- the holder according to the invention may function also when suspended by, for example, string or similar.
- the object that is held in the holder be in its entirety sheet material: it may be also something, such as a frame, that is, in turn, attached at a sheet base that is attached at the holder through the folding mechanism described above.

Description
A HOLDER TO HOLD SHEETS, TO BE DISPLAYED OR POSTED
The present invention relates to a holder in order to hold sheets or similar that for one reason or another are to be displayed or posted on, for example a noticeboard, memory plaque or similar.
Holders of various types are available to hold sheets of various types. The holders may be, for example, magnets or pins or nails, depending on the base on which they are to be used. The use of tape is, of course, also known for the temporary attachment of a sheet on a base.
The purpose of the present invention is to achieve a holder that is simple to manufacture, that does not contain any sharp or in other ways risk-filled parts on which small children can harm themselves or that they can swallow, that can be manufactured completely from an environmentally sensitive material, and that is simple to recycle.
The above-mentioned purpose is achieved in its most simple form with a holder according to the invention, which is formed from a principally rectangular sheet material that after folding demonstrates a backwardly folded part and a main part, in order to form a double-folded part that is closed at the top and open at the bottom, whereby the double-folded part is equipped at an edge with a fold or fold guideline that passes from a lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards, to form a corner that can be folded inwards, whereby the corner that can be folded inwards is arranged to be able to surround a sheet that has been introduced into the holder such that the sheet, when the corner has been folded inwards, is held fixed in the holder with the corner of the sheet surrounded by the folded-in corner that demonstrates a backwardly folded part in order to form a double-folded part that is open downwards, whereby the double-folded part is equipped at an edge with a fold or fold guideline that passes from a lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards, to form a corner that can be folded inwards.
According to one preferred embodiment of a holder according to the invention, the principally rectangular sheet material is designed such that it demonstrates at a lower end a first folded part folded backwards that is, in turn, folded backwards to form a double-folded part that is closed at the top and open at the bottom, and that is equipped at an edge with a fold or fold guideline that passes from a lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards, to form a corner that can be folded inwards.
With a holder that has been designed in this way, a sheet of paper or a sheet of another material can be introduced from below into the double-folded part that is open at the bottom, with an edge of the sheet located essentially edge-to-edge with the side of the holder where the fold or fold guideline is arranged, such that the double-folded part is folded backwards and with the sheet taken up into the double- folded part a corner is folded on the sheet that has in this way been introduced into the holder together with the corner of the double-folded part, and in this way the sheet is held fixed in the holder.
According to one preferred embodiment of the invention, the double-folded part is equipped at both edges with a fold or fold guideline that passes from the lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the double-folded part is equipped on the side that faces inwards towards the principal part of the sheet material of the holder with an attachment means for attachment at the principal part of the sheet material.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, the sheet material of the holder is equipped on its side that faces away from the double-folded part with attachment means for the attachment at a base, such as a noticeboard or folder.
It is appropriate that the sheet material that constitutes the holder be a relatively rigid paper material, but it may be also, for example, a flexible plastic material which is, however, sufficiently rigid.
The attachment means used to fasten the double-folded part at the principal part of the sheet material may be formed by, for example, a groove on the rear surface of the double-folded part that forms a tab, and a corresponding groove in the principal part of the sheet material for the reception of the tab formed on the rear surface of the double-folded part. As an alternative, the attachment means may comprise a binding agent, initially covered by a protective film, on the rear surface of the double-folded part or on the principal part of the sheet material in order to unite it with the second of the two parts when the protective film is removed.
The attachment means for the attachment of the sheet material at a base may comprise, for example, a binding agent, initially covered by a protective film, on the rear surface of the principal part of the sheet material in order to unite it with the base that the holder according to the invention is to be fixed to after the protective film has been removed. As an alternative, if also the base consists of a sheet material, the attachment means may be formed through a groove in the principal part of the sheet material in order to form a tab that can, in turn, interact in a suitable groove formed in the base.
The invention will now be described in the form of a non-limiting embodiment, illustrated in the attached drawings, where Figure 1 shows the most simple form of, and the principle of, a holder according to the invention, Figure 2 shows a sheet in order to form a holder in the form of a note-holder according to the invention, Figure 3 shows the sheet in Figure 2 folded to a note-holder according to the invention, Figure 4 shows a view corresponding to that in Figure 3, but with a certain perspective and with a corner part of the double-folded part of the noteholder folded inwards in order to hold a note or similar, Figure 5 shows a view corresponding to that in Figure 4, but with a note held by the note-holder, and
Figure 6 shows a view corresponding to that in Figure 5, but one in which the note that is held by the note-holder has essentially the same width as the note-holder and that is, in this case, folded inwards at both sides.
