross-sectional shape of the bristles 18 used in the toothbrush of the present embodiment.

That is, the cross-sectional shape of the bristles 18 is a parallelogram in which all sides have the same length, the inner angles of the vertices facing each other are the same, and the inner angles of the adjacent vertices are different from each other.
- the lengths of the four sides may not be strictly equal.
- a quadrilateral having sides with substantially equal lengths means that, for example, the difference in length between the longest side and the shortest side of the quadrangle is 10% or less of the arithmetic average of the lengths of the four sides. It may be a quadrangle, preferably 5% or less, and more preferably 3% or less.

- the hair tip When the hair tip is applied to the tooth surface, the hair can be made flexible (bend), and the hair tip can also reach the interdental portion. As a result, plaque or the like can be sufficiently scraped off at both the tooth surface of the ridge and the tooth surface of the interdental region, and a high tooth surface cleaning effect can be obtained.
- the square may include a vertex whose angle (inner angle) is an acute angle ⁇ .
- the inner angles of the opposite vertices can be made equal.
- the interior angles of the vertices of the quadrangle need not all be equal.
- the acute angle ⁇ is preferably 70 ° or more and less than 90 °, and more preferably 75 ° or more and 85 ° or less.
- the strength and hardness of the hair can be maintained by including the apex whose square is 70 ° or more. Moreover, since it can avoid that an excessively sharp edge is formed, even when the user of a toothbrush applies excessive force and brushes teeth, damage to a gum or an oral cavity can be prevented.
- the lengths of the diagonal lines included in the rectangle may be different. That is, the lengths of the two diagonal lines b and c may be different as in the example of FIG.
- the length of the longer diagonal line b may be 8 mil (about 0.203 mm) or more and 12 mil (about 0.304 mm), or 9 mil (0.229 mm) or more and 11 mil (about 0.279 mm). And preferably 9.5 mil (0.229 mm) or more and 10.5 mil (about 0.279 mm) or less.
- the length of the shorter diagonal line c may be 5.0 mil (about 0.127 mm) or more and 9 mil (about 0.229 mm) or less, and 5.5 mil (about 0.140 mm) or more and 8 mil (about 0.2 mm). 203 mm) or less, more preferably 6 mil (about 0.152 mm) or more and 7.6 mil (about 0.193 mm) or less. Since the cross-sectional quadrilateral has a dimension in the above range, a toothbrush that can easily insert the bristles into the interdental portion while maintaining the tooth surface cleaning effect by the bristle edge can be obtained.
- the ratio of the longer diagonal line b to the shorter diagonal line c can be 2 or less, preferably 1.1 or more and 1.7 or less, and 1.2 or more and 1.6 or less. More preferably.

Abstract
Description
円の直径を、表1に示すように4mil(約0.102mm)、5mil(約0.127mm)、6mil(約0.152mm)にそれぞれ変更したこと以外は、比較例3と同様に構成された歯ブラシを準備した。
