Description

撮像装置
 本発明は、撮像装置に関する。
 NBI(Narrow Band Imaging、狭帯域光観察)撮像では、狭帯域光を照射して撮像する。そして、イメージセンサが備える画素のうち、B画素(青色光を検出する画素)の信号を主に用いて強調処理することで、粘膜表層の毛細血管と粘膜微細模様が強調表示される。これにより、表層の血管の情報を得ることができ、癌の観察などに有効であることが知られている。
 なお、NBI撮像に一般的なRGBベイヤー配列のイメージセンサを使用すると、B画素は4画素に1画素しかないため十分な解像度が確保できない。そこで、RGBベイヤー配列のイメージセンサが備える画素のうち、G画素の割合を4画素に1画素とし、B画素の割合を4画素に2画素としたRGBベイヤー配列とは異なる画素配列のイメージセンサが知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
 図15は、従来知られている、RGBベイヤー配列のイメージセンサが備える画素のうち、G画素の割合を4画素に1画素とし、B画素の割合を4画素に2画素としたイメージセンサの画素配列を示した概略図である。図示する例では、イメージセンサ2000の奇数行目には、G画素2001とB画素2002とが交互に配置されている。また、イメージセンサ2000の偶数行目には、B画素2002とR画素2003とが交互に配置されている。

 しかしながら、従来知られている技術では、RGBベイヤー配列のイメージセンサが備える画素のうちG画素の割合を4画素に1画素としているため、通常のRGB画像の解像度が劣化してしまう。
 そこで本発明の幾つかの態様は、RGB画像の解像度の劣化を抑えつつ、NBI画像の解像度を向上させる撮像装置を提供する。
 本発明の第1の態様によれば、撮像装置は、複数の第1画素と複数の第2画素とを有する第1基板と、複数の第3画素を有し、前記第1基板に対向する第2基板と、信号を生成する処理部と、を備え、前記複数の第3画素は、前記複数の第1画素の透過光を受光し、前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過し、前記複数の第2画素は、青色光の波長を含み、赤色光の波長と緑色光の波長とを含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、前記複数の第3画素は、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、前記複数の第1の画素と前記複数の第2の画素とは互いに対応しており、前記処理部は、少なくとも前記複数の第1画素の出力と前記複数の第3画素の出力から、緑色光の波長を含み、青色光の波長と赤色光の波長とを含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を生成する。
 本発明の第2の態様によれば、第1の態様において、前記複数の第2画素に対応する領域には複数の回路領域が配置され、前記複数の回路領域は、少なくとも前記複数の第3画素の読出しを行うようにしてもよい。
 本発明の第3の態様によれば、第2の態様において、前記複数の回路領域は、前記複数の第1画素および前記複数の第2画素の読出しを行うようにしてもよい。
 本発明の第4の態様によれば、第1の態様において、前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長および青色光の波長とを含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤い露光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過するようにしてもよい。
 本発明の第5の態様によれば、第1の態様において、前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長を含み、青色光の波長を含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過するようにしてもよい。
 本発明の第6の態様によれば、第1の態様において、狭帯域光を照射することにより、粘膜表層の毛細血管を強調表示して観察する撮像装置であって、前記第1基板が有する前記複数の第1画素と前記複数の第2画素とが出力した信号から第1画像を作成し、前記第2基板が有する前記複数の第3が出力した信号から第2画像を作成するようにしてもよい。
 上記の各態様によれば、RGB画像の解像度の劣化を抑えつつ、NBI画像の解像度を向上させることができる。

 図面を参照し、本発明の実施形態を説明する。
 (第1の実施形態)
 図1は、本発明の第1の実施形態における撮像素子100の断面を示した断面図である。図示する例では、撮像素子100は、第1基板101と、第2基板102と、複数の第1画素103と、複数の第2画素104と、複数の第3画素105とを備えている。また、入射光が照射される側を受光面とする。
 第1基板101と、第2基板102とは積層されている。第1基板101および第2基板102はシリコン基板である。また、第1基板101は入射された光のうち、一部の光を透過する。
 第1画素103は、第1基板101内に配置されている。第1画素103は、光を検出する第1フォトダイオード113を備えている。これにより、第1画素103は、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号、ホワイト信号)を出力する。以下、第1画素103をW画素とも呼ぶ。
 第2画素104は、第1基板101内に配置されている。第2画素104は、青色光を検出する第2フォトダイオード114を備えている。これにより、第2画素104は、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号、ブルー信号)を出力する。以下、第2画素104をB画素とも呼ぶ。
 第3画素105は、第2基板102内に配置されている。第3画素105は、赤色光を検出する第3フォトダイオード115を備えている。これにより、第3画素105は、第1基板101を透過した入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号、レッド信号)を出力する。以下、第3画素105をR画素とも呼ぶ。
 なお、第1フォトダイオード113の深さは、第2フォトダイオードよりも深い。従って、第1フォトダイオード113と第2フォトダイオード114が検出する光の種類が異なる。また、第1フォトダイオード113の深さと、第3フォトダイオード115の深さは同じであるが、入射する光が異なるため、第1フォトダイオード113と第3フォトダイオード115が検出する光が異なる。図示する例では、第1フォトダイオード113には、入射光が直接入射する。一方、第3フォトダイオード115には、第1基板101を透過した入射光が入射する。
