Definitions
- the device includes a pressure device and is bulky, for example, in a confined place where installation space is limited, such as an automobile, a battery fire extinguishing device typified by a lithium ion battery is used. Can not be used.
- the bag has a rupture portion with a low strength that is easily broken by a flame on at least one of the upper and lower surfaces of the film.
- the bag is sealed by welding or bonding a pair of synthetic resin films, a plurality of protrusions or partition walls connecting the two films in the vertical direction with a certain distance therebetween, and the peripheral edges of the two films.
- the space around the projection is filled with the pressure extinguishing agent together with the fire extinguishing agent, or the space partitioned by the partition wall connecting the two films is the fire extinguishing agent.
- at least a part or most of the partition wall is opened, and communicates with another adjacent space through the opening.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus of the present invention is designed to be able to extinguish fire by pouring out a fire extinguishing agent when the film forming the bag is broken by a flame in the event of a fire. Since no control equipment is required, the structure is simple, maintenance is not required, and no sparks are generated even during fire extinguishing, so there is no risk of ignition even when installed in an explosion-proof area. The fire extinguishing function is not impaired regardless of whether it is installed for a period of time or gets dirty or loses power due to a power failure.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus of the present invention even when a pressurizing agent is added to the bag, only the pressurizing agent and the fire extinguishing agent can be put in, and since the bag is thin, the installation space is not required to the left.
- the bag can be formed in a size suitable for a limited installation space, there is no room for installation space like a lithium-ion battery in an automobile, and it can be inserted between batteries in a confined space or on a battery. It can be attached or stacked on top of each other, or installed on the ceiling of the battery storage space, and can be installed easily.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is composed of a bag made of a synthetic resin film and a fire extinguishing agent enclosed in the bag, and these will be described in detail below.
- the bag is formed of a synthetic resin film 1 and a frame 2 and a protrusion 4.
- the film 1 has a thickness of about 0.5 to 3 mm, and the material is preferably a melting point of 110, such as polyethylene, crosslinked polyethylene, and polypropylene. It is a polyolefin of ⁇ 160 ° C.
- the frame 2 and the protrusion 4 are preferably both made of polyethylene.
- the frame 2 has a square shape
- the protrusion 4 has a circular cross section
- both the frame 2 and the protrusion 4 have a height. Is, for example, 8 mm
- protrusions 4 are arranged at regular intervals in the front, rear, left, and right within the frame, and the polyethylene film 1 is placed on the top and bottom of the frame 2 and the protrusions 4 so that the film protrudes outside the frame 2.
- the overlapping portion 5 is heat sealed or bonded to form a square bag.
- the film 1 to be put on the upper and lower sides of the frame preferably has a recess 8 having a small-diameter circular shape with a gap of, for example, within 50 cm, preferably within 3 cm, and a broken portion having a diameter of, for example, about 0.5 to 1 cm. It is formed in places other than the place where 4 is arrange
- the depth of the recess 8 is about half the thickness of the film 1 (see FIG. 3).
- the break portion can also be a cross-shaped slit other than the recess, for example, not penetrating the film.
- the extinguishing agent is put in the bag as described above, but preferably the pressurizing agent is filled together with the extinguishing agent. This is because if the fire extinguisher is filled in a state pressurized with a pressurizing agent, it is easy to eject.
- a pressurized inert gas such as nitrogen gas can be used as the pressurizing agent.
- the automatic fire extinguisher of this embodiment is used, for example, as a fire extinguisher for an automobile battery typified by a lithium ion battery. If a polyolefin resin having a melting point of 110 to 160 ° C. is used for the film 1, the lithium ion battery is overheated. The fire extinguishing corresponding to the ignition becomes possible.
- the film 1 is also reduced when the extinguishing liquid is used as a fire extinguishing agent or when an inert gas pressurized as a pressurizing agent is used together with the extinguishing agent. Therefore, it is desirable to provide a gas barrier property in order to reduce this.
