Abstract

 本発明は、血管の内腔面の円形度を血管軸に沿って視覚的にわかりやすく表示する。このため、イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づいて生成した、血管軸に沿った断面画像を生成する。また、このとき、表示される断面画像と並列して、血管軸に直交する断面画像における円形度の度合を示す像も表示する。

Description

画像診断装置、その制御方法、プログラム及びコンピュータ可読記憶媒体
 本発明は画像診断装置及びその制御方法、プログラム及びコンピュータ可読記憶媒体に関するものである。
 バルーンカテーテル、ステント等の高機能カテーテルによる血管内治療が行われている。この手術前の診断、或いは、手術後の経過確認のため、光干渉断層診断装置(OCT:Optical Coherence Tomography)や血管内超音波診断装置(IVUS:IntraVascular Ultra Sound)等の画像診断装置が用いられるのが一般的になってきた。また、OCTの改良型として、波長掃引を利用した光干渉断層診断装置(SS-OCT:Swept-source Optical coherence Tomography)も開発されている。そして、最近では、IVUSの機能と、OCTの機能とを組み合わせた画像診断装置(超音波を送受信可能な超音波送受信部と、光を送受信可能な光送受信部とを備える画像診断装置)も提案されている。
 ステントを配置する目的の1つは、血管の狭窄部位における血流の確保である。そのため、上記診断装置における手術前の診断は、血管の狭窄部位の位置、径、長さを診断するために用いられる。その上で、利用するステントの寸法等を決定することになる。
 これまでのステントはステンレスなどの金属製であったに対し、近年ではポリマーで生成され、生体に吸収される生体吸収性ステント(Bioresorbable stent)が利用されるようになってきている。しかし、生体吸収性ステントの場合、それまでの金属製ステントと比較して、許容される過拡張サイズが小さい。また、留置後のステントの形状が円に近くなることも推奨されている。かかる要求に応えるため、ステントの留置前に該当する患部血管をバルーン拡張し、病変部位の断面を可能な限り円に近づけることが行われている(特許文献1)。

 先に示した診断装置では血管内腔の断面図を生成することができるので、その断面を見れば、血管内腔面が円から逸脱した形状となっているのか否かを診断することができる。しかしながら、その診断は、個々の断面についての診断に留まる。ステントの留置前診断では、どの程度の長さのステントを用いるか、ステントの両端位置をどこに位置させるか等が重要になってくるので、これらの診断をするのに好都合な表示形式が望まれる。
 本発明は係る問題に鑑みなされたものであり、内腔面の円形度を血管軸に沿って視覚的にわかりやすく表示する技術を提供しようとするものである。
 上記課題を解決するため、例えば本発明の画像診断装置は以下の構成を有する。すなわち、
 信号を出射及び受信するイメージングコアを回転自在に、且つ、回転軸に沿って移動可能に収容したプローブを用いて、血管内腔の画像を取得するための画像診断装置であって、
 前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、前記回転軸に沿った各位置における、当該回転軸に対して直交する断面画像を生成する第1の画像生成手段と、
 前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、血管軸に沿った断面画像を生成する第2の画像生成手段と、
 前記第1の画像生成手段で生成した各断面画像における内腔面の円形の度合を示す円形度を算出する算出手段と、
 前記第2の画像生成手段で生成した断面画像と、前記算出手段で算出した円形度とを対応付けて表示する表示手段とを有する。
 本発明によれば、内腔面の円形度を血管軸に沿って視覚的にわかりやすく表示することが可能になる。
 本発明のその他の特徴及び利点は、添付図面を参照とした以下の説明により明らかになるであろう。なお、添付図面においては、同じ若しくは同様の構成には、同じ参照番号を付す。
