- the electronic book providing server 20 is owned by a publisher, for example.
- a layout data server (digital content storage unit) 21, an advertisement data server 22, a provision data server 23, and a recommended layout information server 24 are provided.
- the distribution data server 21 stores various data related to a plurality of electronic books.
- Various data relating to the electronic book includes image data of the cover of the electronic book, image data of the back cover, data of the size of the corresponding paper book, and the like. In the present application, these are called placement data.
- the cover image and the back cover image of the electronic book are the same as the cover image and the back cover image of the corresponding paper book. However, the front cover image and the back cover image of the electronic book may be different from the corresponding cover image and back image of the paper book.
- Various data relating to the electronic book stored in the layout data server 21 is sent to the layout terminal 10 via the Internet 40.
- the advertisement data server 22 stores a plurality of advertisement data for electronic books.
- the electronic book advertisement data is, for example, image data of a book band (paper on which a catch phrase of a book or a recommendation sentence is written) corresponding to the electronic book.
- the electronic book advertisement data stored in the advertisement data server 22 is sent to the distribution terminal 10 via the Internet 40.
- the provided data server 23 stores a plurality of data of electronic books to be provided.
- a user can read an electronic book by downloading data of a desired electronic book to the information terminal 1 via the Internet 40.
- the information terminal 1 is, for example, a smartphone.
- the information terminal 1 is not limited to a smartphone, and may be any terminal that can read an electronic book, such as an electronic book reader, a tablet terminal, or a laptop computer. Further, the information terminal 1 may be owned by the user, or may be prepared by the store side.
- the recommended placement information server 24 stores recommended placement information.
- the recommended placement information is information that defines a rule for placing a plurality of electronic books.
- the distribution terminal 10 is installed in a store that provides electronic books.
- the store providing the electronic book is not a virtual store on the Internet but a real store.
- a description will be given assuming that a store that provides an electronic book is also a bookstore that provides a paper book.
- “bookstore” in this specification refers to a bookstore that provides paper books.
- the store that provides the electronic book may be a store that provides only the electronic book without providing the paper book.
- the e-book provided can be paid or free.
- the placement terminal 10 includes a placement image generation unit 11, an advertisement data storage unit 12, and a recommendation data storage unit 13.
- advertisement data storage unit 12 advertisement data sent from the advertisement data server 22 of the electronic book providing server 20 via the Internet 40 is stored.
- the recommendation data storage unit 13 stores recommendation data for electronic books.
- the electronic book recommendation data is data including text, images, and the like for recommending the electronic book to the user.
- This recommendation data corresponds to a POP (pop) created by a bookstore clerk for book introduction and recommendation, and is created by a store clerk who provides an electronic book.
- Electronic books can be provided at a plurality of stores, and electronic book recommendation data is created for each store.
- the layout image generation unit 11 stores recommended layout information stored in the recommended layout information server 24, various data related to electronic books sent from the layout data server 21 of the electronic book providing server 20, and advertisement data storage.
- a layout image is generated based on the electronic book advertisement data stored in the unit 12 and the electronic book recommendation data stored in the recommendation data storage unit 13. That is, the layout image generation unit 11 distributes a plurality of electronic books based on the recommended layout information, and generates a layout image in which advertisement data for the electronic book and recommendation data for the electronic book are arranged.

- the advertisement information 45 is an advertisement related to an electronic book, for example. For example, when a movie based on “XXX story” shown in the upper part is scheduled to be released, advertisement information of the movie is displayed.
- the electronic book recommendation data 42 and 43 can be displayed at an arbitrary position. For example, as shown in FIG. 2, it may be displayed so as to partially overlap with the electronic book, or may be displayed so as not to overlap.
- the electronic book recommendation data does not need to be displayed corresponding to all the electronic books in the layout image, and may be displayed corresponding to at least some of the electronic books.
- the layout image 41 shown in FIG. 2 shows a state in which a plurality of electronic books are arranged in a two-level bookshelf, but a state in which the electronic books are arranged in a one-level bookshelf or three or more levels of bookshelves. It may be shown. Moreover, it is preferable that the size of the electronic book displayed on the layout image 41 is the same as the size of the corresponding paper book. However, the size of the electronic book displayed on the layout image 41 does not have to be the same as the size of the corresponding paper book, and may be a size reduced or enlarged at a predetermined scale, for example. In this case, the layout image generation unit 11 adjusts the size of the image of the electronic book to be displayed according to the size of the display of the providing terminal 30.
- the recommendation data 42 and 43 can be created independently by the store clerk. Therefore, even for the same electronic book, the recommendation data varies depending on the store.
- the advertisement data 44 is data that is created by, for example, a publisher and sent from the advertisement data server 22. Therefore, if the same electronic book is used, the same advertisement data is displayed on the provision terminal 30 in a different store. However, a plurality of advertisement data is stored in the advertisement data server 22 for one electronic book, and any one advertisement data is selected on the store side and displayed on the layout image 41. Also good.
- a handwritten POP created by a store clerk at a bookstore is created, and the POP is read with a scanner to create image data, or the handwritten POP is photographed with a camera.
- image data By using the image data based on the handwritten POP as the recommendation data displayed on the layout image 41, the user can feel the enthusiasm of the store clerk for the book, and the willingness to obtain is enhanced.
- the store clerk may also create recommendation data using drawing software (graphics software) and store it in the recommendation data storage unit 13.
- FIG. 3 shows the recommendation data (image data) generated by reading the handwritten POP with the scanner 51, or the recommendation data (image data) is generated using the draw software 52, and the generated recommendation data is used for recommendation.
