Abstract

L'invention concerne : une composition de cristaux liquides qui a une grande valeur d'anisotropie d'indice de réfraction (Δn), une viscosité extrêmement faible, une excellente stabilité au stockage à basse température et une valeur négative d'anisotropie diélectrique (Δε) ; un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides utilisant la composition de cristaux liquides ; et un écran à cristaux liquides équipé de l'élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides. La composition de cristaux liquides, qui a une valeur négative d'anisotropie diélectrique (Δε), comprend un ou plusieurs composés représentés par la formule générale (i) et un ou plusieurs composés représentés par la formule générale (ii). Ri1 et Ri2 représentent chacun indépendamment un groupe alcényle en C2-8 ; Rii1 et Rii2 représentent chacun indépendamment un groupe alkyle, un groupe alcoxy, etc. ; et Xii1 à Xii6 représentent chacun indépendamment un atome d'hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe alkyle en C1-8, etc.
