Abstract
La présente invention concerne une construction et un procédé diférents pour une sonde à magnétostriction destinée à être utilisée en tant que dispositif de surveillance de réservoir. La détermination de hauteur, soit d'eau soit de carburant, est référencée à l'intention d'un ensemble capteur à ultrasons situé à l'intérieur de l'arbre au pied de la sonde. Avec cette approche inverse, une mesure de hauteur tire avantage de la stabilité géothermique relative de réservoirs de stockage souterrains, ou de la stabilité à la température offerte par la masse thermique du carburant, pour faciliter une précision accrue de détermination de niveau de réservoir. À ce nouvel emplacement, le circuit de détection obtient l'avantage supplémentaire d'être isolé de l'effet de colonnes montantes magnétiques, de grandes excursions de température et autre phénomène indésirable qui affectent souvent des mesures d'une sonde à magnétostriction qui sont référencées à l'intention de la cartouche. Cette sonde peut être adaptée pour toute application nécessitant une connaissance précise de la mesure de hauteur ou de distance par rapport au pied de la sonde sans utiliser d'aimant de référence.