 添付図面は明細書に含まれ、その一部を構成し、本発明の実施の形態を示し、その記述と共に本発明の原理を説明するために用いられる。

 以下、本発明に係わる実施の形態について添付図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
 [第1の実施形態]
 図1は、本発明の一実施の形態に係わる波長掃引を利用した画像診断装置100の全体構成の一例を示す図である。
 画像診断装置100は、プローブ(もしくはカテーテル)101と、プルバック部102と、操作制御装置103で構成され、プルバック部102と操作制御装置103は、コネクタ105を介してケーブル104で接続されている。このケーブル104には、光ファイバ、並びに各種信号線が収容されている。
 プローブ101は、光ファイバを回転自在に収容する。この光ファイバの先端には、操作制御装置100からプルバック部102を介在して伝送された光(測定光)を、光ファイバの中心軸に対してほぼ直行する方向に送信するとともに、送信した光の外部からの反射光を受信するための光送受信部を有するイメージングコア250が設けられている。
 プルバック部102は、プローブ101に設けられたアダプタを介して、プローブ101内の光ファイバと保持する。そして、プルバック部102に内蔵されたモータを駆動させることでプローブ101内の光ファイバを回転させることで、その先端に設けられたイメージングコアを回転させることが可能になっている。また、プルバック部102は、内蔵の直線駆動部に設けられたモータを駆動して、プローブ101内の光ファイバを所定速度で引っ張る(プルバック部と呼ばれる所以である)処理も行う。
 操作制御装置103は、画像診断装置100の動作を統括制御する機能を有する。操作制御装置103は、例えば、ユーザ指示に基づく各種設定値を装置内に入力する機能や、測定により得られたデータを処理し、体腔内の断層画像として表示する機能を備える。
 操作制御装置103には、本体制御部111、プリンタ/DVDレコーダ111-1、操作パネル112及びLCDモニタ113、等が設けられている。本体制御部111は、光断層画像を生成する。光断層画像は、測定により得られた反射光と光源からの光を分離することで得られた参照光とを干渉させることで干渉光データを生成するとともに、当該干渉光データに基づいて生成されたラインデータを処理することにより生成される。
 プリンタ/DVDレコーダ111-1は、本体制御部111における処理結果を印刷したり、データとして記憶したりする。操作パネル112は、ユーザが各種設定値及び指示の入力を行なうユーザインターフェースである。LCDモニタ113は、表示装置として機能し、例えば、本体制御部111において生成された断層画像を表示する。114は、ポインティングデバイス(座標入力装置)としてのマウスである。
 次に、画像診断装置100の機能構成について図2を用いて説明する。なお、上述したように、画像診断装置には、光干渉断層画像診断装置(OCT)及び波長掃引利用の光干渉断層画像診断装置(SS-OCT)が含まれるが、以下では、主として波長掃引利用の光干渉断層画像診断装置(SS-OCT)について説明する。
 図中、201は画像診断装置の全体の制御を司る信号処理部であり、マイクロプロセッサをはじめ、いくつかの回路で構成される。210はハードディスクに代表される不揮発性の記憶装置であり、信号処理部201が実行する各種プログラムやデータファイルを格納している。202は信号処理部201内に設けられたメモリ(RAM)である。203は波長掃引光源であり、時間軸に沿って、予め設定された範囲内で変化する波長の光を繰り返し発生する光源である。
 波長掃引光源203から出力された光は、第1のシングルモードファイバ271の一端に入射され、先端側に向けて伝送される。第1のシングルモードファイバ271は、途中の光ファイバカップラ272において第4のシングルモードファイバ275と光学的に結合されている。
 第1のシングルモードファイバ271における光ファイバカップラ272より先端側に発した光は、コネクタ105を介して、第2のシングルモードファイバ273に導かれる。この第2のシングルモードファイバ273の他端はプルバック部102内の光ロータリージョイント230に接続されている。