 次に、第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との配列について説明する。図2は、本実施形態における第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との配列を示した概略図である。図2に示す例では、第1基板101には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第1画素103と、8個の第2画素104とが含まれている。また、第2基板102には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された計16個の第3画素105が含まれている。
 図2に示すとおり、第1基板101には、第1画素103と第2画素104とが交互に配列されている。また、第1画素103と第2画素104には、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板101では、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板102には、第3画素105が配置されている。また、第3画素105には、入射光のうち第1基板101を透過した光が入射される。また、第1基板101はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板102では、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 従って、このような第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との配置により、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)とを同時に出力することができる。
 なお、第1基板101に含まれる第1画素103および第2画素104と、第2基板102に含まれる第3画素105との数および配列は、図2に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図2に示す例では、第1画素103および第2画素104の下に第3画素105を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素105の画素サイズを、第1画素103および第2画素104の画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第1画素103の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。
 図3は、本実施形態において、第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との感度と、シリコン基板の透過率とを示したグラフである。グラフの横軸は波長(nm)を示す。グラフの左縦軸は、第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との感度を示す。グラフの右縦軸は、シリコン基板の透過率を示す。
 線301は、第1画素103(W画素)の感度を示した線である。図示するように、第1画素103は、380nm~1400nmの波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。このように、第1画素103は、赤色光の波長と、緑色光の波長と、青色光の波長とを含む波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。
 線302は、第2画素104(B画素)の感度を示した線である。図示するように、第2画素104は、380nmから500nmの波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。このように、第2画素104は、青色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。
 線303は、第3画素105(R画素)の感度を示した線である。図示するように、第3画素105は、550nm~800nmの波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。このように、第3画素105は、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた感度を有する。
 線304は、シリコン基板の透過率を示した線である。図示するように、シリコン基板は、500nm~1500nmの波長帯域の光を透過する。このように、シリコン基板は、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、入射光のうち赤色光は、第1基板101を透過し、第2基板102に入射する。従って、第1基板101と第2基板102とが積層していても、第2基板102の第3画素105は、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。これにより、第2基板102には、波長の長い光を検出する画素(例えば、第3画素105)を使用することができる。
 なお、シリコン基板は、青色光の波長の波長帯域の光は透過しない。従って、第2基板102に第2画素104を配置したとしても、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号を出力することができない。これにより、第2基板102には、波長の短い光を検出する画素(例えば、第2画素104)を使用することができない。
 次に、撮像装置1の構成について説明する。図4は、本実施形態における撮像装置1の構成を示したブロック図である。撮像装置1は、撮像素子100と信号処理部106とを備えている。撮像素子100は、第1基板101と第2基板102とを備えている。第1基板101は、第1基板画素部1011を備えている。
 第1基板画素部1011は、第1基板画素1012と第1基板画素読み出し回路1013とを備えている。第1基板画素1012は、上述した複数の第1画素103と複数の第2画素104とを含む。第2基板102は、第2基板画素部1021と、駆動部1024と、信号読み出し部1025とを備えている。第2基板画素部1021は、第2基板画素1022と、第2基板画素読み出し回路1023とを備えている。第2基板画素1022は、上述した複数の第3画素103を含む。
