Description

단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치 및 그 방법
본 발명은 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로는 직류배전용 단일형 컨버터의 한쪽 극에서 단락이나 과부하 상황이 발생함에 따라 한쪽 극에서 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한을 실시하는 경우에, 다른쪽 극의 출력전압을 정상상태로 유지함으로써, 출력전압의 불평형을 해소하기 위한 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.
최근 들어, 직류 IDC(Internet Date Center), 직류 홈(DC home), 직류 빌등(DC building) 등의 직류 수용가(consumer)가 등장함에 따라, 직류 수용가들은 전력공급회사에 직류배전을 직접적으로 요구하고 있는 추세이다.
이러한 직류배전은 전력절감 기술이다. 즉, 디지털 기술의 발달로 기존의 PC, TV, DVD, 카메라뿐만 아니라 냉장고, 세탁기 등 가전기기 등의 디지털화가 가속화되고 있다. 주택 내에 전력변환(AC-DC)으로 말미암은 전력손실은 20~30%에 달한다. 직류배전은 이러한 전력 변환으로 인한 손실을 줄임으로써 에너지 효율의 향상과 고품질의 전력공급이 가능하게 된다.
그리고 직류배전에는 중전압 직류배전(MVDC:Medium Voltage DC)과 저압 직류배전(LVDC:Low Voltage DC)으로 크게 구분될 수 있다. 특히, 저압 직류배전(LVDC)은 직류부하나 직류전원 연계 시 교류배전계통에 비해 전력변환 손실이 적고 중전압 직류배전(MVDC)에 비해 설치비와 운영비가 적으며 전력변환기를 사용하여 배전전압의 효율적인 제어가 가능하다는 장점이 있다.
한편, 전세계적으로 전력공급회사에서는 직류배전과 관련된 기술들을 연구 및 개발하고 있으며, 현재 우리 나라에서도 실계통에 저압 직류배전 시범선로 구축을 준비중에 있다.
저압 직류배전 시범선로의 공급방식은 단극(monopole) 방식과 양극(Bipole) 방식으로 구성할 수 있다. 이 중 양극 방식은 공급용량과 공급신뢰도를 높일 수 있는데, 각 극을 통해 공급하는 수용가 용량이 다르더라도 안정적으로 전력을 공급할 수 있고, 한 극의 고장이 발생하더라도 건전 극은 정상적으로 직류 전원을 공급할 수 있다.
이와 같이 양극 방식의 계통 구조를 위해서는 직류배전 선로에서 직류전원을 공급하는 AC/DC 컨버터(converter)의 역할이 중요하다. 따라서, AC/DC 컨버터는 각 극을 통해 공급하는 수용가 용량이 다른 부하불평형 상황과 한 극의 고장이 발생한 상황에서도 안정적인 전원을 공급하기 위해, 내부에 2개의 컨버터로 구성된 구조에 대한 연구가 진행중에 있다.
그런데, 실제 선로 현장에 컨버터를 설치하기 위해서는 현장 설치가 용이할 뿐만 아니라, 부피가 작고 경제적인 컨버터가 필요하다. 이와 같은 이유로, 내부에 2개의 컨버터로 구성된 AC/DC 컨버터 보다 내부에 1개의 컨버터로 구성된 단일형 컨버터가 양극 방식의 직류배전 선로용 컨버터로서 바람직하다. 즉, 내부에 2개의 컨버터로 구성된 AC/DC 컨버터의 경우에는 기존의 주상/지상 변압기를 활용하기 어렵고, 3권선 변압기를 다시 설치해야 하기 때문에 현재 배전선로를 대상으로 활용하기 쉽지 않다. 또한, 단일형 컨버터는 경제적이고, 소형화가 가능하며, 양방향 전력전송 및 출력품질이 좋다.
종래의 단일형 컨버터는 부하불평형 상황을 해소하려는 방안이 제시되었지만, 한 극에 고장이 발생하고 보호협조를 위해 전류를 제한하는 경우에 건전 극에 정상적으로 직류전원을 공급하기 어렵다.
따라서, 종래의 단일형 컨버터에서는 한 극에 고장이 발생하고 보호협조를 위해 전류를 제한하는 경우에 정상적인 직류배전을 제공할 수 있는 방안이 제안될 필요성이 있다.