 一方、プローブ101はプルバック部102と接続するためのアダプタ101aを有する。そして、このアダプタ101aによりプローブ101をプルバック部102に接続することで、プローブ101が安定してプルバック部102に保持される。さらに、プローブ101内に回転自在に収容された第3のシングルモードファイバ274の端部が、光ロータリージョイト230に接続される。この結果、第2シングルモードファイバ273と第3シングルモードファイバ274が光学的に結合される。第3のシングルモードファイバ274の他方端(プローブ101の先頭部分側)には、光を回転軸に対してほぼ直行する方向に出射するレンズを搭載したイメージングコア250が設けられている。
 上記の結果、波長掃引光源203が発した光は、第1シングルモードファイバ271、第2シングルモードファイバ273、第3のシングルモードファイバ274を介して、第3のシングルモードファイバ274の端部に設けられたイメージングコア250に導かれる。イメージコア250は、この光を、ファイバの軸に直行する方向に出射するとともに、その反射光を受信し、その受信した反射光が今度は逆に導かれ、操作制御装置103に返される。
 一方、光ファイバカップラ272に結合された第4のシングルモードファイバ275の反対の端部には、参照光の光路長を微調整する光路長調整機構220が設けられている。この光路長可変機構220は、プローブ101を交換した場合など、個々のプローブ101の長さのばらつきを吸収できるよう、その長さのばらつきに相当する光路長を変化させる光路長変更手段として機能する。そのため、第4のシングルモードファイバ275に端部に位置するコリメートレンズ225が、その光軸方向である矢印226で示すように移動自在な1軸ステージ224上に設けられている。
 具体的には、1軸ステージ224はプローブ101を交換した場合に、プローブ101の光路長のばらつきを吸収できるだけの光路長の可変範囲を有する光路長変更手段として機能する。さらに、1軸ステージ224はオフセットを調整する調整手段としての機能も備えている。例えば、プローブ部101の先端が生体組織の表面に密着していない場合でも、1軸ステージにより光路長を微小変化させることにより、生体組織の表面位置からの反射光と干渉させる状態に設定することが可能である。
 1軸ステージ224で光路長が微調整され、グレーティング221、レンズ222を介してミラー223にて反射された光は再び第4のシングルモードファイバ275に導かれ、光ファイバカップラ272にて、第1のシングルモードファイバ271側から得られた光と混合されて、干渉光としてフォトダイオード204にて受光される。
 このようにしてフォトダイオード204にて受光された干渉光は光電変換され、アンプ205により増幅された後、復調器206に入力される。この復調器206では干渉した光の信号部分のみを抽出する復調処理を行い、その出力は干渉光信号としてA/D変換器207に入力される。
 A/D変換器207では、干渉光信号を例えば90MHzで2048ポイント分サンプリングして、1ラインのデジタルデータ(干渉光データ)を生成する。なお、サンプリング周波数を90MHzとしたのは、波長掃引の繰り返し周波数を40kHzにした場合に、波長掃引の周期(25μsec)の90%程度を2048点のデジタルデータとして抽出することを前提としたものであり、特にこれに限定されるものではない。
 A/D変換器207にて生成されたライン単位の干渉光データは、信号処理部201に入力され、一旦、メモリ202に格納される。そして、信号処理部201では干渉光データをFFT(高速フーリエ変換)により周波数分解して深さ方向のデータ(ラインデータ)を生成し、これを座標変換することにより、血管内の各位置での光断面画像を構築し、所定のフレームレートでLCDモニタ113に出力する。
 信号処理部201は、更に光路長調整用駆動部209、通信部208と接続されている。信号処理部201は光路長調整用駆動部209を介して1軸ステージ224の位置の制御(光路長制御)を行う。
 通信部208は、いくつかの駆動回路を内蔵するとともに、信号処理部201の制御下にてプルバック部102と通信する。具体的には、プルバック部102内の光ロータリージョイントによる第3のシングルモードファイバの回転を行うためのラジアル走査モータへの駆動信号の供給、ラジアルモータの回転位置を検出するためのエンコーダ部242からの信号受信、並びに、第3のシングルモードファイバ274の所定速度で引っ張るための直線駆動部243への駆動信号の供給である。