- a gas barrier property As shown in FIG. 3, an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer resin EVOH resin layer 6 is sandwiched, and a medium density polyethylene resin 7 is laminated on the upper and lower sides thereof, or the above-mentioned material is used.
- Aluminum film may be deposited on the film 1.
- the recess 8 formed in the film 1 as a preferred embodiment is preferentially fractured over other thick portions when a flame hits during a fire.
- the fire power of the fire extinguishing agent becomes larger, especially in a state where the pressure agent is pressurized, and the fire power of the fire extinguishing agent becomes weaker than it is greatly broken. Fire extinguishing can be performed relatively reliably.
- the above-described recess 8 is circular, but can be rectangular or any other shape.
- the concave portion 8 is easily broken by a fire, and when an inert gas is used as a pressurizing agent, the concave portion 8 has a shape and a size so as not to be broken by the gas pressure of the enclosed nitrogen gas.
- the applied pressure is preferably about 0.05 to 2.0 MPa.
- FIG. 4 shows another example of the fire extinguishing apparatus.
- the partition wall 14 is arranged in a cross shape vertically and horizontally in place of the protrusion 4 arranged in the frame 2.
- the vertical and horizontal partition walls 14 have a certain gap at the intersection, and in the rectangular space 15 defined by the four-wall partitions 14, in addition to the fire extinguishing liquid, preferably an inert gas is preferably contained in the rectangular space 15. Pressurized and filled.
- Each space 15 is separated from the middle portion of the partition wall 14 and communicates with the space 15 adjacent to the front, rear, left and right by the gap at the intersection.
- FIG. 5 shows still another fire extinguisher.
- the upper and lower films are connected by a projecting portion 17 having a square pipe shape instead of the projecting portion 4 having a circular cross section.
- the liquid and the inert gas are not filled in the protrusion 17, but are filled in the space around the protrusion 17.
- the recesses 8 are all formed at locations where the protrusions 4, 17 and the partition 14 are not disposed, but are formed at locations where the protrusions 4, 17 and the partition 14 are disposed. There is no particular problem.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus of each of the above embodiments has a rectangular shape in plan view, but a circular, elliptical, rhombus, or other polygonal shape is used depending on the space where the fire extinguishing apparatus is installed.
- the 3 has a medium density polyethylene layer 7 on both sides of the EVOH resin layer 6, but a film deposited with aluminum on one side without forming the EVOH resin layer 6 may be used.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus shown in FIG. 6 heat seals the periphery of a pair of square polyethylene films 1 in which the bag 19 has the recesses 8 formed in the front, rear, left and right at regular intervals, and a pair of sides on one side (upper side in FIG. 6).
- a polyethylene tube preferably a polyethylene tube 20 having an EVOH layer, is inserted and fixed, and the bag 19 is heat-sealed at several places (five places in FIG. 6) to prevent swelling.
- a fusion part 21 is formed, and an inert gas which is preferably pressurized together with the fire extinguishing liquid is injected through the tube 20, and after the injection, the tube end is covered with a steel cap or a check.
- the valved joint is connected and closed.
- the film 1 shown in FIG. 6 having no recess 8 is used in the film 1.
- the bag 19 is injected with 60 cc of a fire extinguishing solution of 3V NOVEC1230 and nitrogen gas pressurized to about 0.05 to 0.1 MPa. Then, using the fire extinguisher constituted by the bag 19 of the size shown in FIG. 6 in which the thickness of the space in this state is 2 mm, the thickness of the film 1 is 1 mm, and the total thickness is 4 mm. This was fixed to the ceiling of a box 23 made of polycarbonate of 40 ⁇ 80 ⁇ 40 cm shown in FIG. Then, when water and benzine were put into a 16 ⁇ 16 ⁇ 2 cm container 24 and ignited, the fire was extinguished in 23 seconds. In the figure, 25 indicates the outline of the flame before extinguishing.
- the automatic fire extinguishing apparatus of the present invention is preferably used for a battery typified by a lithium ion battery used in automobiles (electric cars, hybrid cars, plug-in hybrid cars) and the like. It can be used by attaching to a circuit such as a computer.