본 발명의 목적은 직류배전용 단일형 컨버터의 한쪽 극에서 단락이나 과부하 상황이 발생함에 따라 한쪽 극에서 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한을 실시하는 경우에, 다른쪽 극의 출력전압을 정상상태로 유지함으로써, 출력전압의 불평형을 해소하기 위한 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하는데 있다.
본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치는, 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 출력전압을 각각 입력받아 출력하는 전원 입출력부; 상기 전원 입출력부로부터 출력되는 출력전압 및 출력전류를 측정하는 출력전압 및 전류 측정부; 상기 측정된 출력전류를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제1 극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극에 대해 보호 협조를 위한 전류 제한 제어를 수행하고, 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 제어부; 상기 양극에 수행되는 제어에 따라 스위칭되는 스위칭부; 및 상기 스위칭부의 스위칭에 따라 상기 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 전달하는 전원 전달부;를 포함한다.
상기 전원 입출력부는, 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 출력전압을 각각 입력받는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터, 및 상기 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 각각 출력하는 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터를 포함한다.
상기 스위칭부는, 상기 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터의 일단에 각각 병렬로 연결되는 제1 및 제4 스위칭부, 및 상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 일단에 각각 직렬로 연결되고 상기 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터에 대해서 각각 병렬로 연결되는 제2 및 제3 스위칭부를 포함한다.
상기 제어부는, 상기 제1 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하고, 상기 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행할 때, 상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 제어부는, 상기 측정된 출력전류를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 제어부는, 상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 제어부는, 상기 측정된 출력전압를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
상기 제어부는, 상기 제2 및 제3 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 방법은, 단일형 컨버터의 양극으로부터 각각 출력되는 출력 전압 및 출력 전류를 측정하는 단계; 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제1 극으로부터 출력되는 출력 전류의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극에 대해 보호 협조를 위한 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 단계; 및 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 단계;를 포함한다.
상기 측정 단계 이후에, 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극으로부터 출력되는 출력전류의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극 및 제2 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 단계를 더 포함한다.

본 발명은 직류배전용 단일형 컨버터의 한쪽 극에서 단락이나 과부하 상황이 발생함에 따라 한쪽 극에서 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한을 실시하는 경우에, 다른쪽 극의 출력전압을 정상상태로 유지할 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명은 단일형 컨버트를 양극 구조의 직류배전 선로에 실제로 적용하기 위해 필요한 기능인 '한쪽 극의 과부하 또는 단락 상황 발생시에 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한 기능'을 적용할 때, 다른쪽 극(즉, 건전 극)에 영향을 주지 않도록 제어할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 직류배전용 정류기의 부피 및 가격 최소화를 가능하게 출력전압을 제어할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 양극 방식의 직류배전 선로에 있어서, 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하더라도 단일형 컨버터의 최종 출력전압을 안정적으로 유지하고 보호협조할 수 있는 기능을 제공할 수 있다.

도 1 및 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이, 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치(이하 "출력전압 제어 장치"라 함, 100)는, 직류배전용 단일형 컨버터의 한쪽 극에서 단락이나 과부하 상황이 발생함에 따라 한쪽 극의 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한을 실시하는 경우에, 다른쪽 극의 출력전압을 정상상태로 유지시킬 수 있다. 즉, 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 실제 계통에서 직류전원을 공급하기 위한 단일형 컨버터에서 보호협조를 진행함에 따라 발생하는 불평형 출력전압을 정상상태의 출력전압으로 제어한다. 즉, 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 단일형 컨버트를 양극 구조의 직류배전 선로에 실제로 적용하기 위해 필요한 기능인 '한쪽 극의 과부하 또는 단락 상황 발생시에 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한 기능'을 적용할 때, 다른쪽 극(즉, 건전 극)에 영향을 주지 않도록 제어할 수 있다.
여기서, 단일형 컨버터는 양극 출력을 갖는 NPC(Neutral Point Clamped) 구조의 AC-DC 정류기(AC-DC Rectifier)이다. 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 출력전압 밸런싱(voltage balancing), 전류제한, 단락보호를 위해 사용될 수 있다.
