  • Fasteners are a common and well-used means to secure one object to another. Typically when doing so an operator is able to access both sides of each object and can therefore easily tighten the fastener to ensure the two objects are securely fastened. However, there are many instances where only one side of the object may be easily accessed. This is problematic when securing an object to another object using fasteners.
  • wear liners are used extensively throughout the mining industry to protect those parts of structures which are exposed to wear. Due to their very nature, the wear liners are sacrificial and require regular replacement as they wear to a level where they no longer serve their purpose. It is therefore important that the wear liners can be readily removed. However, due to the harsh operating conditions, it is also important that the wear liners are held firmly in place during their service cycle.
  • Wear liners are used to protect mills, transfer chutes, crushers and other structures. Once these structures have been installed the rear side of the structure is often concealed or is difficult to access. In order to secure any object to these structures a number of solutions are available.

  • the phrase "at least one of”, when such phrase modifies a plurality of things, does not mean "one of each of" the plurality of things.
  • Numerical terms such as “one”, “two”, etc. when used as cardinal numbers to indicate quantity of something mean the quantity indicated by that numerical term, but do not mean at least the quantity indicated by that numerical term.
  • the phrase “one widget” does not mean “at least one widget”, and therefore the phrase “one widget” does not cover, e.g., two widgets.

Abstract

L'invention concerne le domaine des fixations où seul un côté d'un objet peut être facilement accessible. Selon un mode de réalisation, une fixation est prévue pour fixer ensemble des première et seconde pièces à travailler par des orifices respectifs formés dans ces dernières, ladite fixation comprenant : un dispositif de retenue ayant un corps allongé conçu pour une insertion à travers les orifices des pièces à travailler, le dispositif de retenue ayant une bride au niveau d'une extrémité pour venir en prise avec la première pièce à travailler de façon adjacente à l'orifice ; un écrou ayant des parties de mise en prise de pièce à travailler opposées et un trou fileté en interne central ; un boulon ayant une tige comprenant un filetage externe au niveau d'une extrémité et une tête de boulon au niveau de l'autre extrémité ; l'écrou étant supporté par le dispositif de retenue de sorte que l'écrou puisse être placé dans une première orientation dans laquelle un axe du trou est sensiblement orthogonal à l'étendue du dispositif de retenue, et une seconde orientation dans laquelle l'axe du trou est sensiblement aligné avec l'étendue du dispositif de retenue.
