- this paper briefly describes the flow of uplink data stream transmission between the STA and the AP based on the block response mechanism as specified in the 802.11 standard protocol. As shown in Figure 1, the process includes:
- the STA determines that the start block response mode transmits an uplink data flow, that is, sends a block response setup request ADDBA Request message to the AP to the AP.
- the ADDBA Request message carries the service flow identification code (English: Traffic Identity, TID for short), the upstream data flow size, and the response policy, that is, the ADDBA Request message carries the parameter TID and the buffer (Buffer).
- TID defines the identifier of the upstream data stream
- Buffer is the size of the upstream data stream, that is, the size of the required buffer
- the ACK Policy indicates the response mode, such as an immediate response or a delayed response.
- the AP After receiving the ADDBA Request message, the AP determines whether to agree to adopt the block response mode according to the current resource status of the AP.
- the AP If the current resource status of the AP satisfies the establishment of a block response with the STA for the uplink data stream, the AP agrees to adopt a block response mode. Otherwise, the AP does not agree.
- the current resource status of the AP includes: at least one of an AP receiving buffer resource status and a scoreboard resource.
- the current resource status of the AP may be the size of the receiving buffer currently occupied by the AP and the size of the scoreboard; or the current resource status of the AP may be the size of the receiving buffer of the AP and the size of the received receiving buffer, and The size of the AP's scoreboard and the size of the occupied scoreboard.
- the AP may determine, according to the current resource status of the AP, whether the current resource status can buffer the uplink data stream and score the uplink data stream; if yes, the AP agrees to adopt a block response mode and is the uplink data stream.
- the receive buffer is allocated, the scoreboard resource is set, and the corresponding block response setup response ADDBA Response is returned to the STA.
- the foregoing AP when determining whether to agree to adopt the block response mode, the foregoing AP considers the current receiving buffer resource status and the scoreboard resource as only an exemplary description, and may also need to consider other resources required for establishing a block response. Not limited to this.
- the present application is merely an exemplary description of how the AP determines whether to agree to the block response mode according to the current resource status of the AP, and details are not described herein.
- the STA receives the ADDBA Response sent by the AP; if the AP agrees to the block response, please If so, the STA sends the corresponding data packet to the AP in sequence.
- the AP receives the data packet sent by the STA, buffers the data packet to the allocated receiving buffer, and updates the corresponding scoreboard.
- the STA After the STA sends multiple data packets in sequence (the maximum value is the receive buffer size), the STA sends a block acknowledgement request Block Ack Request message to the AP.
- the AP After receiving the Block Ack Request message sent by the STA, the AP generates a block acknowledgement Block Ack message according to the received data message and the scoreboard condition, and sends the block Ack message to the STA.