출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 전원 입출력부(10), 출력전압 및 전류 측정부(20), 스위칭부(30), 전원 전달부(40), 제어부(50)를 포함한다.
전원 입출력부(10)는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 입력단을 통해 입력받아, 입력단으로부터 전달된 출력전압을 출력단을 통해 제1 부하(R1)와 제2 부하(R2)로 출력한다. 제1 부하(R1)에는 출력전류 Io1이 인입되고, 제2 부하(R2)에는 출력전류 Io2가 인입된다.
입력단과 출력단은 서로 병렬로 연결된다. 여기서, 입력단은 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)를 포함하고, 출력단은 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터(Co3, Co4)를 포함한다.
제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)는 단일형 컨버터의 중성점(Neutral Point)을 기준으로 대칭으로 배치되고, 일단이 서로 직렬로 연결된다. 아울러, 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)는 나머지 타단이 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 연결된다. 즉, 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)는 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 출력전압을 각각 입력받는다.
마찬가지로, 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터(Co3, Co4)는 단일형 컨버터의 중성점(Neutral Point)을 기준으로 대칭으로 배치되고, 일단이 서로 직렬로 연결된다. 아울러, 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터(Co3, Co4)는 나머지 타단이 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 연결된다. 즉, 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터(Co3, Co4)는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 각각 출력한다.
출력전압 및 전류 측정부(20)는 전원 입출력부(10)의 출력단 양극에 출력되는 출력전압과 출력전류를 각각 측정한다. 즉, 출력전압 및 전류 측정부(20)는 전원 입출력부(10)의 출력단에서 양극에 출력되는 출력전압(Vo1, Vo2)과 출력전류(Io1, Io2)를 각각 측정하여 제어부(50)로 전달한다.
스위칭부(30)는 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 인가되는 출력전압 상태에 기초하여 스위칭된다. 여기서, 스위칭부(30)는 제1 내지 제4 스위칭부(S13, S14, S15, S16)를 포함한다.
제1 및 제4 스위칭부(S13, S16)는 일단이 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)에 병렬로 각각 연결되고, 나머지 타단이 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)에 직렬로 각각 연결된다. 또한, 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)는 단일형 컨버터의 중성점을 기준으로 대칭으로 배치되고, 일단이 서로 직렬로 연결된다. 즉, 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)에 대해 병렬로 연결된다.
즉, 제1 및 제4 스위칭부(S13, S16)는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)의 일단에 각각 병렬로 연결되고, 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)는 제1 및 제4 스위칭부(S13, S16)의 일단에 각각 직렬로 연결된다.
전원 전달부(40)는 스위칭부(30)의 스위칭에 따라 단일형 컨버터 양극의 출력전압을 부하(R1,R2)로 전달한다. 여기서, 전원 전달부(40)는 제1 내지 제3 인덕터(L4, L5, L6)를 포함한다.
제1 인덕터(L4)는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)에 병렬로 연결되고, 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)에 직렬로 연결된다. 즉, 제1 인덕터(L4)는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터(Co1, Co2)의 연결 지점 사이와 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)의 연결 지점 사이에 서로 연결된다. 제2 인덕터(L5)는 제2 스위칭부(S14)에 병렬로 연결되고, 제1 출력 커패시터(Co3)에 직렬로 연결된다. 제3 인덕터(L6)는 제3 스위칭부(S15)에 병렬로 연결되고, 제2 출력 커패시터(Co4)에 직렬로 연결된다.
제어부(50)는 출력전압 및 전류 측정부(20)에 의해 측정된 출력단 양극의 출력전압(Vo1,Vo2)과 출력전류(Io1,Io2)를 이용하여 단일형 컨버터에서 양극의 출력상태를 확인한다. 여기서, 단일형 컨버터에서 양극의 출력상태는 출력전류의 과전류 상황과 출력부하의 불평형 상황일 수 있다.
먼저, 제어부(50)는 출력전류(Io1,Io2)를 이용하여 출력전류의 과전류 상황을 판단한다. 즉, 제어부(50)는 기 설정된 기준전류와 출력전류(Io1,Io2)를 비교하여 출력측에 과전류가 발생한 상황임을 판단한다.