 駆動部1024は、制御信号を送信し、第1基板画素部1011と、第2基板画素部1021とを駆動する。信号読み出し部1025は、信号のノイズを除去する回路と、A/D変換を行う回路と、走査回路とを含む。信号読み出し部1025は、第1基板画素読み出し回路1013を制御し、第1基板画素1012から、第1信号と第2信号とを読み出す。また、信号読み出し部1025は、第2基板画素読み出し回路1023を制御し、第2基板画素1022から第3信号を読み出す。
 信号処理部106は、信号読み出し部1025が読み出した第1信号と、第2信号と、第3信号とを用いて画像を生成する。具体的には、信号処理部106は、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)とを用いて演算し、緑色光の信号(G信号)を生成する。そして、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)と、生成した緑色光の信号(G信号)とで、RGB画像を生成する。また、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)を用いて、NBI画像を生成する。
 なお、第1基板101と第2基板102との間の信号の伝送は、どのように行ってもよい。例えば、第1基板101と第2基板102との間に貫通電極を設けて、第1基板101と第2基板102との間の信号の伝送を行ってもよい。また、例えば、第1基板101と第2基板102との外に伝送路を設けて、第1基板101と第2基板102との間の信号の伝送を行ってもよい。
 次に、撮像素子100の駆動タイミングについて説明する。図5は、本実施形態における撮像素子100の駆動タイミングを示したタイミングチャートである。図示する例では、第1基板101が備える第1画素103と第2画素104との駆動タイミングを示したタイミングチャート501と、第2基板102が備える第3画素105の駆動タイミングを示したタイミングチャート502とを示している。なお、タイミングチャートの横軸は時間である。
 図示するとおり、本実施形態では、第3画素105の電荷蓄積時間(露光時間)は、第1画素103と第2画素104との電荷蓄積時間(露光時間)よりも長い。これは、第3画素105には、第1基板101を透過した光のみが照射されるため、第3画素105に照射される光量が、第1画素103と第2画素104とに照射される光量よりも小さいためである。なお、本実施形態では、第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との露光開始タイミングが同一のフレームの開始タイミングとなるように、各画素から信号を読み出す時間である読み出し時間を設定している。
 上述したとおり、本実施形態によれば、第1基板101と第2基板102とを積層している。また、第2基板102は、第1基板101の受光面側から見て、第1基板101と重複する位置かつ第1基板101の受光面側とは反対側に配置されている。また、第1基板101は光を透過する。また、第1基板101を透過した光は、第2基板102に照射される。
 これにより、第1基板101の第1画素103と第2画素104と、第2基板102の第3画素105とは同時に露光することができる。すなわち、第1画素103による第1信号の生成と、第2画素104による第2信号の生成と、第3画素105による第3信号の生成とを同時に行うことができる。従って、信号処理部106は、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)とに基づいたRGB画像と、第2信号(B信号)に基づいて強調処理を行ったNBI画像とを同時に生成することができる。
 また、上述したとおり、本実施形態において、第2画素104の割合は、第1基板101が備える画素のうち4画素に2画素の割合である。従って、第2信号(B信号)をより多く取得することができるため、NBI画像の解像度を向上させることができる。また、本実施形態において、緑色光の信号(G信号)は、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)とを用いて生成している。第1画素103の割合は、第1基板101が備える画素のうち4画素に2画素の割合である。また、第2画素104の割合は、第1基板101が備える画素のうち4画素に2画素の割合である。また、第3画素105の割合は、第2基板102が備える画素全てである。従って、緑色光の信号(G信号)の解像度を良くすることができ、RGB画像の解像も良くすることができる。
 なお、上述した例では、第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105とは、フォトダイオード113~115の厚さや入射する光を変えることで、異なる種類の信号を生成しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第1画素と、第2画素と、第3画素とは、異なるカラーフィルタを備えることで、異なる種類の信号を生成するようにしてもよい。
 図6は、本実施形態において、第1画素203と、第2画素204と、第3画素205とが異なるカラーフィルタを備える撮像素子200の断面を示した断面図である。図示する例では、撮像素子200は、第1基板201と、第2基板102と、複数の第1画素203と、複数の第2画素204と、複数の第3画素205とを備えている。また、入射光が照射される側を受光面とする。
 第1基板201と、第2基板202とは積層されている。第1基板201および第2基板202はシリコン基板である。また、第1基板201は入射された光のうち、一部の光を透過する。
 第1画素203は、第1基板201内に配置されている。第1画素203は、光を検出する第1フォトダイオード213と、全ての波長の光を透過するカラーフィルタ223とを備えている。これにより、第1画素203は、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号、ホワイト信号)を出力する。なお、カラーフィルタ223は、赤外光のみを透過しないものを用いてもよい。
 第2画素204は、第1基板201内に配置されている。第2画素204は、光を検出する第2フォトダイオード214と、青色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ224とを備えている。これにより、第2画素204は、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号、ブルー信号)を出力する。
 第3画素205は、第2基板202内に配置されている。第3画素205は、光を検出する第3フォトダイオード215と、赤色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ225とを備えている。これにより、第3画素205は、第1基板201を透過した入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号、レッド信号)を出力する。
