Definitions
- Technical Field Invention relates to a floating structure suitable for refuelling of the following transport: marine vessels, such as yachts, boats, jet skis etc.; aquaplanes; helicopters; cars; trucks and/or other transportation means.
- United States patent No. 6,786,166 and European patent No. 1224113 discloses a liquefied gas storage barge with concrete floating structure.
- Said tanks are cylindrical tanks each having a cross-section perpendicular to its longitudinal axes that comprises a preferably circular curved portion corresponding to the bottom of said tank, said portion being preferably a bottom half-circumference resting directly on the concrete bottom of the barge, which barge bottom is in the form of adjacent part- cylindrical troughs, each part-cylindrical trough having the same preferably circular, partially curved section in register with the bottom of each tank.
- United states patent No. 3,828,708 discloses a modular pre-stressed concrete marine vessel having plurality of integrally cast longitudinal modules.
- Each of said longitudinal modules comprising a concrete body; support beams extending vertically between said bottom slab and said deck slab, and parallel to said side walls; wherein said walls, slabs and support beams having a plurality of openings extending longitudinally there- through; a reinforcing steel network positioned within said body for pre-stressing said body.
- WO2009/131543 discloses an offshore fuel storage facility that includes a spine structure supported on a seabed; and a plurality of floating storage modules moored adjacent the spine structure, each of the floating storage modules capable of storing at least one type of petrochemical product.
- the facility may also include a fixed platform that houses various support facilities, and at least one jetty that provides docking space for one or more ships to load and unload petroleum and petrochemical products.
- the object of the invention is to provide a safe and easy maintainable floating structure for refuelling.
- Aim of the invention is reached by designing a floating structure for refuelling comprising a hull made of reinforced concrete.
- the hull can be divided in at least two compartments. Each compartment is provided with at least one access hatch.
- the floating structure comprises a fuel tank arranged in the compartment of the hull.
- the fuel tank is arranged so that between walls of the compartment and fuel tank a space is maintained, therefore the fuel tank can be inspected during its use. This feature substantially increases a serviceability of the floating structure. Service personal can inspect the fuel tank in any moment.
- the fuel tank can be made of steel, stainless steel or composite material.
- the fuel tank can store petrol, diesel, gas or any other petroleum products.
- the floating structure further may comprise at least one ballast tank arranged in one of the compartments and configured to keep the floating structure in a predetermined level, and an engine room for providing a power supply for the floating structure.
- a power source in the engine room can be diesel generator, electric batteries, fuel cells or any other means of power source.
- the ballast tanks are part of ballast-drainage system for trimming the floating structure.
- the ballast-drainage system further may comprise a pump, pipe system, valves and filters.
- One of the compartments is configured to be a cofferdam that is arranged between two compartments comprising fuel tanks in order to prevent two different fuels from mixing with each other. If the floating structure comprises a fuel tank of petrol and another tank of diesel, then between these two fuel tank compartments another compartment - cofferdam - is provided.
- the hull is designed to have a necessary strength to fulfil its' functions. Necessary strength is provided due to accurate fulfilment of rules and requirements of classification societies.
- the floating structure comprises a mooring arrangement such as the following, but not limited to: piles, anchors, ropes etc.
- the floating structure is provided with fuel piping system. It may comprise pipes for fuel delivery and/or for vapour extraction from the fuel tank and/or for the fuel tank ventilation.
- Fig. 1 illustrates a floating structure comprising a hull 1, three fuel tanks 2, two ballast tanks 3, an engine room 4 and a cofferdam 5, steel armature 7 and the elevated upper deck 10.
- Fig. 2A is a top view of the floating structure without an upper deck 10 (shown in Fig. 2B and Fig. 2C) for ease of understanding.
- Fig. 2B is a section view of the floating structure in a longitudinal direction.
- Fig. 2C is a section view of the floating structure in a transversal direction.
- Fig 3 illustrates the floating structure with an upper deck 10.
- the hull 1 is displayed in a section view for the ease of understanding.
- Fig. 4 is a section view of the floating structure in a longitudinal direction showing compartments 6 and fuel tanks 2.
- a floating structure for refuelling comprising a hull 1 made of reinforced concrete.
- Said concrete comprises steel armature 7 (Fig. 1).
- the hull 1 is divided in seven compartments 6. Three of seven compartments 6 are arranged to accommodate fuel tanks 2.
- Each fuel tank 2 is arranged so that between inner walls of the compartment 6 and the fuel tank 1 a space A is maintained. Therefore, each fuel tank 2 can be inspected during its use (see Fig. 1 - Fig. 4).
- the floating structure further comprises ballast tanks 3 arranged in two compartments 6 and configured to keep the floating structure in a predetermined level.
- One of the compartments 6 is configured to accommodate an engine room 4 for providing a power supply to the floating structure.
- Another compartment 6 is configured to be as a cofferdam 5.
- the cofferdam 5 is arranged between two compartments 6 comprising fuel tanks 2 in order to prevent two different fuels from mixing with each other.
- a fuel contained in the fuel tanks 2 is fed to the fuelling stations 12 by means of pipelines and pumps 13.