제어부(50)는 전술한 비교 결과에 따라, 스위칭부(30)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전류(Io1,Io2)의 전류를 제한하는 출력측의 전류 제한 기능을 수행한다. 이 경우에, 제어부(50)는 제1 및 제4 스위칭부(S13, S16)의 스위칭을 제어한다.
구체적으로, 제어부(50)는 양극 모두의 단락 상황이거나, 동일한 조건의 부하(R1,R2)일 때 과전류 상황인 경우에, 출력측의 전류 제한 기능을 위해 제1 및 제4 스위칭부(31,34)의 스위칭을 제어한다. 이 경우에는 제1 및 제4 스위칭(S13, S16)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 전압이 동일하게 감소하면서 출력전류가 제한된다.
또한, 제어부(50)는 양극 중 어느 하나의 극에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하는 경우에, 해당하는 하나의 극에 대해 전류 제한 기능을 수행하기 위한 스위칭부(30)의 스위칭을 제어하고, 이와 동시에 다른 하나의 극에 대해 출력전압을 정상 상태로 유지하기 위한 스위칭부(30)의 스위칭을 제어한다.
이하, 제어부(50)가 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생된 어느 하나의 극에 대한 전류 제한 기능을 수행하면서, 동시에 다른 하나의 극에 대한 전압 제어를 수행하는 과정에 대해 설명하기로 한다.
양극 중 어느 하나의 극에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생한 경우에, 해당하는 하나의 극에 대해서 전류 제한 기능을 수행하면, 다른 하나의 극에서는 출력 전압이 상승한다. 이 경우에, 다른 하나의 극에서 출력 전압이 상승하는 것은 안정적인 저압 직류배전 선로에 대한 신뢰성을 확보 차원에 있어서 걸림돌이 될 수 있다.
도 2를 참조하면, 단일형 컨버터는 출력전압 Vdc1과 Vdc2가 다음과 같이 제어된다. 즉, 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 Vdc1과 Vdc2는 Vdc1+Vdc2=Vdc_ref(1500V)로 나타난다. 그리고, 출력전압 Vdc1과 Vdc2는 정상적인 부하 조건에서, Vdc1=Vo1, Vdc2=Vo2로 부하(R1,R2)로 전달된다. 정상적인 부하 조건에서는 Vdc1과 Vdc2가 평형 상태이므로, Vdc1=Vdc2=750V이다. 따라서, 정상적인 부하 조건에서 최종 저압 직류배전(LVDC)의 출력전압인 Vdc1과 Vdc2는 750V이다.
만약에, 출력전압 Vo1의 출력단에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하면, 제어부(50)는 제1 스위칭부(S13)의 스위칭을 제어하여 출력전압 Vo1를 감소시켜 출력 전류의 제한 기능을 수행한다.
그런데, 이 경우에도 단일형 컨버터의 출력 전압(Vout)은 항상 Vdc_ref 전압으로 제어된다. 따라서, 한쪽 극의 과부하 또는 단락 상황으로 인해 부하 불평형이 발생하므로, 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 Vdc1과 Vdc2는 불평형 상태가 된다(즉, Vdc1≠Vdc2). 즉, 하나의 극에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생할 때, 다른 극에서는 정상 전압을 유지할 수 없고, 다른 극에 설치된 보호기기도 동작하게 된다.
여기서, 전류 제한 기능과 전압 밸런싱 기능은 동시에 수행할 수 없다. 즉, 전류 제한 기능과 전압 밸런싱 기능은 전류 제한 동작으로 인한 부하 불평형을 보상하기 위해 출력 전압 밸런싱 기능을 동작시킨다면, 출력 전압 밸런싱 동작으로 인해 출력 전압을 감소시킬 수 없기 때문에 동시에 수행할 수 없다. 전압 밸런싱 기능에 대해서는 후술하기로 한다.