 なお、第1画素203と、第2画素204と、第3画素205との配置は、図2に示した第1画素103と、第2画素104と、第3画素105との配置と同様である。また、撮像素子200を備えた撮像装置の構成および動作は、図4に示した撮像装置1の構成および動作と同様である。
 従って、撮像素子200を備えた撮像装置は、上述した撮像装置1と同様に、RGB画像と、第2信号(B信号)に基づいて強調処理を行ったNBI画像とを同時に生成することができる。また、撮像素子200を備えた撮像装置は、上述した撮像装置1と同様に、NBI画像の解像度を向上させることができる。また、撮像素子200を備えた撮像装置は、上述した撮像装置1と同様に、RGB画像の解像も良くすることができる。
 (第2の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第2の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態における撮像装置と、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1とで異なる点は、撮像素子の構成である。第1の実施形態における撮像素子100と本実施形態における撮像素子400とで異なる点は、第2基板402に回路部406が設けられている点である。その他の構成および動作は、第1の実施形態と同様である。
 図7は、本発明の第2の実施形態における撮像素子400の断面を示した断面図である。図示する例では、撮像素子400は、第1基板401と、第2基板402と、複数の第1画素403と、複数の第2画素404と、複数の第3画素405と、回路部406とを備えている。また、入射光が照射される側を受光面とする。
 第1画素403は、第1基板401内に配置されている。第1画素403は、光を検出する第1フォトダイオード413と、全ての波長の光を透過するカラーフィルタ423とを備えている。これにより、第1画素403は、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号、ホワイト信号)を出力する。なお、カラーフィルタ423は、赤外光のみを透過しないものを用いてもよい。
 第2画素404は、第1基板401内に配置されている。第2画素404は、光を検出する第2フォトダイオード414と、青色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ424とを備えている。これにより、第2画素404は、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号、ブルー信号)を出力する。
 第3画素405は、第2基板402内に配置されている。第3画素405は、光を検出する第3フォトダイオード415と、赤色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ425とを備えている。これにより、第3画素405は、第1基板401を透過した入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号、レッド信号)を出力する。
 回路部406は、駆動部1024や信号読み出し部1025などの回路を備える。これにより、駆動部1024や信号読み出し部1025などの回路は、回路部406に配置することができる。
 次に、第1画素403と、第2画素404と、第3画素405と、回路部406との配列について説明する。図8は、本実施形態における第1画素403と、第2画素404と、第3画素405と、回路部406との配列を示した概略図である。図8に示す例では、第1基板401には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第1画素403と、8個の第2画素404とが含まれている。また、第2基板402には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第3画素405と、8個の回路部406とが含まれている。
 図8に示すとおり、第1基板401には、第1画素403と第2画素404とが交互に配列されている。また、第1画素403と第2画素404とには、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板401では、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板402には、第3画素405と回路部406とが交互に配置されている。また、第3画素405は、第1画素403を透過した光が入射される位置に配置されている。すなわち、第3画素405は、第1画素403の下に配置されている。また、回路部406は、第2画素404の下に配置されている。
 この配置により、第3画素405には、入射光のうち第1基板101の第1画素403を透過した光が入射される。また、第1画素403が備えるカラーフィルタ423は、全ての光を透過する。また、第1基板401はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板402の第3画素405は、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 また、第2画素404が備えるカラーフィルタ424は、青色光のみを透過する。すなわち、赤色光を透過しない。よって、第2画素404を透過する光には、赤色光が含まれない。従って、第2画素404の下に第3画素405を配置したとしても、赤色光を精度良く検出することが難しい。また、例えば、駆動部1024や、信号読み出し部1025や、第2基板画素読み出し回路1023などの回路を第3画素405の周囲に配置すると、第3画素405の開口率が低下し、第3信号のS/Nが低下することが考えられる。
 そこで、本実施形態では、赤色光が透過しない第2画素404の下に、駆動部1024や、信号読み出し部1025や、第2基板画素読み出し回路1023などを回路部406として配置することで、第3画素405の開口率を高くすることができる。従って、第3画素405が出力する第3信号のS/Nを高くすることができる。
 なお、第1基板401に含まれる第1画素403および第2画素404と、第2基板402に含まれる第3画素405および回路部406との数および配列は、図8に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図8に示す例では、第1画素403の下に第3画素405を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素405の画素サイズを、第1画素403の画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第1画素403の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。また、例えば、回路部406のサイズを、第2画素404の画素サイズとは異なる大きさにするなどの工夫も可能である。
