Definitions
- the present invention relates to the protection against electromagnetic interference more particularly in the vicinity of a coaxial connector of an electronic card.
- An electronic card generally comprises a printed circuit board delimited by two main faces and four sides. On at least one of the main faces extend conductive tracks to which are connected electronic components having contacts generally brazed on ends of the conductive tracks.
- the electronic card comprises a coaxial connector connected to at least one of the electronic components of the card via the conductive tracks.
- a connector comprises a base fixed on the electronic board and provided with a connecting portion at one end of a coaxial cable, and a pin having a free end portion which projects from the base to the end. opposite of the connecting portion and which is brazed on a conductive track.
- the shield housing has a lower edge having lugs received in corresponding openings in the printed circuit board. This method of attachment is not practical especially for implementation by means of a robot, and causes an alteration of the performance of the shield due to the multiplication of openings.
- the arms of each of the two pairs of arms are parallel to the pin and delimit between them a groove in which is engaged one side of the printed circuit board.
- the need for mounting and positioning clearance requires leaving gaps between the base and the printed circuit board in the vicinity of the free end portion of the pin. This space generates a passage for electromagnetic radiation prohibiting effective shielding against electromagnetic disturbances.
- An object of the invention is to provide a means for overcoming at least part of these disadvantages.
- a coaxial connector for an electronic card having at least one main face and a side substantially perpendicular to the main face.
- the connector comprises a base affixed to a front panel of an electromagnetic shield case and a pin passing through a first opening of the front panel such that the pin has a free end portion which protrudes into the case flush with a plane of a second opening defined by a lower edge of a belt of the housing.
- the housing is arranged so that the lower edge of the belt can bear against the main face of the electronic card while the front panel bears against the side of the electronic card.
- the housing further comprises two internal flanges extending along the front panel on either side of the free end portion of the pin to bear against said main face of the electronic card.
- the connector is integrated in the shielding case which includes internal edges that can be closer to the pin to oppose leakage of electromagnetic radiation between the front panel and the electronic card in the vicinity of the free end portion of the pin.
- FIG. 1 is a partial schematic view, from above, of an electronic card according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a connector according to a first embodiment of the invention, the view revealing more particularly the top of the connector;
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view of this connector, the view revealing more particularly the underside of the connector;
- FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view of this connector
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing the connector separated from the electronic card
- FIG. 6 is a partial view of the map according to the invention in section along the line VI-VI of Figure 1;
- FIG. 7 is a schematic perspective view of a connector according to a second embodiment of the invention, the view revealing more particularly the underside of the connector;
- the electronic card of the invention comprises a printed circuit board generally designated 1 delimited by two main faces 1.1, 1.2 and four sides of which only one, referenced 1.3, is visible in the figures.
- the main faces 1.1, 1.2, here the main face 1.1 extend conductive tracks 2 to which are connected electronic components 3 having contacts generally brazed on ends of the electrically conductive tracks 2.
- the electronic card is here manufactured using so-called SMD or "surface mounted components”.
- the electronic card comprises a connector generally designated 10.
- the connector 10 is a coaxial connector such as those for the transmission of television signals.
- the connector 10 comprises, in a manner known per se, a base 11 provided with a connection portion 12 at one end of a coaxial cable, not shown, and a pin having a free end portion 14 which protrudes of the base 11 opposite the connecting portion 12.
- the base 11 is attached to a front panel 15 of an electromagnetic shielding housing, generally designated 16, so that the pin passes through a first opening 17 of the front panel 15 having its free end portion 14 protrusion in the housing 16.
- the base 11 comprises two flanges 18 in the form of an arc, namely a lower flange and an upper flange coaxial with the pin 14, which are engaged in the first opening 17 of the front panel 15 and which are crimped on the front panel 15.
- the free end portion 14 has a lower generatrix flush with a plane of a second opening 20 delimited by a lower edge 21 of a belt 22 of the housing 16.
- the belt 22 and the front panel 15 extend here in a rectangular outline.
- the housing 16 is provided with a third opening 23 formed in an upper part of the housing 16 opposite the second opening 20 and is provided with a cover 24 for removably closing the third opening 23.
- the upper part of the casing 16 and has a periphery provided with elastic tabs 25 some of which are engaged in recesses 26, here holes, formed in the upper part of the belt 22 of the casing 16.
- the housing 16 is arranged so that the lower edge 21 of the belt 22 can bear against the main face 1.1 of the printed circuit board 1 of the electronic board while the front panel 15 bears against the side 1.3 of the printed circuit board.
- the 1.3 side has a recess 1.4 receiving the front panel 15.
- the lower edge 21 of the belt 22 is provided, opposite the front panel 15, at least one support flange 31 (here two) to bear on the main face 1.1 of the electronic card.
- the housing 16 comprises two internal flanges 27 extending along the front panel 15 on either side of the free end portion 14 of the pin to bear against said main face 1.1 of the printed circuit board. the electronic card.
- the internal flanges 27 have a lower surface in the plane defined by the lower edge 21 of the belt 22 to lie flat on the main face 1.1 of the printed circuit board 1 of the electronic card.
- the inner flanges 27 are attached to the front panel 15.
- the inner flanges 27 belong to a plate 28 applied to the front panel surface Projecting from which extends the free end portion 14 of the spindle.
- the plate 28 is provided with a groove 19 in an arc of a circle receiving the lower flange 18 of the base 11 so that the crimping of the flange 18 inferior ensures the attachment of both the base 11 and the plate 28 to front panel 15.
- the inner flanges 27 belong to the front panel 15.
- the front panel 15 comprises a folded portion 29 on the front panel 15 away from the front panel.
- base 11 and the inner flanges 27 belong to this portion 29 folded.
- the inner flanges 27 project from two side walls 30 which belong to the belt 22 and which extend on either side of the front panel 15 .
- the connector is preferably mounted by means of a robot on the printed circuit board 1 kept horizontal.
- the housing 16 is not covered with the cover 24. This facilitates an optical positioning of the connector by a vision of the free end portion of the pin through the third opening 23.
- the connector 10 here has a center of gravity extending above the housing 16 (the housing 16 has a mass greater than a ground of the base 11, in particular thanks to the support flange 31), the connector remains in place on the printed circuit board 1 before the soldering operation without it being necessary to maintain it there.
- the brazing operation is carried out by passing through an oven to melt a solder paste previously disposed on the printed circuit board.
- the free end portion 14 of the pin must be brazed to a corresponding pad of the printed circuit board (the electrically conductive pad extending over the main face of the printed circuit board adjacent to the 1.3 side) and the casing 16 must be brazed the full length of the printed circuit board.
- the belt 22 (exceptions made notches runway tracks) and internal flanges 27. It is possible to conduct an optical verification of the quality of brazing, in particular through the third opening 23. After this verification, the cover 24 is placed on the housing 16. The fact of having a separate cover is also advantageous because it limits the maximum weight to transport during assembly of the connector. The removable nature of the cover 24 further facilitates subsequent maintenance operations.
- the lower edge 21 of the belt 22 of the housing 16 has notches 32 for passage of some of the conductive tracks 2.
- the connector may have a different structure from that described.
- the housing 16 may be devoid of removable cover.
- the housing 16 may also be devoid of third opening.
- the upper part of the housing may then comprise a wall connected to the belt by a reduced resistance zone forming a rupture primer (this zone is for example formed of a series of dotted cuts allowing tearing of said wall).
- the base 11 may be fixed to the front panel by any means and in particular by welding.
