- the present invention relates generally to wash basins, to facilitate the process of washing hands especially among children and people with disabilities.
- the wash basin automatically adjusts its height according to height of a user.
- the main purpose of creation of a wa s h basin is for washing hands, especially before and after meals, for the Malay community.
- the wash basin will usually be found in every home, restaurant, food courts / shop and everywhere for the washing process.
- the existing wash basins in the market are fixed on a wall, so high, and their height cannot be adjusted according to the height of consumers.
- the existing wash basins are not user friendly, especially for children and users with disabilities.
- it usually requires help of mother or father or guardian to lift or support the child for the process of washing hands.
- the a i m of th e present invention is to design a was h bas i n for use by public, taking into account height of a user, especially children and person with disabilities (OKU). Further, the aim of the present invention is to facilitate the process of washing hands for children and also the disabled (wheel chair user).
- the proposed wash basi n i ntercha ngeably referred to as l-SINK (INTELLIGENT SINK) or si nk or bas i n herei nafter, features a user-friendly concept, because users do not need to press any switch by hand to adjust the height of the basin to an appropriate level (it is sensor operated). The sink will automatically adjust its height according to the height of the user.
- l-SINK INTELLIGENT SINK
- the proposed basin is designed to replace existing basins in the market, where the height cannot be adjusted according to the height of users.
- the existing sink are built and designed in accordance with a standard height position where the sink is located whether in bathroom, kitchen or lounge.
- the height of the sink in the bathroom is usually between 29 - 36 inches in height, while the height of the wash basin in the room is between 29 - 33 inches in height and the height of the sink in the kitchen area is between 29 - 39 inches high, or depending on the height requested.
- the building codes may also not show certain minimum height for the installation of sinks.
- the invention features a product for washing hand.
- the product comprises a mechanical part for a first section, and an electronic part for a second section.
- This product consists of a mechanical structure to cover the body sinks on the first part.
- the second part of this product is electronic, it consists of electronic devices, sensors and on the like to make the product l-SINK function in a fully automated manner.
- l-SINK is provided with a hand washing system using latest technology with the use of sensors.
- the process of washing hands becomes much easier, especially for consumers such as children and the disabled.
- the next features of l-SINK are its full automation system and that it is easy to use and secure (userfriendly).
- l-SINK is user friendly, especially for children because they can continue to use the wash basin, without the help of their parents or guardian for washing their hands.
- l-SINK also features a user friendly concept, because users do not need to press any switch by hand to adjust the height of the basin to an appropriate level (it is sensor operated). The users can also continue to wash their hands without turning on the water tap. This is because l-SINK also focuses on the use of automated technology in applications, using automatic water faucet.
- the sink will automatically adjust the height according to the height of user.
- FIG. 1 is a real front view of a sink to a preferred form of the present invention
- FIG. 2 is a real isometric view of the sink shown in FIG. 1
- FIG. 3 is a partial side view drawing of the sink according to present invention
- FIG.4 is a partial isometric view drawing of the sink according to the present invention.
- Fig.5 is a perspective view of the sink used by users such as kids and adults to wash or clean up their hands in accordance with the invention.
- FIG. 1 A preferred embodiment of l-SINK (10), according to the present invention, is illustrated in FIG. 1.
- l-SINK (10) is designed to facilitate the process of washing hands especially for children and disabled people and that makes l-SINK (10) easy to use and user friendly.
- the overall layout of l-SINK (10) is designed specifically for children, normal person and the disabled consumer, and the aim is for it to be used by the public.
- l-SINK (10) includes a photo sensor (12) and a lamp light (14) attached to the mirror frame (16) at one end thereof.
- Photo sensor (12) can rotate freely to adjust with the height of users.
- mirror frames (16) contained in the l-SINK (10) are used to hold the mirror (18).
- Mirror frame (16) is rectangular in shape and integrally formed with mirror (18), and although it could be made in a variety of shapes.
- l-SINK (10) can have a combination of body casing (20).
- Body casing (20) is rectangular shape and integrally formed to hold the l-SINK (10) structure.
- the main function of the body casing (20) is to cover the entire frame of l-SINK (10) and produce a good finish and quality product.
- automatic water faucet (30) is mounted on the base of the sink (54). Between the sink (54) and the structure frame (50), that have a parallel wall which is accommodated as a sliding panel, such as those illustrated at (32a) and (32b). Therefore, the sliding panel (32a), (32b) protects the l-SINK (10) system and prevent the inside frame from being visible.
- FIG. 3 is partial side view of the l-SINK (10). It shows the dimensions such as maximum height of t h e frame sink (40), maximum width of t h e frame sink (44) and the size dimension of height of mirror (42).
- FIG. 4 is a further illustration of l-SINK (10) based on structure frame (50).
- the mechanical sliding mechanism (52) is attached on the structure frame (50) and the sink (54) to control movement of the sink to enable it to go up and down. Position of the sink on appropriate high level is controlled by the mechanical switch / sensor (56).
- An IR sensor (58) acts as a secondary switch to switch ON the electronic system for l-SINK (10).
- Base plate (62) is attached on l-SINK (10), although it could be made visible or not. Base plate (62) is not a necessary item, but it may be added depending on the customer's need.
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view of l-SINK (10) used by users such as kids and adults to wash or clean up their hands in accordance with the invention.
- An alternate embodiment of l-SINK (10), is illustrated generally in FIGS. 1-5.
- the present invention provides l-SINK (10) that functions as a device to facilitate the process of washing hands.
- l-SINK (10) is especially designed for use by the public, taking into account the height of a user, and further is useful for children and person with disabilities (OKU).