 また、撮像素子400を備えた撮像装置の構成および動作は、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1と同様である。例えば、信号処理部106によるRGB画像の生成方法と、NBI画像の生成方法とは、第1の実施形態と同様の方法である。
 (第3の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第3の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態における撮像装置と、第2の実施形態における撮像装置とで異なる点は、撮像素子の構成である。第2の実施形態における撮像素子400と本実施形態における撮像素子600とで異なる点は、第2基板602に設けられる回路部606の数および配列である。なお、その他の構成は、第2の実施形態と同様である。
 図9は、本実施形態における第1画素603と、第2画素604と、第3画素605と、回路部606との配列を示した概略図である。図9に示す例では、第1基板601には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第1画素603と、8個の第2画素604とが含まれている。また、第2基板602には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された4個の第3画素605と、12個の回路部606とが含まれている。
 図9に示すとおり、第1基板601には、第1画素603と第2画素604とが交互に配列されている。また、第1画素603と第2画素604とには、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板601では、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板602の奇数行目には、第3画素605と回路部606とが交互に配置されている。また、第2基板602の偶数行目には回路部606が配置されている。また、第3画素605は、第1画素603を透過した光が入射される位置に配置されている。すなわち、第3画素605は、第1画素603の下に配置されている。
 この配置により、第3画素605には、入射光のうち第1基板601の第1画素603を透過した光が入射される。また、第1画素603が備えるカラーフィルタ(第2の実施形態のカラーフィルタ423と同一)は、全ての光を透過する。また、第1基板601はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板602の第3画素605は、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 このように、本実施形態では、第2の実施形態よりも回路部606の数を増やすことで、例えば、第1基板601に配置されている第1基板画素読み出し回路1013を、回路部606に配置することができる。これにより、第1基板601には第1基板画素読み出し回路1013を配置する必要がなくなり、第1画素603と第2画素604との開口率を高くすることができる。従って、第1画素603が出力する第1信号と、第2画素604が出力する第2信号とのS/Nを高くすることができる。
 なお、第1基板601に含まれる第1画素603および第2画素604と、第2基板602に含まれる第3画素605および回路部606との数および配列は、図9に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図9に示す例では、第1画素603の下に第3画素605を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素605の画素サイズを、第1画素603の画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第1画素603の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。また、例えば、回路部606のサイズを、第1画素603または第2画素604の画素サイズとは異なる大きさにするなどの工夫も可能である。
 また、撮像素子600を備えた撮像装置の構成および動作は、第2の実施形態における撮像装置と同様である。例えば、信号処理部106によるRGB画像の生成方法と、NBI画像の生成方法とは、第2の実施形態と同様の方法である。
 (第4の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第4の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態における撮像装置と、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1とで異なる点は、撮像素子の構成である。第1の実施形態における撮像素子100と本実施形態における撮像素子700とで異なる点は、第1基板701と第2基板702との間に接合電極706が設けられ、第2基板702のうち接合電極706が設けられている箇所には第3画素705が設けられていない点である。その他の構成および動作は、第1の実施形態と同様である。
 図10は、本発明の第4の実施形態における撮像素子700の断面を示した断面図である。図示する例では、撮像素子700は、第1基板701と、第2基板702と、複数の第1画素703と、複数の第2画素704と、複数の第3画素705と、接合電極706とを備えている。また、入射光が照射される側を受光面とする。
 第1画素703は、第1基板701内に配置されている。第1画素703は、光を検出する第1フォトダイオード713と、全ての波長の光を透過するカラーフィルタ723とを備えている。これにより、第1画素703は、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号、ホワイト信号)を出力する。なお、カラーフィルタ423は、赤外光のみを透過しないものを用いてもよい。
 第2画素704は、第1基板701内に配置されている。第2画素704は、光を検出する第2フォトダイオード714と、青色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ724とを備えている。これにより、第2画素704は、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号、ブルー信号)を出力する。