 なお、信号処理部201における上記処理も、所定のプログラムがコンピュータによって実行されることで実現されるものとする。
 上記構成において、プローブ101を患者の診断対象の血管位置(冠状動脈など)に位置させると、ユーザの操作によるプローブ先端から透明なフラッシュ液(通常は生理食塩水や造影剤)を血管内に放出させる。血液の影響を除外するためである。そして、ユーザがスキャン開始の指示入力を行うと、信号処理部201は、波長掃引光源203を駆動し、ラジアル走査モータ241並びに直線駆動部243を駆動させる(以降、ラジアル走査モータ241と直線駆動部243の駆動による光の照射と受光処理をスキャニングと呼ぶ)。この結果、波長掃引光源203から波長掃引光が、上記のような経路でイメージングコア250に供給される。このとき、プローブ101の先端位置にあるイメージングコア250は回転しながら、回転軸に沿って移動することになるので、イメージングコア250は、回転しながら、なおかつ、血管軸に沿って移動しながら、血管内腔面への光の出射とその反射光の受信を行うことになる。
 ここで、1枚の光断面画像の生成にかかる処理を図3を用いて簡単に説明する。同図はイメージングコア250が位置する血管の血管軸に直交する内腔面301の断面画像の再構成処理を説明するための図である。イメージングコア250の1回転(360度)する間に、複数回の測定光の送信と受信を行う。1回の光の送受信により、その光を照射した方向の1ラインのデータを得ることができる。従って、1回転の間に、例えば512回の光の送受信を行うことで、回転中心302から放射線状に延びる512個の干渉光データを得ることができる。この512個の干渉光データは、高速フーリエ変換され、回転中心から放射線状の径方向のラインデータが生成される。ラインデータは、回転中心位置の近傍では密で、回転中心位置から離れるにつれて互いに疎になっていく。そこで、この各ラインの空いた空間における画素については、周知の補間処理を行なって生成していき、人間が視覚できる血管断面画像を生成することになる。信号処理部201は、このように血管断面画像を再構成する処理を行っていくが、この際、各血管断面画像の番号(スライスNo)、血管断面画像の内腔面積S、内腔面積Sの形状がどれだけ真円に近いかを示す指標値である円形度Cを求めていく。
 円形度Cの算出のアルゴリズムについては特に問わないが、実施形態では一例として内腔面積における長径D1、短径D2の比であるD2/D1を円形度Cとして求めるものとする。D2/D1の最大は1で、D1=D2となるときである。つまり、この場合、円形度Cはその値が1に近いほど真円に近いことを表す指標値と言える。狭窄等の病変部位は、内腔面積Sが小さい、或いは、円形度Cが小さい部位である可能性が非常に高い。以降、スライスNo、内腔面積S、円形度C(長径D1,短径D2を含む)を合わせて断面特徴情報と呼ぶ。信号処理部201は1枚の血管断面画像を再構成するたびに、該当する断面特徴情報を算出し、断面画像と断面特徴情報を互いに関連付けてメモリ202に蓄積していく。
 なお、内腔面積Sは、例えば内腔面よりイメージングコア250の回転中心に向かう内側の総画素数を計数し、その係数結果に予め設定した係数を乗算することで得るものとするが、内腔面積の求め方はこれ以外のアルゴリズムで求めても構わない。また、長径D1は、内腔面上の2点の距離が最大となったときのその2点間の距離とする。そして、短径D2は、長径D1の中央点を通る垂線と、内腔面との交差する2点間の距離とする。また、内腔面として構成される閉曲線の重心を通る最長径と最短径としても構わない。
 さて、スキャン開始から終了までの血管断面画像の作成処理が終わると、信号処理部201は図4に示すごとく、生成された血管断面画像401を血管軸に沿って互いに接続することで、3次元血管画像402を得ることができる。なお、2次元の血管断面画像の中心位置は、イメージングコア250の回転中心位置と一致するが、血管断面の中心位置ではない点に注意されたい。3次元血管画像402における図示の矢印Aに切った断面画像(血管軸に平行な面で切った断面画像)を、以降、縦断面画像と呼び、図3の血管軸に直交する面で切った血管断面画像と区別する。
