  • the present disclosure relates to an ozone supply device that generates ozone and supplies it to an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine.
  • Patent Document 1 discloses a purification device including an adsorbent that adsorbs NOx contained in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and a reduction catalyst.
  • NOx is adsorbed by the adsorbent at a low temperature when the catalyst is not activated, and when the activation temperature is reached, the reducing agent is supplied to the exhaust passage to reduce NOx on the catalyst for purification.
  • Patent Document 1 discloses an ozone supply device that supplies ozone to the upstream side of the adsorbent in the exhaust passage.
  • the ozone supply device includes an ozonizer having an electrode that generates ozone by discharge, and a blower that supplies air to the electrode and blows the generated ozone to an exhaust passage. Then, if supplying ozone to the exhaust passage at a low temperature as described above, NO in the exhaust gas is oxidized to NO 2. Since NO 2 has a property that it is more easily adsorbed to the adsorbent than NO, the NOx adsorption amount can be increased by supplying ozone.

特開2012-193620号公報(US2014/0000246A1に対応)