 第3画素705は、第2基板702内に配置されている。第3画素705は、光を検出する第3フォトダイオード715と、赤色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタ725とを備えている。これにより、第3画素705は、第1基板701を透過した入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号、レッド信号)を出力する。
 接合電極706は、第1基板701と第2基板702との間の信号を伝送する。これにより、第1基板701と第2基板702との間で信号の伝送を行うことができる。
 次に、第1画素703と、第2画素704と、第3画素705と、接合電極706との配列について説明する。図11は、本実施形態における第1画素703と、第2画素704と、第3画素705と、接合電極706との配列を示した概略図である。図11に示す例では、第1基板701には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第1画素703と、8個の第2画素704とが含まれている。また、第2基板702には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第3画素705と、8個の接合電極706とが含まれている。
 図8に示すとおり、第1基板701には、第1画素703と第2画素704とが交互に配列されている。また、第1画素703と第2画素704とには、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板701では、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板702には、第3画素705と接合電極706とが交互に配置されている。また、第3画素705は、第1画素703を透過した光が入射される位置に配置されている。すなわち、第3画素705は、第1画素703の下に配置されている。また、接合電極706は、第2画素704の下に配置されている。
 この配置により、第3画素705には、入射光のうち第1基板701の第1画素703を透過した光が入射される。また、第1画素703が備えるカラーフィルタ723は、全ての光を透過する。また、第1基板701はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板702の第3画素705は、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 また、第2画素704が備えるカラーフィルタ724は、青色光のみを透過する。すなわち、赤色光を透過しない。よって、第2画素704を透過する光には、赤色光が含まれない。従って、第2画素704の下に第3画素705を配置したとしても、赤色光を精度良く検出することが難しい。また、例えば、第1基板701と第2基板702との間に接合電極などを設けて、第1基板701と第2基板702との間の信号の伝送を行う場合、第3画素705の開口率が低下することが考えられる。また、第3画素705の開口率が低下すると、第3画素705が出力する第3信号のS/Nが低下することが考えられる。
 そこで、本実施形態では、赤色光が透過しない第2画素704の下に接合電極706を配置することで、第3画素705の開口率を高くすることができる。従って、第3画素705が出力する第3信号のS/Nを高くすることができる。
 なお、第1基板701に含まれる第1画素703および第2画素704と、第2基板702に含まれる第3画素705および接合電極706との数および配列は、図11に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図11に示す例では、第1画素703の下に第3画素705を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素705の画素サイズを、第1画素703の画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第1画素703の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。また、例えば、接合電極706のサイズを、第2画素704の画素サイズとは異なる大きさにするなどの工夫も可能である。
 また、撮像素子700を備えた撮像装置の構成および動作は、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1と同様である。例えば、信号処理部106によるRGB画像の生成方法と、NBI画像の生成方法とは、第1の実施形態と同様の方法である。
 (第5の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第5の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態における撮像装置と、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1とで異なる点は、撮像素子の構成である。第1の実施形態における撮像素子100と本実施形態における撮像素子800とで異なる点は、第1基板801に、入射光のうち緑色光の露光量に応じた第4信号(G信号、グリーン信号)を出力する第4画素806が設けられている点である。その他の構成は、第1の実施形態と同様である。
 なお、第4画素806は、緑色光を検出するフォトダイオードを備えることで、入射光のうち緑色光の露光量に応じた第4信号を出力するようにしてもよい。また、第4画素806は、光を検出するフォトダイオードと、緑色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタとを備えることで、入射光のうち緑色光の露光量に応じた第4信号を出力するようにしてもよい。
 図12は、本実施形態における第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第3画素805と、第4画素806との配列を示した概略図である。図12に示す例では、第1基板801には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された4個の第1画素803と、8個の第2画素804と、4個の第3画素806とが含まれている。また、第2基板802には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された16個の第3画素405が含まれている。