 なお、ここでは3次元血管画像402を再構成してから縦断面画像を生成するものとしたが、例えば、図3のように2次元の断面画像を構成する際に利用した或るラインデータ(例えば0°)とその真逆(180°)のラインデータで表される一本のデータを得ることを、全ての2次元の断面画像に対して行い、それらを互いに接続することで縦断面画像を構成しても構わない。
 実施形態では、上記のようにして得られた縦断面画像と、各2次元の血管断面画像を再構成する際に算出した断面特徴情報を用いて、狭窄している箇所をユーザ(医師等)に分かりやすく表示するものである。
 図6Aは、モニタ113に表示される、スキャニング処理を終えた際の初期段階のGUI600を示している。図示のごとく、GUI600は符号610、620,630で示される表示領域を含む。表示領域610には縦断面画像(血管軸に沿った面で切った血管断面画像)が表示される。表示領域620には、面積S、円形度Cの2つの指標値から狭窄の度合を表す狭窄指標像が表示される。表示領域630は、表示領域610に表示されたマーカ611で示される線分612における、血管軸に直交する面で切った血管断面画像(図3参照)を表示する。また、表示領域610、表示領域620における長手方向の寸法を容易にするために、それらの間にスケール640を表示した。なお、図示の範囲を示す符号650a乃至650cについては後述する。
 表示領域620に表示する狭窄指標像の生成法を以下に説明する。先に説明したように、信号処理部201は、各血管断面画像を生成する際に、それぞれについて内腔面積S,円形度Cを含む断面特徴情報を算出する。この過程で、信号処理部201は、最大内腔面積Smaxを求める。そして、各断面画像毎に、内腔面積S/Smaxを算出する。すなわち、プルバックスキャンした範囲内の最大内腔面積を1とし、各断面画像の面積を0乃至1の範囲に正規化する。また、信号処理部210は、円形度Cが最小となるスライスNoを求める。
 信号処理部201は、図5に示すように、正規化後の内腔面積S(最大値が1)と、円形度C(同じく最大値が1)の2つの座標軸に対するカラーパレット(図示の場合は4×4個のカラーパレットP00乃至P33)を用意しておく。
 そして、各断面画像の正規化後の内腔面積Sと、円形度Cから1つのパレットを決定し、決定したパレットを用いて、表示領域620における垂直方向の線分の色を決定する。例えば、或る血管断面画像の正規化後の面積Sが0.74、円形度Cが0.52であった場合、それら2つで示される座標からパレットP22を用いるものとして決定し、そのパレットP22の色を持つ垂直線を、表示領域620の該当する位置に描画する。
 上記の処理を行うことで、図6Aの表示領域620に表示すべき狭窄指標像が生成される。なお、決定したパレットで描画する部分は、厳密には「垂直線」ではなく、矩形(長方形)である。すなわち、表示領域620の垂直方向のサイズをH,その水平サイズをW、水平サイズに対応する断面画像の総数がN枚としたとき、決定したパレットで描画する領域は、垂直方向H,水平方向W/Nで規定される矩形領域となる。従って、この矩形領域内を、決定したパレットの色で塗りつぶすことになる。
 ユーザはマウス114を操作して、表示領域610におけるマーカ611の位置を自由に変更できる。マーカ611の位置が変更された場合、信号処理部201は、変更後のマーカ611の位置に基づき、該当する断面画像及びその断面特徴情報を、メモリ202から読み込み、表示領域630を更新する。
 更に、信号処理部201は、円形度Cについて2つの閾値Th1,Th2(ただしTh2<Th1)を用意し、一旦、閾値Th2未満にまで円形度Cが小さくなった点を挟む、閾値Th1以下の区間を病変区間として決定し、その区間をユーザに報知する。図6Aにおける符号650a,650b,650cが病変区間を表している。
 また、実施形態では、図6AのGUIを表示する際の初期段階で表示領域630に表示する断面画像を、検出された複数の病変区間のそれぞれで、血管面積が最小となるフレームを検出し、最も小さい血管径を示す断面画像とした。そして、その最小円形度Cを持つ断面画像における断面特徴情報(正規化前の面積S、円形度C、長径D1、短径D2)を合わせて表示する。また、このとき、円形度Cが最小となる断面画像が何番目のスライスかは分かっているので、信号処理部201は表示領域の該当する位置にマーカ611と、垂直線612を表示する。また、図6Aの初期段階で表示領域630に表示する断面画像を、円形度が最小となる断面画像としても良い。
