Description
DESCRIPTION
SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention relates to a mechanism used for making depth adjustment in vehicle seats.
THE PRIOR ART
Nowadays, various systems are available for adjusting positions of vehicle seat structures. In the known status of the art, the systems providing adjustment of height and depth in vehicle seats comprise perforated lock plates usually mounted to the front sheet. Due to the perforated structure of said lock plate, various deformations occur as the system is used and difficulties are encountered in operation of the system. As a result of the deformation, the pin triggering the motion is released from the slot where it is held. This situation causes a bad user experience.
As a result, improvement is to be made in position adjustment applications in vehicle seats, and therefore novel embodiments that would eliminate the above said drawbacks and bring solutions to the problems of the prior art systems are needed. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a mechanism used for adjusting seating position in vehicle seats developed for meeting the above said needs, eliminating the above said drawbacks and bringing new technical advantages to the relevant technical field. The main purpose of the invention is to provide a useful and comfortable user experience by means of the mechanism that allows depth and height adjustment in vehicle seats. The user can easily adjust the seat to desired level by means of said mechanism. Another purpose of the invention is to eliminate the problem of deformation on the sheet, which is frequently encountered in the prior art. In the known status of the art the pin causes deformation and rupture while it passes from one of the holes found on the sheet to another. The pin may be released from the perforated sheet and
become idle due to these deformations and ruptures. In the present invention, said problems are solved by using a slot and lock plate instead of the perforated sheet and the pin deforming the sheet. Another purpose of the invention is to extend the expected life that is known to be short in the applications where the known status of the art is used. In the embodiment of the present invention, since the lock plate is not subjected to deformation, its expected life is longer. Besides, it is also possible to avoid the economic burden due to repairs or replacement as a result of the short expected lives of the products found in the market.
In order to achieve the above said purposes which would be understood better with the below given detailed description, the present invention is a seat depth adjustment mechanism to be used for making position adjustment in vehicle seats, comprising a pin connected to a seat sheet via a rivet, a right spring and a left spring and a plastic holder of said springs allowing said pin to return back to the locked position by being attached to both sides of the pin where the pin is mounted to said seat sheet, and a button plastic coupled via a screw to the end point of the mechanism without the pin, and it comprises:
• a lock plate, which is connected to said pin, and to the other end of which the button plastic is attached,
• more than one steps found on said lock plate and performing said locking function,
• a slot allowing said steps to perform locking by entering therein,
• a front sheet mounted at the front side of said seat sheet, and
• a slot piece, which is an extension of said front sheet, and which comprises the slot that allows locking function with the insertion of the steps. The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all of its advantages shall be understood better with the figures and the detailed description given below in reference to the figures. Therefore, the assessment should be made by taking into account the said figures and detailed explanations.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this detailed description, the seat depth adjustment mechanism (1 ) according to the invention is only disclosed for better understanding of the subject without forming any limiting effect.
A side view of the seat depth adjustment mechanism (1 ) according to the invention is given in Figure 1 . The pieces used in said mechanism (1 ) are given in Figure 2. Said mechanism (1 ) is based on the steps (1 .2.1 ) found on the lock plate (1 .2) mounted on the seat sheet (1 .1 ), going in and out of the slots (1 .4.2) found at the front sheet (1 .4)
extension and thus controlling of the button plastic (1 .8) by these in-and-out movements.
In said mechanism (1 ), in order to perform the depth adjustment function, a pin (1 .3) is used as welded with the lock plate (1 .2) with right angle. The lock plate (1 .2) and pin (1 .3) embodiment coupled by said welding are added to each other by means of two spring rivets (1 .10), which are the right spring (1 .6) and the left spring (1 .7). In the area connected by said springs (1 .6, 1 .7), also a plastic holder (1 .5) that guides the downward and/or upward movement of said lock plate (1 .2) is found. On said lock plate (1 .2), steps (1 .2.1 ) that allow locking at different levels are found. The front sheet (1 .4) mounted at the front part of said seat sheet (1 .1 ) and the slot piece (1 .4.1 ) designed as an extension to said front sheet (1 .4) and containing a slot (1 .4.2) thereon are of importance for the locking mechanism (1 ) to perform its function. Locking is performed when the steps (1 .2.1 ) found on the lock plate (1 .2) enter into said slot (1 .4.2). The user is provided with the facility to control the depth adjustment by means of the button plastic (1 .8) connected via a screw (1 .9) to the end point (without the pin (1 .3)) of the lock plate (1 .2), which provides locking by entering into said slot (1 .4.2). The user can lift the button plastic (1 .8) up and thus ensure that the lock plate (1 .2) is separated from the slot (1 .4.2) found at the slot piece (1 .4.1 ) that is the extension of the front sheet (1 .4), and can bring said button plastic (1 .8) at a desired position by moving it back-and-forth. When the button plastic (1 .8) is released, the mechanism (1 ) fits back into the slot (1 .4.2) via the right and left springs (1 .6, 1 .7), and thus performs locking operation.