만약에, 제어부(50)가 정상적인 부하 조건을 가진 다른 극(즉, 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하지 않은 건전 극)의 전압 제어를 하지 않는 경우에는, 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 Vdc2가 그대로 출력단의 출력전압 Vo2로 전달된다. 이 경우에, 제4 스위칭부(S16)는 제어부(50)에 의해 스위칭 제어되지 않고, 턴온 상태를 유지한다. 즉, 제어부(50)는 출력전압 Vo1의 출력단의 과부하 또는 단락 상황으로 인한 전류 제한 기능을 수행함에 따라 제1 스위칭부(S13)의 스위칭만을 제어한다.
그러면, 출력전압 Vo2의 출력단의 부하는 출력전압 Vo1의 출력단의 부하보다 작기 때문에, 출력전압 Vo2가 출력전압 Vo1보다 커진다(즉, Vo2>Vo1). 또한, 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 Vdc1과 Vdc2가 'Vdc1+Vdc2=1500V'를 만족하고 Vdc2=Vo2이 되면서, 최종 저압 직류배전(LVDC)의 출력전압인 Vdc2의 전압은 750V로 제어되지 않고 상승하게 된다. 즉, 출력단의 출력전압인 Vo2도 750V로 제어되지 않고 상승하게 된다.
전술한 바와 같이, 제어부(50)는 제1 스위칭부(S13)에 대해서만 스위칭을 제어하는 경우에, 출력단의 출력전압 Vo2가 제어되지 않고 상승한다. 이에 따라, 제어부(50)는 제4 스위칭부(S16)에 대해서도 스위칭을 제어함으로써 출력단의 출력전압 Vo2를 정상 상태의 전압인 750V로 전압 제어를 수행한다.
다시 말해, 제어부(50)는 하나의 극에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생되는 경우에, 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생된 하나의 극에 대해 전류 제한 기능을 수행함과 동시에, 다른 하나의 극(즉, 건전 극)에 대해 정상 전압 상태를 유지하기 위한 전압 제어를 통해 출력 전압을 정상 상태로 유지한다.
다음으로, 제어부(50)는 출력전압(Vo1,Vo2)를 이용하여 출력부하의 불평형 상황을 판단한다. 즉, 제어부(50)는 기 설정된 기준전압과 '양극 출력전압 간 차이'(즉, 출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2 간의 차이)를 비교하여 출력부하의 불평형 상황임을 판단한다.
제어부(50)는 전술한 비교 결과에 따라, 스위칭부(30)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전압(Vo1,Vo2)에 대한 전압 밸런싱 기능을 수행한다. 이 경우에, 제어부(50)는 제2 및 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)의 스위칭을 제어한다.
도 3는 본 발명의 출력전압 제어 장치에 단일형 컨버터가 결합된 형태를 나타낸 상세 회로도이다.
도 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 단일형 컨버터(200)는 변압기(210)를 통해 교류측과 연결되고, 변압기(210)로부터 공급되는 교류를 직류로 변환하여 양극 방식으로 본 실시예에 따른 출력전압 제어 장치(100)로 출력한다.
단일형 컨버터(200)를 통해 변압기(210)의 교류를 직류로 변환하여 양극 방식으로 출력하는 기술은 이미 공지된 기술이므로, 보다 구체적인 구현 과정에 대한 설명은 생략하기로 하고, 공지 또는 기타 공지되지 않은 다양한 기술로 구현되는 단일형 컨버터(200)를 포함할 수 있을 것이다.
본 실시예에 따른 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 제1입력 커패시터(Co1)와 제2입력 커패시터(Co2)로 입력되는 단일형 컨버터(200)의 출력전압에 기초하여 양극의 불평형을 감지하고, 양극의 출력전압 불평형이 감지되면 제2 또는 제3 스위칭부(S14, S15)를 스위칭함으로써 불평형을 해소할 수 있다.
또한, 본 실시예에 따른 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 출력전압의 전달 과정에서 발생하는 과부하를 감지하고, 과부하가 감지되면 제1 또는 제4 스위칭부(S13, S16)를 스위칭함으로써 전류를 제한하거나 차단하여 과부하를 해소할 수 있다.
또한, 본 실시예에 따른 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 출력전압의 전달 과정에서 발생하는 과부하가 출력전류 Io1에서만 감지되면, 제1 스위칭부(S13)를 스위칭함으로써 전류를 제어하고, 제4 스위칭부(S16)를 스위칭함으로써 아래쪽 폴의 출력전압 Vn의 전압을 일정하게 유지할 수 있다.