 以上であるが、次に信号処理部201の処理手順を図7のフローチャートに従って説明する。なお、以下の説明では、プローブ101は既に患者の目標とする血管患部に挿入済みであるものとする。
 まず、ステップS101にて、操作パネル112からスキャン開始の指示があったか否かを判定する。スキャン開始指示があったと判断した場合、ステップS102に進み、プルバックスキャン処理を実行する。このプルバックスキャン処理において、信号処理部201が通信部208を介してプルバック部102にイメージングコア250を予め設定された速度で回転させると共に、イメージングコア250を所定速度で後退させる処理を行わせる。この結果、測定光と参照光とが合波である干渉光データが得られるので、それをメモリ202に蓄積する処理を行う。そしてステップS103にて、イメージングコア250の血管軸に対する移動量が、計画した移動量になったか否かを判定し、否の場合にはプルバックスキャンを継続する。
 次に、イメージングコア250を計画距離だけ移動した場合、処理はステップ104に進み、メモリ202に蓄積された干渉光データに対して、FFT(高速フーリエ変換)を施し、周波数分解して深さ方向のデータ(ラインデータ)を生成し、その結果を用いて血管軸に対して直交する断面画像の再構成処理を行う。そして、ステップS105では、再構成した断面画像に対する断面特徴情報(内腔面積S,及び、長径D1,短径D2,並びに円形度C)を算出し、断面画像及び断面特徴情報を互い関連付けてメモリ202に格納する。そして、ステップS106にて、全ての断面画像の再構成処理を終えたか否かを判定し、否の場合にはステップ104,105の処理を繰り返す。
 全断面画像の再構成処理を終えると、処理はステップ107に進み、各断面画像の画像特徴情報に基づき、各断面画像毎の狭窄指標を示すためのパレットを決定する。このとき、プルバックスキャンした範囲において、先に説明したように、円形度が閾値Th2未満まで小さくなった点を挟む、閾値Th1以下の区間を病変区間として、決定し、各病変区間における最小内腔面積を求める。そして、ステップS108にて、血管軸に平行な面で切った縦断面画像(病変区間を示す矢印も合成する)、各断面画像のパレットで決定された狭窄指標像、並びに、求めた各病変区間における最小内腔面積を比較し、最小面積を示す断層画像を、図6Aに示すようなレイアウトで表示し、且つ、表示した断面画像位置にマーカ611と線分612を移動自在に描画する。
 以上の結果、図6Aに示すように、内腔面積、円形度を加味した、病変部位が血管軸に沿ってどのように存在しているのかが容易に把握可能なGUIを提供することができる。また、特に操作しなくても、円形度に従って病変と予想される区間が表示され、かつ、各区間における最小内腔面積が求まり、さらに、各区間間での最小内腔面積を有する断面像が表示され、その位置における内腔面積、円形度が表示されるので、ステントを留置する際に含めるべき領域がどこにすべきかを容易に判定することも可能となる。また、ステントを留置する際のステントの両端は、健常な血管、すなわち、円形度が真円に近く、面積も大きい部位が望まれる。かかる点、図6Aの表示の結果、内腔面積、円形度が共に高い位置も容易に理解できるし、スケールと照らし合わせることで容易に長さを知ることも可能となる。
 なお、求めた病変区間の外側の一定区間内における円形度が最大となる位置(区間両端の2つ存在することになる)にマーカを表示し、そのマーカがユーザから指定された場合に、該当する断面画像を表示領域630に表示させても良い。通常、ステントを留置する際のステントの両端の位置は、健常な血管位置(円形度が大きい位置)にすることが望まれるためである。
 また、図6Aの場合、内腔面積、円形度の2つの指標値で利用するパレットを1つ決定するものである。換言すれば、1つのパレットが内腔面積S、円形度Cを表すものとなるので、ユーザはその関係を熟知している必要がある。その理解を更に容易にするため、例えば図6Aに代えて図6BのGUIにして良い。図6Bでは、円形度の指標を表示する表示領域622と内腔面積の指標を表示する表示領域623を独立して表示しているので、ユーザにとっては輝度(あるいは濃度)の高低のみで、それらの度合を把握でき、理解が容易になる。