 図12に示すとおり、第1基板801の奇数行目には、第1画素803と第2画素804とが交互に配置されている。また、第1基板802の偶数行目には第2画素804と第4画素806とが交互に配置されている。また、第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第4画素805とには、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板801では、入射光の露光量に応じた第1信号(W信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)と、入射光のうち緑色光の露光量に応じた第4信号(G信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板802には、第3画素805が配置されている。また、第3画素805には、入射光のうち第1基板801を透過した光が入射される。また、第1基板801はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板802では、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 従って、このような第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第3画素805と、第4画素806との配置により、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)と、第4信号(G信号)とを同時に出力することができる。
 なお、第1基板801に含まれる第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第4画素806と、第2基板802に含まれる第3画素805との数および配列は、図12に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図12に示す例では、第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第4画素806との下に、第3画素805を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素805の画素サイズを、第1画素803と、第2画素804と、第4画素806との画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第1画素803の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。
 次に、本実施形態におけるRGB画像とNBI画像との生成方法について説明する。信号処理部106は、信号読み出し部1025が読み出した第2信号と、第3信号と、第4信号とを用いて画像を生成する。具体的には、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)と、第4信号(G信号と)で、RGB画像を生成する。また、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)を用いて、NBI画像を生成する。
 なお、第1信号(W信号)と、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)とを用いて演算し、緑色光の信号(G信号)を生成してもよい。そして、生成した緑色光の信号(G信号)と、第4信号(G信号)との両方をRGB画像の生成に用いてもよい。
 このように本実施形態によれば、第1基板801に第4画素806を設けることで、信号処理を行うことなくG信号(第4信号)を得ることができる。また、信号処理を行うことなくG信号を得ることができるため、より色再現性の高いRGB画像を得ることができる。
 (第6の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第6の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態における撮像装置と、第1の実施形態における撮像装置1とで異なる点は、撮像素子の構成である。第1の実施形態における撮像素子100と本実施形態における撮像素子900とで異なる点は、第1基板901に、入射光のうち黄色光の露光量に応じた第5信号(Y信号、イエロー信号)を出力する第5画素906が、第1画素103の代わりに設けられている点である。その他の構成は、第1の実施形態と同様である。
 なお、第5画素906は、黄色光を検出するフォトダイオードを備えることで、入射光のうち黄色光の露光量に応じた第5信号を出力するようにしてもよい。また、第5画素906は、光を検出するフォトダイオードと、黄色光のみを透過するカラーフィルタとを備えることで、入射光のうち黄色光の露光量に応じた第5信号を出力するようにしてもよい。
 図13は、本実施形態における第2画素904と、第3画素905と、第5画素906との配列を示した概略図である。図13に示す例では、第1基板901には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された8個の第4画素906と、8個の第2画素904とが含まれている。また、第2基板902には、4行4列の二次元状に規則的に配列された16個の第3画素905が含まれている。
 図13に示すとおり、第1基板901には、第5画素906と第2画素904とが交互に配置されている。また、第5画素906と第2画素904とには、入射光が直接入射される。よって、第1基板901では、入射光のうち黄色光の露光量に応じた第5信号(Y信号)と、入射光のうち青色光の露光量に応じた第2信号(B信号)とを出力することができる。
 また、第2基板902には、第3画素905が配置されている。また、第3画素905には、入射光のうち第1基板901を透過した光が入射される。また、第1基板901はシリコン基板であり、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域の光を透過する。よって、第2基板902では、入射光のうち赤色光の露光量に応じた第3信号(R信号)を出力することができる。
 従って、このような第2画素904と、第3画素905と、第5画素906との配置により、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)と、第5信号(Y信号)とを同時に出力することができる。
 なお、第1基板901に含まれる第5画素906および第2画素904と、第2基板902に含まれる第3画素905との数および配列は、図13に示す例に限らず、どのような数および配列でもよい。また、図13に示す例では、第5画素906および第2画素904の下に、第3画素905を対応して配置しているが、これに限らない。例えば、第3画素905の画素サイズを、第5画素906および第2画素904の画素サイズとは異なる大きさ(例えば、第5画素906の整数倍)にするなどの工夫も可能である。
