Abstract

The mutual coupling system between the slats of the present invention permits the spacing between the slats when there is the need to allow the passage of more air and light in the premises protected by the roller shutter, while maintaining the security of the closure. Moreover, the roller shutter according to the invention reduces burglary and intrusion attempts particularly easy when the traditional roller shutter is half-open.

Description

Mutual coupling system between the slats for the semi-aperture of a roller shutter by means of sliding. The present invention relates to a new sliding mutual coupling system between the slats of a roller shutter, in order to provide a variable aperture between said slats to increase the ventilation or the passage of light and at the same time provide a secure closure.
The state of art consists of numerous patents of roller shutters, in particular:
• patent n. ES 2 335 372 entitled "Disposition de encadenamiento de las lamas de una persiana arrollable " filed on 04/05/2007;
• patent n. DE 33 36 280 entitled "Rolladen " filed Ion 05/10/1983 ;
• patent n. EP 2458 127 entitled "Daylight roller shutter " filed on 29/11/2011;
• patent n. US 6,371,189 entitled "Roller Shutter" filed on 16/04/2002.
Many patents including the above mentioned state of art, the movement of the slats in the opening and closing of the roller shutter is made by means of chain systems or other connecting means more or less complex which require also the replacement of the traditional vertical scroll binary, do not permit the wider opening between the slats for the passage of light and air, do not offer a high level of insulation both thermal and acoustic and finally do not meet the requirements of security against intrusion.
The Italian patent application n. BA2013A00002 entitled " System of differentiated semi aperture...." filed by the same inventor of present international application is a first patent application that seeks to eliminate some of the above mentioned drawbacks of the state of art, but has at the same time, put in evidence other inconveniences and problems that this international application solves.
l The aim of the present application, is that to provide a roller shutter with major security against intrusion and at the same time, using new connecting elements, permit a greater opening between the slats for the flow of light and air if necessary, constructed to function as a sunscreen, as a darkening element and safety closure.
A another aim of the present patent application, is to provide a solar shielding filter system, that filtering the desired amount of ultraviolet rays, permits to maintain in the interior an almost constant temperature with a consequent considerable saving of energy.
Another aim is to reduce the solar radiation, defending the interior environments from excessive heat and glare permitting to use better the daylight.
A further aim is to provide a system for the movements of the slats that both in the opening and closing phase, can be operated manually or by means of an electric motor or remote device by means of the particular connection of the slats whose installation does not require the replacements of traditional scroll binary, permitting a significant saving in installation costs.
The invention will now be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a section view of a slat of the roller shutter according to the invention;
Figure 2 positioning of the two systems of spacer bushing to allow the free scroll of the slats and the oval flanges positioned in the guide rails of the vertical lateral binary;
Figure 3 section view of a series of slats and their subsequent coupling system;
Figure 4 placement of the slats in two vertical planes superimposed by means of horizontal displacement of the oval flanges so that they cannot mutually contrast in the vertical scroll binary;
Figure 5 connection of the harmonic spring to the winding roller so as to prevent the opening from Figure 6 positioning of the shock noise absorber;
Figure 7 side view of a slat of the roller shutter equipped with a metal reinforcement;
Figure 8 side view of a slat of the roller shutter provided with a bullet proof plate. The parts that form the shutter according to the invention, differ also from the state of art in the system of interconnection of the slats and other particulars, that permit the movements of said shutter to function at the same time as a darkening element, permit thermal and acoustic insulation as well as security against burglary and intrusion.
The roller shutter system according to the invention is characterized in that the slats 1, which can slide within a pair of U-shaped scroll binaries, preferably made of extruded durninium or other materials of major resistance against burglary, present a particular conformation technique that permit in the closing phase of the roller shutter, the coupling of the slats 1 by means of a jut 3 and the longitudinal cavity 2 present on the entire length of the roller shutter (fig.6).
The slats are also characterized by the presence of two fins 5 to allow the insertion in said slats, of a metal reinforcement bar 15 to permit in particular, for roller shutter of greater length, a major resistance in the case of attempts of burglary and to reduce the flexion of said slats, and of two threaded inlets 4 at the extremities of each slat 1, respectively, near the jut 3 and the longitudinal cavity 2 preventing the overlap (fig.7).
As illustrated in figure 2 at each end of the slats interposed to the threaded inlet 4, there are two systems of spacer bushing 8a and 8b of different height H sufficient to permit the attachment of the oval flanges 6 to the slat lby means of screws 9.
The coupling between each pair of slats, a upper slat la and a lower slat lb, is obtained by means of a system of oval flanges 6 fastened to each other by the screws 9. The oval flanges 6 are provided with a small central bar 7 having the function of reinforcement and at the same time limit the movements in the longitudinal direction of said oval flanges.
The different heights of the spacer bushing, respectively of major height the spacer bushing 8a and lower height the spacer bushing 8b, determines that in the lifting of the slats 1, the longitudinal misalignment of the oval flanges 6 with a given deviation of space between them. The spacer bushing in sequence number of two, respectively two of greater height 8a and two of lower height 8b, are positioned at the end of the slats, thereby allowing that the oval flanges 6 being positioned longitudinally on different levels, do not go, in the closure phase, that is in the juxtaposition phase of the slats, in contrast between them, as illustrated in figure 4.
During assembly the roller shutter is connected to the winding roller 12 by means of the harmonic spring 11.
As shown in figure 5, when the roller 12 is in the total closed position it permits the harmonic spring 11 to exercise on the last slat in the higher position, a pressure such as to force said slat to remain in a perfectly vertical position by pushing the slat towards the outer wall of the scroll binary; accordingly the attempt to raise the roller shutter is prevented by the presence of the flap 14 of the locking device 13 which is in contrast with the upper edge 3a of the jut 3 as illustrated in figure 5.
When the roller 12 rotates to bring up the roller shutter, the harmonic spring 11 rotates the edge 3a of the jut 3 of the slat outside the area 14 below the blocking device 13, allowing the lifting of the rolling shutter and therefore the roller permits the winding of the rolling shutter upwards.
The winding system object of the present invention is provided with gaskets 10 that are interposed between the jut 3 and the cavity 2 of the two overlapping slats. Since the roller shutters, as already mentioned are preferably made of extruded aluminium a shock absorber in plastic or other similar material, to prevent excessive noise of said shutter during the closing and opening movements as illustrated in fig. 6.
The system of the present invention, in a further embodiment, is provided with the longitudinal insertion in the slat 1 of a metal bar 16 of reinforcement. This bar permits a safer rolling shutter against burglary and intrusion and also a bullet proof rolling shutter.
The system of the present invention is also applicable to shutters of large areas such as shops, garage etc. as to provide a rolling shutter with all the characteristics of safety and energy saving as mentioned.