 また、図6A,6Bでは、パレットや濃淡で円形度、内腔面積の大小を示すようにしたが、円形度、内腔面積は共に数値として算出済みであるので、折れ線グラフ等で表現しても構わない。
 また、各病変区間における内腔面積、長径、短径、円形度のそれぞれの最大値、最小値、平均値。区間長を合わせて表示しても良い。
 また、診断対象の血管には分枝があることがある。かかる分枝している箇所では円形度が測定できない場合がある。従って、分枝部分では円形度を算出する対象外としても良い。
 また、上記実施形態では、図6A,6BのGUIを表示するまでに、患者の血管にプローブを挿入してスキャンすることを条件にしたが、スキャンして得られたデータをハードディスク等の記憶媒体に蓄積しておき、時間をおいて、その記憶媒体から読み込んで図6A,6BのGUIを表示するようにしても良い。この場合、その記憶媒体に格納されたデータをメモリ202に読み出した後、図7のS104以降の処理を行うことになる。
 以上、実施形態を説明したが、本実施形態では、波長掃引を利用した光干渉に基づく画像診断装置(SS-OCT)に適用する例を説明した。しかし、超音波を利用する装置(IVUS)であっても、血管断面像、3D血管像を再構成できるので、係る装置に適用しても構わない。また、IVUSとOCTの両方を用いる装置に適用することも可能である。
 上記実施形態からもわかるように、実施形態における特徴部分の一部は、少なくともマイクロプロセッサで構成される信号処理部201によるものである。マイクロプロセッサはプログラムを実行することで、その機能を実現するわけであるから、当然、そのプログラムも本願発明の範疇になる。また、通常、プログラムは、CD-ROMやDVD-ROM等のコンピュータ可読記憶媒体に格納されており、それのコンピュータが有する読み取り装置(CD-ROMドライブ等)にセットし、システムにコピーもしくはインストールすることで実行可能になるわけであるから、係るコンピュータ可読記憶媒体も本願発明の範疇に入ることも明らかである。
 本発明は上記実施の形態に制限されるものではなく、本発明の精神及び範囲から離脱することなく、様々な変更及び変形が可能である。従って、本発明の範囲を公にするために、以下の請求項を添付する。
 本願は、2015年2月25日提出の日本国特許出願特願2015-035598を基礎として優先権を主張するものであり、その記載内容の全てを、ここに援用する。

Claims (12)

  1.  信号を出射及び受信するイメージングコアを回転自在に、且つ、回転軸に沿って移動可能に収容したプローブを用いて、血管内腔の画像を取得するための画像診断装置であって、
     前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、前記回転軸に沿った各位置における、当該回転軸に対して直交する断面画像を生成する第1の画像生成手段と、
     前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、血管軸に沿った断面画像を生成する第2の画像生成手段と、
     前記第1の画像生成手段で生成した各断面画像における内腔面の円形の度合を示す円形度を算出する算出手段と、
     前記第2の画像生成手段で生成した断面画像と、前記算出手段で算出した円形度とを対応付けて表示する表示手段と
     を有することを特徴とする画像診断装置。
  2.  前記算出手段は、前記第1の画像生成手段で生成した各断面画像における内腔面積を更に算出し、
     前記表示手段は、算出した内腔面積の大小を示す像を前記断面画像と並列に表示することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像診断装置。
  3.  前記表示手段は、前記円形度、前記内腔面積の2つの値で利用する色パレットを決定し、当該決定した色パレットで示される像を表示することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の画像診断装置。