A holder 1 according to the invention is shown in its most simple form in Figure 1 , where it is folded as for use. The holder is formed from a principally rectangular sheet and comprises a rear part, or principal part 2, that is intended to be attached at a base with the aid of, for example, a binding agent applied to the rear surface of the principal part and initially covered by a protective film. The rectangular sheet 1 is provided at its lower part, under the principal part 2, with markings or grooves that constitute fold guidelines for the folding of a part 3 forwards from the principal part 2. This causes a double-folded holder 1 that is open downwards to be formed. As is shown in the drawing, the right corner 4 of the holder 1 is folded inwards such that it lies folded-in behind the part 3 and the principal part 2, and can, when it is thus folded-in, hold, for example, a note that has been inserted into the holder 1 before the corner 4 was folded in. How this is achieved is made more clear by the following description of other embodiments.
A note or other sheet that is introduced between the principal part 2 and the folded part 3 will thus become surrounded by these two parts, and when the corner 4 is folded in also the part of the note or sheet that is located between the parts 2 and 3 will become folded in, with also the note or sheet thus folded at this location, and in this way held fixed securely by the holder 1 .
A holder 1 may, of course, be designed also such that it lacks binding agent on its rear surface, and is intended solely to be attached preferably at several sheets laid on top of each other, such that when the corner of the holder is folded, the holder will function as a paperclip in order to hold together the sheets that have been introduced at the holder 1 between the principal part 2 and the folded part 3. It is appropriate that a holder designed in this way be provided with a printed design, such as, for example, advertising or a company name, on the outwardly facing side
of the folded part 3. When the holder 1 is used as a paperclip, it is then, in contrast to that shown in Figure 1 , preferably the left corner of the holder 1 that is folded in to hold fixed the sheet that has been inserted between the parts 2 and 3.
A holder according to a second embodiment of the invention is shown in Figure 2 as a note-holder in its extended condition, and is formed essentially from a principally rectangular sheet 5. The rectangular sheet 5 has an upper part 6 that constitutes the principal part of the note-holder, and that is intended to be attached at a base. The rectangular sheet 5 is provided at its lower part, under the principal part 6, with markings or grooves 7, 8 that constitute fold guidelines for the folding of a first backwardly folded part 9 and a second backwardly folded part 10. The backwardly folded parts 9, 10 extend across the complete width of the rectangular sheet 5, and are folded in such a way that the first backwardly folded part 9 extends back upwards towards an upper edge of the rectangular sheet 5, and will then lie in front of the lower part of the principal part 6. The second backwardly folded part 10 is folded backwards on top of the first backwardly folded part 9, such that it will be placed with the first backwardly folded part 9 located between the principal part 6 and the second backwardly folded part 10. The first 9 and second 10 backwardly folded parts thus together form a double-folded part, where the first backwardly folded part is united with the principal part, and the double-folded part 9, 10 forms a part that is open downwards and that is closed upwards by the fold 8 between the first 9 and second backwardly fold parts.
It is appropriate that the first backwardly folded part 9 be provided with an attachment means 1 1 that can be united with the surface of the principal part 6, when the first backwardly folded part 9 has been folded backwards along the folding line 7 such that it lies outside of the principal part 6. The attachment means may comprise, for example, a binding agent, initially covered by a protective film, on the rear surface of the first backwardly folded part 9 in order to unite the principal part 6 of the sheet material when the protective film is removed. It is obvious that the relationship may be also the inverse, such that the attachment means 1 1 ' is arranged at the principal part 6 in order to unite it with the
counterfolded surface of the first backwardly folded part 9. The attachment means may, as an alternative, be formed by a groove on the rear surface of the first backwardly folded part 9 forming a tab, and a corresponding groove in the principal part 6 of the sheet material for reception of the tab that has been formed on the rear surface of the first backwardly folded part 9. Also in this case can the relationship, of course, be the inverse.
Figure 3 makes it clear that also the two parts that form the first backwardly folded part 9 and the second backwardly folded part 10 comprise at their right edges markings or grooves 12, 13 that constitute fold guidelines for the folding backwards of a corner 10 of the two backwardly folded parts 9, 10 when these two have been folded such that they form the double-folded part that is open at its bottom. These markings or grooves 12, 13 run from the right edge of the rectangular sheet 5 and obliquely inwards in order to meet at the fold guideline 8 between the first 9 and the second 10 backwardly folded parts. It is appropriate that the gradient of these fold guidelines 12, 13 be such that it forms a right-angled triangle with two sides of equal length. The corner 14 that is in this way formed can be folded in such that it comes to be located between the principal part 6 of the sheet and the first backwardly folded part 9, in order to function as attachment means for the sheet that is to be held fixed by the note-holder according to the invention, as is explained in more detail below.
The note-holder according to the invention is shown in Figure 4 with the two backwardly folded parts 9, 10 such that they form a double-walled part, and with the corner 14 folded in such that it is located between the principal part 6 and the first backwardly folded part 9.