 次に、本実施形態におけるRGB画像とNBI画像との生成方法について説明する。信号処理部106は、信号読み出し部1025が読み出した第2信号と、第3信号と、第5信号とを用いて画像を生成する。具体的には、信号処理部106は、第3信号(R信号)と第5信号(Y信号)とを用いて演算し、緑色光の信号(G信号)を生成する。そして、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)と、第3信号(R信号)と、生成した緑色光の信号(G信号)とで、RGB画像を生成する。また、信号処理部106は、第2信号(B信号)を用いて、NBI画像を生成する。
 このように本実施形態によれば、第1基板901に第5画素906を設けた場合においても、RGB画像とNBI画像との両方を同時に生成することができる。
 (第7の実施形態)
 次に、本発明の第7の実施形態について説明する。本実施形態では、第1の実施形態~第6の実施形態に記載した撮像素子100,200,400,600,700,800,900のうち、いずれかを内蔵した撮像装置3000(内視鏡型撮像装置、内視鏡装置)について説明する。
 図14は、本実施形態における撮像装置3000の構成を示したブロック図である。図示する例では、撮像装置3000は、内視鏡スコープ3001と、信号処理部3002と、モニタ3003と、光源部3004とを備えている。信号処理部3002は、RGB画像とNBI画像とを生成する。また、信号処理部3002は、撮像装置3000の各部の制御を行う。モニタ3003は、例えば液晶ディスプレイであり、画像を表示する。光源部3004は、例えはLEDであり、光を発する。
 内視鏡スコープ3001は、撮像素子3011と、撮像レンズ3012と、ライトガイド3013と、照明レンズ3014とを備えている。撮像素子3011は、第1の実施形態~第4の実施形態に記載した撮像素子100,200,400,600,700,800,900のいずれかである。撮像素子3011は、内視鏡スコープ3001の先端部に配置されている。また、撮像レンズ3012は、撮像素子3011の受光面側に配置されている。また、照明レンズ3014は、内視鏡スコープ3001の先端部に配置されている。
 ライトガイド3013は、光源部3004が発した光を照明レンズ3014に照射する。照明レンズ3014は、ライトガイド3013から照射される光を集光し、被写体に照射する。撮像レンズ3012は、被写体からの光を集光し、撮像素子3011に照射する。
 撮像素子3011は、撮像レンズ3012により照射された光に基づいて、信号を出力する。信号処理部3002は、撮像素子3011が生成した信号に基づいて、RGB画像とNBI画像とを生成する。なお、RGB画像とNBI画像の生成方法は、第1の実施形態~第6の実施形態に記載した方法と同様である。モニタ3003は、信号処理部3002が生成したRGB画像や、NBI画像等を表示する。
 例えば、第1の実施形態~第6の実施形態に記載した撮像素子100,200,400,600,700,800,900は、高精度なRGB画像とNBI画像とを同時に撮像することができる。よって、第1の実施形態~第6の実施形態に記載した撮像素子100,200,400,600,700,800,900のいずれかを撮像装置3000に用いることで、高精度なRGB画像とNBI画像とを同時に撮像することができる。例えば、高精度なRGB画像とNBI画像とを、癌の観察などに役立てることができる。
 また、例えば、光源部から中心波長415nm、半値幅30nmの狭帯域な光を被写体に照射して、撮像装置3000で撮像することで、毛細血管の状態をより鮮明に観察ことが可能になる。
 以上、本発明の好ましい実施形態を説明したが、本発明はこれら実施形態及びその変形例に限定されることはない。本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で、構成の付加、省略、置換、およびその他の変更が可能である。
 また、本発明は前述した説明によって限定されることはなく、添付のクレームの範囲によってのみ限定される。

Claims (6)

  1.  複数の第1画素と複数の第2画素とを有する第1基板と、
     複数の第3画素を有し、前記第1基板に対向する第2基板と、
     信号を生成する処理部と、
     を備え、
     前記複数の第3画素は、前記複数の第1画素の透過光を受光し、
     前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過し、
     前記複数の第2画素は、青色光の波長を含み、赤色光の波長と緑色光の波長とを含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、
     前記複数の第3画素は、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、
     前記複数の第1の画素と前記複数の第2の画素とは互いに対応しており、
     前記処理部は、少なくとも前記複数の第1画素の出力と前記複数の第3画素の出力から、緑色光の波長を含み、青色光の波長と赤色光の波長とを含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を生成する
     撮像装置。
  2.  前記複数の第2画素に対応する領域には複数の回路領域が配置され、
     前記複数の回路領域は、少なくとも前記複数の第3画素の読出しを行う
     請求項1に記載の撮像装置。
  3.  前記複数の回路領域は、前記複数の第1画素および前記複数の第2画素の読出しを行う
     請求項2に記載の撮像装置。
  4.  前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長および青色光の波長とを含む波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤い露光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過する
     請求項1に記載の撮像装置。
  5.  前記複数の第1画素は、緑色光の波長を含み、青色光の波長を含まない波長帯域に応じた信号を出力し、赤色光の波長を含む波長帯域を透過する
     請求項1に記載の撮像装置。
  6.  狭帯域光を照射することにより、粘膜表層の毛細血管を強調表示して観察する撮像装置であって、
     前記第1基板が有する前記複数の第1画素と前記複数の第2画素とが出力した信号から第1画像を作成し、
     前記第2基板が有する前記複数の第3が出力した信号から第2画像を作成する
     請求項1に記載の撮像装置。
