  • the hand engagement portion may take a variety of forms including a strap attached to opposite sides of the drive housing or a tab that is received between fingers of the user.
  • the drive housing 86 contains electronic circuitry 88 and a battery 92 for controlling and powering the motor.

Motor speed and vibration controls may be placed in similar locations. Of course the separate On" and “Off” switches 94 and 96 may be replaced with a single switch.

  • the stem and/or sheaths may be provided in different shapes and patterns providing alternative stimulation profiles for users.

  • a suppository loading function may be used in conjunction with the device.
  • the stems of the devices of Figs. 2A-3B could be removable and interchangeable so that pre-check and stool removal heads could be used.
  • the embodiments described above therefore enable a user to comfortably perform bowel management virtually anywhere (e.g., on the bed vs. in the bathroom, home vs. public toilet, etc.). They provide a small, discreet device that can be transported and utilized on the go to provide quick bowel stimulation. They also provide more controlled digital stimulation over rudimentary stimulation devices currently on the market. [0045]
  • the embodiments described above offer non-contact methods to promote rectal stimulation as the user does not need to use his or her finger directly to perform stimulation.
  • the embodiments of the disclosure therefore replace manual evacuation and thus remove the need for users to utilize their fingers by providing a discreet and adjustable hand-held stool evacuation device that is easy to use.
  • the embodiments may be utilized on their own or in conjunction with other bowel treatment methods (such as trans-anal irrigation) to check if there is stool remaining in the rectum after treatment.

Abstract

Selon l'invention, un dispositif de stimulation de défécation comprend un boîtier d'entraînement dans lequel un moteur est positionné. Le dispositif comprend de plus une tige dont une partie se situe à l'extérieur du boîtier d'entraînement. La tige est reliée de manière fonctionnelle au moteur de façon à tourner autour d'un axe longitudinal lorsque le moteur est activé.