  4.  前記第1の画像生成手段で生成された断面画像中の、前記円形度が最小となる断面画像を特定する特定手段を更に有し、
     前記表示手段は、前記第2の画像生成手段で生成した断面画像上の、前記特定手段が特定した断面画像に対応する位置に予め設定されたマークを表示し、且つ、前記円形度が最小となる断面画像を表示することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の画像診断装置。
  5.  前記算出手段で算出した円形度と、第1閾値、第2閾値(ただし、第1閾値<第2閾値)と比較し、第1閾値未満の円形度を有する断面画像を挟み、前記第2閾値以下となる両端で挟まれる区間を病変区間として検出する病変区間検出手段を更に有し、
     前記表示手段は、前記病変区間を示す像を表示することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の画像診断装置。
  6.  前記病変区間検出手段により検出された、単一、または複数の病変区間における、区間内の最小内腔面積を示す断面画像を特定する区間内特定手段と、
     前記特定手段を用いて求めた各病変区間における最小内腔面積をお互いに比較し、内腔面積が最小となる断面画像を特定する区間間特定手段とを更に有し、
     前記表示手段は、前記第2の画像生成手段で生成した断面画像上の、前記区間間特定手段が特定した断面画像に対応する位置に予め設定されたマークを表示し、且つ、前記円形度が最小となる断面画像を表示することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の画像診断装置。
  7.  前記病変区間に含まれる断面画像における内腔面積、円形度それぞれの最大値、最小値、平均値を算出する手段を更に有し、
     前記表示手段は、各病変区間ごとの内腔面積、円形度の最大値、最小値、平均値、区間長を表示することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の画像診断装置。
  8.  前記病変区間検出手段により検出された病変区間の外側の一定区間内における円形度が、最も真円に近くなる断層画像を特定する区間外特定手段をさらに有し、前記表示手段は、前記区間外特定手段で特定した断面画像に対応する位置にあらかじめ設定されたマークを表示し、該当する断面画像の内腔面積、円形度、それぞれの最大値、最小値、平均値を表示することを特徴とする請求項5乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の画像診断装置。
  9.  前記表示手段は、前記第2の画像生成手段で生成した断面画像、及び、前記算出手段で算出した円形度を示す像と並列に、寸法を示すスケールを表示することを特徴とする請求項1乃至8のいずれか1項に記載の画像診断装置。
  10.  信号を出射及び受信するイメージングコアを回転自在に、且つ、回転軸に沿って移動可能に収容したプローブを用いて、血管内腔の画像を取得するための画像診断装置の制御方法であって、
     前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、前記回転軸に沿った各位置における、当該回転軸に対して直交する断面画像を生成する第1の画像生成工程と、
     前記イメージングコアを回転し、回転軸方向に移動させることで得たデータに基づき、血管軸に沿った断面画像を生成する第2の画像生成工程と、
     前記第1の画像生成工程で生成した各断面画像における内腔面の円形の度合を示す円形度を算出する算出工程と、
     前記第2の画像生成工程で生成した断面画像と、前記算出工程で算出した円形度とを対応付けて表示する表示工程と
     を有することを特徴とする画像診断装置の制御方法。
  11.  コンピュータに読み込ませ実行させることで、前記コンピュータを、請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の画像診断装置として機能させるためのプログラム。
  12.  請求項11に記載のプログラムを格納したことを特徴とするコンピュータが読み取り可能な記憶媒体。
