The subject of the invention is shown as embodiments in figures, whereas Figs. 1-5 show the embodiments of the spot-fixed curtain wall system complete with the details, Fig. 6 - pressure seals, Fig. 7 - first mounting bracket, Fig. 8 - second mounting bracket, Fig. 9 - first corner bracket, Fig. 10 - second corner bracket, Fig. 11 - third corner bracket, Hg. \l - pressure plate for the middle joint, Fig. 13 - pressure plate for the outermost joint, Fig. 14 - second pressure plate for the middle joint. A curtain wall in the system according to the invention consists of attaching horizontal strips of glass panes via bare brackets. The maximum width obtained for one segment was 1500 mm. The maximum width possible for one segment was 1000 mm. This, however, is not a limit for constructing walls in the system according to the invention in any case when it is necessary to cover larger facade surface area. To cover larger areas with glass, a sequence of a vertical glass pane strip mounted on the system brackets should be used, followed by a horizontal segment.
A frameless system has unlimited applications in modern construction industry. Small brackets that support the glass panes means that the facade is made from a single piece of glass. The visible dimensions of the glass mounting brackets are: 57 x 57 [mm] and 100 x 57 [mm] for the top strip (mounting with brackets marked as: the first corner bracket UN 2/2, the second corner bracket UN 1/1, the pressure plate for the outermost joint PD 2/2, and the pressure plate for the middle joint PD 1/1. The visible dimensions of the middle strip brackets are: 57 x 100 [mm] and 100 x 100 [mm] (mounting with brackets marked as: the first corner bracket UN 2/2, the third corner bracket UN 4/4, the pressure plate for the outermost joint PD 2/2, and the second pressure plate for the middle joint PD 4/4. The visible dimensions of the mounting brackets for the bottom strip are: 57 x 57 [mm] and 100 x 57 [mm] (mounting with brackets marked as: the first corner bracket UN 2/2, the second corner bracket UN 1/1, the pressure plate for the outermost joint PD 2/2, and the pressure plate Tor tne middle joint PD 1/1.
Thanks to the unique shape of the brackets, windows can be installation in horizontal and vertical strips. The shapes of the profiles allow the user to construct a wail which is mad up of any number of cells in the upward and sidewise direction. A unique connector (the first mounting bracket UM1 and the second mounting bracket UM2) dedicated for this system makes it possible to mount a wall on a support structure made of wood, or directly on the building structure. The first mounting bracket U l and the second mounting bracket UM2 are equipped with unique horizontal grooves.
The walls erected in the system according to the invention may consist of many colours. There is a difference between internal and external elements. The internal and external elements are separately prepared for mounting and as such can be made in two different colours. This makes it easier to match the entire curtain wall made in the system according to the invention with the other elements of the facade of the building to which the system will be applied. The two following techniques can be used to protect the surface of the system elements against corrosion: powder coating in RAL colours, and anodizing in accordance with the requirements of the Q.UALANOD certification mark. All the components of the walls are manufactured in compliance with the applicable European standards. The wall in the system according to the invention should be implemented in accordance with the design developed individually for each structure. The filling templates and the accessories for attaching the brackets to the structure of the building should be chosen on the basis of the system documentation and the static calculations of the design. The entire system according to the invention is maae οτ aluminium profiles. The elements are made of aluminium obtained by processing aluminium alloy EN AW-6060 T66 (AIMgSiO, 5 F22) in compliance with the following standards:
· chemical composition of the alloy PN-EN 573-3:1998, PN-EN
515:1996, (DIN 1725 T.l),
• shape and dimensions of the aluminium profiles DIN 17615 T.3,
• mechanical properties PN-EN 755-2:2001,
• meet the requirements of PN-EN 755-1:2001.
The surfaces of the profil anodised with oxides or powder coated with polyester. Such surface finishes of the material used for curtain wall mounting system are required to properly secure the components of the system against corrosion. Corrosion is a hazardous phenomenon and its outcome can be catastrophic. Therefore, it is of key importance to protect the surface (either by anodising or powder coating) in compliance with the following guidelines.
Anodic oxide coatings as per the following requirements:
- layer thickness not less than 20 μιτι according to PN-EN ISO 2360:1998 or PN-EN ISO 2808:2000,
- external appearance according to PN - 80/H-97023,
- coating tightness degree of 20 μιη according to PN-90/H-04606/02, impedance greater than 10 kQ,
- corrosion resistance of the coating according to PN-76/H-04606/03,
Polyester powder coatings as per the following requirements: - coat layer thickness in accordance with N-EN i u d u:iyy» or
Figure imgf000009_0001
ISO 2808: 2000 not less than 60 μηχ
- relative hardness of the coat according to PN-EN ISO 1522:2001,
- resistance to delamination from the substrate PN-EN ISO 2409:1999 - grade 0,
- resistance to salt spray according to PN-ISO 7253:2000/Ap 1:2001 - unchanged coat after 1,000 h,
- resistance to liquids according to PN-EN ISO 2812-1:2001, The UD3 and UD5 seals that hold the glass panes in place in both transparent and opaque stripes are made of synthetic EPDM rubber according to DIN 7863 and executive standard DIN 7715-E2.
The designed pressure seals UD3, UD4, UD5, UD6 have the following properties:
· made of 3EP7002 rubber compound,
• black colour,
• polymer mix based on EPDM rubbers,
• density of 1.22 g/dm3. A wall made using the system according to the invention may include a continuous glass surface made of panes with a thickness between 6 mm and 13 mm that meet the requirements set out in PN-B-13079. The thickness of the glass panes S depends on their size and the type of application. Tempered glass panes (for interior decoration elements), as well as tempered and laminated glass panes (for external wall decoration elements) can be used. If thin glass panes are used, thicker seals (UD3, UD4, UD5, UD6) that adequately correspond to the thickness of the glass should be applied. The fasteners (self-drilling screws, seiT-tappmg screws, bolts, washers, nuts) used for making joints are made of stainless steel in compliance with the standards referred to in the system documentation. A wall made according to the invention is attached to the building structure by profiles (UM1 and UM2) fastened to the building wall by special dowels or other plugs suitable for the material of the support element of the building. In case of heavy glass panes, the number of brackets used to fasten an S glass should be increased. 20 mm gaps should be made between the panes of the successive segments so as to accommodate the movement of the glass under a range of varying weather conditions. If 13mm thick glass panes are mounted, it should be borne in mind that only 3 mm thick pressure seals should be used for the entire structure. The adjustment for the thickness of the S glass used should be carried out by choosing a suitable pressure seal - the thinner the glass, the thicker the pressure seal.
Snow load can be completely ignored in static calculations for the walls of the system according to the invention, as the system cannot be mounted on a roof or at an angle that would make the snow accumulate. When determining wind load, it should be assumed that the force of wind acts perpendicular to the wall i.e. results in the most unfavourable load of the building, element or partition, and that all windward and leeward surfaces of the building, element, or partition are subject to an evenly distributed force of wind pressure or suction. When designing a facade with corners, increased local edge load should be taken into account. Accurate wind load calculations should be made by the constructor of the building in compliance with PN-EN 1991-1-4 and taking into account me adequately chosen cross-section of load-bearing profile, in compliance with PN-EN 1999-1-1.