Figure 5 shows the note-holder according to the invention with a sheet 15 that is held fixed by the note-holder. This sheet 15 has been inserted into the space between the first backwardly folded part 9 and the second backwardly folded part 10 from the position that is shown in Figure 2, i.e. without the corner 14 having
been folded in. The upper part of the sheet 15 is thus surrounded by the first backwardly folded part 9 and the second backwardly folded part 10. The sheet 15 is placed such that its right side lies principally flush with the right edge of the noteholder, and when the sheet 15 has been inserted upwards as far as is possible, i.e. when its upper edge lies against the fold 8 between the first backwardly folded part 9 and the second backwardly folded part 10, the corner 14 is folded in such that it is held fixed between the principal part 6 of the note-holder and the first backwardly folded part 9. Also the upper right corner of the sheet 15 that has been inserted will in this way be folded in, which gives a very stable attachment of the sheet 15 that is intended to be posted with the aid of the note-holder according to the invention. It should also be made clear that it is not solely a single sheet that can be held fixed in this manner: it can be a number of sheets 15 that are held fixed or posted at the same time with the aid of the note-holder.
It is obvious also that the corner 14 that can be folded inwards does not need to be placed at the right side of the note-holder: it can, of course, equally well be arranged at the left side of the note-holder, and in such a case, of course, the sheet or sheets 15 that is or are to be held fixed or posted with the aid of the noteholder is or are placed in line with the left edge of the note-holder.
Figure 6 shows a note-holder according to the invention and similar to that shown in Figure 5. A sheet 15 with the same width as that of the note-holder is shown here, and folded-in corners 14 are present at both sides of the note-holder. This embodiment of the invention is particularly suitable to be mounted on bowed or curved surfaces, where a stronger attachment of the sheet that is to be displayed or posted may be required.
Also a rounded element, such as a short rod, may be inserted at the rear surface of the first backwardly folded part 9, at the fold guideline 12, which element extends in the direction of the fold guideline in order to achieve a less severe folding and to avoid the risk that creases form in the sheet that is held in the note-holder.
The attachment means for the attachment of the principal part 6 of the note-holder at a base may comprise, for example, a binding agent, initially covered by a protective film, on the rear surface of the principal part 6 in order to unite it with the base that the holder according to the invention is to be fixed to after the protective film has been removed. Such a binding agent may then be designed either as one surface or a pair of surfaces that is or are covered with binding agent, or it may as an alternative extend in a track across the complete width at the top of the rear surface of the principal part 6. As an alternative, if also the base consists of a sheet material, the attachment means may be formed through a groove in the principal part 6 in order to form a tab that can, in turn, interact in a suitable groove formed in the base.
The material of the holder according to the invention may be, in principle, any suitable material that can be easily folded and that even so has sufficient rigidity that it maintains its shape after folding. Paper and certain plastic materials are examples of material that can be used as material. The sheet material that the holder is formed from does not need to have a completely rectangular form, in particular not at the upper part of the holder: it can, for example, there have a rounded upper part. What is important is that the lower part of the holder has essentially straight edges, where the sheet material is to be folded in order to form the double-folded part and the folded-in corner. The principal part 6 of the holder may be, in principle, designed with a freely chosen shape.
The principal part 6, as also the second backwardly folded part 10, may be provided with a printed design of some type, for example simply a uniform colour, or text or advertising, since these surfaces of the holder according to the invention are visible during its use.
Given the sheet design of the holder according to the invention, also the advantage that it can be used in, for example a collapsible folder is achieved, since the holder
is flat and does not require any particular space in order to fit into a collapsible folder.
It is not necessary that the holder according to the invention be attached at a base: it may function also when suspended by, for example, string or similar.
In the same way, it is not necessary that the object that is held in the holder be in its entirety sheet material: it may be also something, such as a frame, that is, in turn, attached at a sheet base that is attached at the holder through the folding mechanism described above.
Claims
1. A holder (1 ; 5) to hold sheets (15) that are, for one reason or another, to be displayed or posted, ch a racteri sed in that the holder (1 ; 5) is formed from a principally rectangular sheet material (1; 5) that after folding demonstrates a backwardly folded part (3; 10) and a main part (2; 6), in order to form a double- folded part (2, 3; 6, 9, 10) that is closed at the top and open at the bottom, whereby the double-folded part is equipped at one edge with a fold or fold guideline (12, 13) that passes from a lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards, to form a corner (4; 14) that can be folded inwards, whereby the corner that can be folded inwards is arranged to be able to surround a sheet that has been introduced into the holder such that the sheet (15), when the corner (4; 14) has been folded inwards, is held fixed in the holder with the corner (4; 14) of the sheet (15) surrounded by the folded-in corner (4; 14).
2. The holder (5) according to claim 1, ch a ra cteri sed in that the essentially rectangular sheet material (6) of the holder demonstrates at a lower end a first folded part (9) folded backwards that is, in turn, folded backwards (10) to form a double-folded part (9, 10) that is closed at the top and open at the bottom.
3. The holder according to claim 1, ch a racte ri sed in that the double- folded part (9, 10) is equipped at both edges with a fold or fold guideline (12, 13) that passes from the lower corner, upwards and obliquely inwards.
4. The holder according to claim 2 or 3, ch a racte ri sed in that the double-folded part (9, 10) is equipped on the side (9) that faces inwards towards the principal part (6) of the sheet material of the holder (5) with an attachment means (11 ) for attachment at the principal part (6).
5. The holder according to any one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the holder (1 ; 5) is equipped with an attachment means for the attachment of