마찬가지로, 본 실시예에 따른 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 출력전압의 전달 과정에서 발생하는 과부하가 출력전류 Io2에서만 감지되면, 제4 스위칭부(S16)를 스위칭함으로써 전류를 제어하고, 제1 스위칭부(S13)를 스위칭함으로써 위쪽 폴의 출력전압 Vp의 전압을 일정하게 유지할 수 있다.
도 4a 내지 도 4c는 전류 제한 기능만 수행하는 경우를 나타낸 그래프이고, 도 5a 내지 도 5c는 전류 제한 기능을 수행함과 동시에 전압 제어 기능을 수행하는 경우를 나타낸 그래프이다.
도 4a 내지 도 4c, 도 5a 내지 5c는 한쪽 극에 과부하 또는 단락전류가 발생했을 경우를 나타낸다. 다만, 도 4a 내지 도 4c는 제어부(50)가 한쪽 극에 대한 전류 제한 기능만 수행하는 경우를 나타내고, 도 5a 내지 도 5c는 제어부(50)가 한쪽 극에 대한 전류 제한 기능을 수행함과 동시에, 다른쪽 극에 대한 전압 제어 기능을 수행하는 경우를 나타낸다.
도 4a 내지 도 4c를 참고하면, 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하지 않은 다른쪽 극에 대해 NPC단의 출력전압과 최종 출력단의 출력전압은, 모두 750V가 유지되지 않고 상승되는 것이 확인된다. 도 5a 내지 도 5c를 참고하면, 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하지 않은 다른쪽 극에 대해 NPC단의 출력전압과 최종 출력단의 출력전압은, 모두 750V가 유지된다. 즉, 한쪽 극에 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생한 경우에, 제어부(50)가 보호협조를 위해 전류 제한 기능을 동작하더라도 다른쪽 극의 단일형 컨버터 최종 출력단 전압은 지속적으로 750V로 유지되는 것이 확인된다.
이와 같이, 양극 방식의 직류배전 선로에 있어서, 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 과부하 또는 단락 상황이 발생하더라도 단일형 컨버터의 최종 출력전압을 안정적으로 유지하고 보호협조할 수 있는 기능을 제공할 수 있다.
도 6은 실제 계통의 직류배전용 단일형 컨버터에 출력전압 제어 장치를 적용한 경우를 나타낸 도면이다.
도 6은 실제 계통에서 단일형 컨버터(1), 제1 보호기기(2), 제2 보호기기(3)를 설치하는 경우를 나타낸다.
도 6의 실제 계통은 저압 직류배전 선로를 나타낸다. 전력회사는 양극 방식의 직류배전 선로를 구성함으로서 저압 직류배전 계통의 안정적으로 직류전원을 공급할 수 있다. 직류전원을 공급하기 위한 경제성 있고, 부피가 적고, 출력품질이 높으며, 신재생원 연계를 통해 양방향 전력전송이 가능한 단일형 컨버터(1)는 직류배전 선로와 함께 보급된다. 저압 직류배전 선로에는 양극 구성의 직류시스템을 채택하는 IDC(인터넷 데이터 센터), 공장 등 수용가 내 직류시스템 및 DC 마이크로그리드에 적용할 수 있다.
한편, 제2 보호기기(3) 이후 구간에서 (+)극에 단락고장이 발생한 경우에는, 제1 보호기기(2)와 제2 보호기기(3)의 동작을 통한 고장 구간 차단 및 건전 구간 보호의 보호협조를 위해 단일형 컨버터(1)가 정격 전류 이상으로 고장 전류를 유지하는 기능을 수행해야 한다. 이 경우, 단일형 컨버터(1)는 직류배전 전원공급용 단일형 컨버터로서, 양극 구조의 직류배전 선로에 실제 사용되기 위해서 필요한 한 극의 단락고장시 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한기능을 적용할 때, 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 다른 건전 극에 영향을 미치지 않게 전압 제어를 수행한다.
도 7은 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 방법에 대한 도면이다.
제어부(50)는 출력전압(Vo1, Vo2)과 출력전압(Io1, Io2)를 센싱한다(S101).
