  • the wiping unit 200 includes a slit-shaped passage 270 for enabling communication between two spaces which exist above and below the first and second wiping members 210, 220 (in the present embodiment, a space that is positioned above the first and second wiping members 210, 220 and that is surrounded by the inner peripheral surface 260a of the annular wall 260 of the wiping unit 200, and a space within the package main body 100) in a state in which the applicator main part 320 is present in the wiping area 230.
  • the passage 270 consists of a clearance formed between the first barrier 280 and the first wiping member 210 and a clearance formed between the second barrier 290 and the second wiping member 220.

  • the compressible segment 321 has passed completely through the wiping area 230, excessive formula F that was retained in the compressible segment 321 is removed.
  • the wiping unit 200 functions similarly not only when the applicator 300 is pulled out from the package main body 100 but also when the applicator 300 is inserted into the package main body 100. Therefore, the wiping unit 200 is a "two-way unit" that is equipped to handle movement in both the upward and downward directions of the applicator 300.
  • FIG. 7 illustrates the action of the wiping unit 200 when the applicator 300 is inserted into the package main body 100. As is clear from FIG. 7, the first and second wiping members 210, 220 still cooperatively and progressively press the compressible segment 321 of the applicator main part 320 of the applicator 300 when the compressible segment 321 passes through the wiping area 230 while the applicator 300 is being inserted. If there is formula F that is removed from the compressible segment 321 during this process, this formula F can be returned back into the package main body 100 through the passage 270 of the wiping unit 200 as indicated by the arrow mark.