이후, 제어부(50)는 출력전류(Io1, Io2)의 과전류 상황을 판단하기 위해, 출력전류(Io1, Io2)를 기 설정된 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)과 비교한다(S102, S108).
먼저, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1과 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)을 비교한다(S102). 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1이 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크면(S102), 출력전류 Io1과 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)를 비교한다(S103). 즉, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1이 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)보다 크면(S103), 정류기 보호를 위해 전체 밸런싱 회로의 스위치를 오프함으로써 정류기의 손상을 방지시킨다(S104).
그리고, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1이 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S103), 출력전류 Io2와 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)을 비교한다(S105). 이는 전체 폴에 대한 과전류 상황인지를 판단하기 위해 출력전류 Io2에 대해서도 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)와 크기를 비교한다.
이때, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2가 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크면(S105), 제1 스위치(S13)과 제4 스위치(S16)의 스위칭 온(ON)을 통해 양쪽 폴의 출력전압(Vo1, Vo2)을 감소시켜 전류제한 제어를 시작한다(S106). 즉, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1과 Io2가 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크면, 제1 및 제4 스위치(S13, S16)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전류 Io1과 Io2에 대한 전류 제한 제어를 실시한다.
반면에, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2가 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S105), 출력전류 Io1 출력측에만 과전류가 발생한 것으로 판단하여 제1 스위치(S13)를 이용하여 위쪽 폴의 출력전압(Vo1)을 감소시켜 전류제한 제어를 시작한다(S107). 이때, 제어부(50)는 제1 스위치(S13)의 스위칭 온을 통해 출력전압 Vo2 전압이 상승하기 때문에, 제4 스위치(S16)도 스위칭 온을 통해 아래쪽 밸런싱 회로의 출력전압 Vo2를 750V로 전압 제어를 시작한다(S107). 즉, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1만 과전류가 발생하는 경우에, 제1 스위치(S13)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전류 Io1에 대한 전류 제한을 실시함과 동시에, 제4 스위치(S16)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전압 Vo2에 대한 전압 제어를 실시한다.
한편, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io1이 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S102), 출력전류 Io2와 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)을 비교한다(S108).
이때, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2가 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크면(S108), 출력전류 Io2와 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)를 비교한다(S109).
제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2가 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)보다 크면(S109), 정류기 보호를 위해 전체 밸런싱 회로의 스위치를 오프함으로써 정류기의 손상을 방지시킨다(S110).
반면에, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2가 정류기 최대 허용전류(Ishort_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S109), 출력전류 Io2 출력측에만 과전류가 발생한 것으로 판단하여 제4 스위치(S16)를 이용하여 아래쪽 폴의 출력전압(Vo2)을 감소시켜 전류제한 제어를 시작한다(S111). 이때, 제어부(50)는 제4 스위치(S16)의 스위칭 온을 통해 출력전압 Vo2 전압이 상승하기 때문에, 제1 스위치(S13)도 스위칭 온을 통해 위쪽 밸런싱 회로의 출력전압 Vo1를 750V로 전압 제어를 시작한다(S111). 즉, 제어부(50)는 출력전류 Io2만 과전류가 발생하는 경우에, 제4 스위치(S16)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전류 Io2에 대한 전류 제한을 실시함과 동시에, 제1 스위치(S13)의 스위칭을 통해 출력전압 Vo1에 대한 전압 제어를 실시한다.
이후, 제어부(50)는 출력전류(Io1, Io2)가 전류 제한값(Ilimit_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S102, S108), 출력전류의 상황을 정상 상태로 판단하여 제1 스위치(S13)와 제4 스위치(S16)를 스위칭을 온(ON)으로 유지한다(S112).
한편, 제어부(50)는 출력 부하 불평형 상황을 판단하기 위해 '출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 전압 차이'를 전압차 기준값(Vdiff_ref)과 비교한다(S113).
이때, 제어부(50)는 '출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 전압 차이'가 전압차 기준값(Vdiff_ref)보다 크면(S113), 출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 전압 크기를 서로 비교한다(S114). 이 경우, 제어부(50)는 출력전압 Vo1이 Vo2보다 크면(S114), 제2 스위치(S14)의 스위칭 온을 통해 위쪽 밸런싱 회로의 출력전압 Vo1에 대한 전압 제어를 수행한다(S115). 반면에, 제어부(50)는 출력전압 Vo1이 Vo2보다 크지 않으면(S114), 제3 스위치(S15)의 스위칭 온을 통해 아래쪽 밸런싱 회로의 출력전압 Vo2에 대한 전압 제어를 수행한다(S116).
또한, 제어부(50)는 '출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 전압 차이'가 전압차 기준값(Vdiff_ref)보다 크지 않으면(S113), 출력전압 Vo1과 Vo2의 출력 부하측에 불평형이 발생하지 않은 것으로 판단하여 제2 스위치(S14)와 제3 스위치(S15)를 스위치 오프한다(S117).
이와 같이, 제어부(50)는 한쪽 폴에 과부하 또는 단락고장 발생시 과전류 또는 단락전류가 발생하는 경우에(S107, S111), 반대쪽 건전 극에 대해서도 정상 전압 상태를 유지하기 위해 전압 제어를 통해 출력전압을 일정하게 유지시킨다.
이를 통해, 출력전압 제어 장치(100)는 보호협조를 위한 전류 제한시 전압 불평형 문제를 해결할 수 있다.
이상에서 설명된 본 발명의 실시예는 예시적인 것에 불과하며, 본 발명이 속한 기술분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양한 변형 및 균등한 타 실시예가 가능하다는 점을 잘 알 수 있을 것이다. 그럼으로 본 발명은 상기의 상세한 설명에서 언급되는 형태로만 한정되는 것은 아님을 잘 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 발명의 진정한 기술적 보호 범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위의 기술적 사상에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 첨부된 청구범위에 의해 정의되는 본 발명의 정신과 그 범위 내에 있는 모든 변형물과 균등물 및 대체물을 포함하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.

  1. 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 출력전압을 각각 입력받아 출력하는 전원 입출력부;
    상기 전원 입출력부로부터 출력되는 출력전압 및 출력전류를 측정하는 출력전압 및 전류 측정부;
    상기 측정된 출력전류를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제1 극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극에 대해 보호 협조를 위한 전류 제한 제어를 수행하고, 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 제어부;
    상기 양극에 수행되는 제어에 따라 스위칭되는 스위칭부; 및
    상기 스위칭부의 스위칭에 따라 상기 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 전달하는 전원 전달부;
    를 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 전원 입출력부는,
    상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극에 각각 병렬로 연결되어 출력전압을 각각 입력받는 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터, 및 상기 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압을 각각 출력하는 제1 및 제2 출력 커패시터를 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서,
    상기 스위칭부는,
    상기 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터의 일단에 각각 병렬로 연결되는 제1 및 제4 스위칭부, 및 상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 일단에 각각 직렬로 연결되고 상기 제1 및 제2 입력 커패시터에 대해서 각각 병렬로 연결되는 제2 및 제3 스위칭부를 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  4. 제 3 항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는, 상기 제1 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하고, 상기 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행할 때, 상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  5. 제 3 항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는,
    상기 측정된 출력전류를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  6. 제 5 항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는,
    상기 제1 및 제4 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  7. 제 3 항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는,
    상기 측정된 출력전압를 이용하여 상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 및 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  8. 제 7 항에 있어서,
    상기 제어부는,
    상기 제2 및 제3 스위칭부의 스위칭을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 장치.
  9. 단일형 컨버터의 양극으로부터 각각 출력되는 출력 전압 및 출력 전류를 측정하는 단계;
    상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제1 극으로부터 출력되는 출력 전류의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극에 대해 보호 협조를 위한 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 단계; 및
    상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극 중 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 방법.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 측정 단계 이후에,
    상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극으로부터 출력되는 출력전류의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극 및 제2 극에 대해 전류 제한 제어를 수행하는 단계를 더 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 방법.
  11. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 측정 단계 이후에,
    상기 단일형 컨버터의 양극으로부터 출력되는 출력전압의 상태를 확인함에 따라 상기 제1 극 및 제2 극에 대해 전압 제어를 수행하는 단계를 더 포함하는 단일형 컨버터의 출력전압 제어 방법.
