Abstract

The device, an outer demountable luggage box for sport-type passenger automobiles having rear-engine and mid-engine layouts, does not have any similar patented or published solutions/analogues. A box, used as an additional place for storing luggage, solves the problem of increasing the convenience of using automobiles having the specified layout. The box does not reduce such automobile qualities as aerodynamics and controllability. Substantial features of the box include: the location thereof directly behind the automobile cabin, above the engine compartment; the form of panels of the box, which face the automobile body, being individualized and being identical to or closely mimicking, with small gaps, and corresponding to the profile of outer panels of the automobile body, resulting in the box closely abutting the automobile body or having small gaps between same and the automobile body.

Description

DESCRIPTION OF A USEFUL MODEL

REMOVABLE EXTERNAL BAGGAGE BOXING FOR CARS OF THE SPORTS TYPE OF THE REAR AND MEDIUM MOTION

The utility model relates to additional equipment of cars, namely, to removable boxes (devices of the closed type) for luggage, externally mounted on cars.

From the existing level of technology, removable external luggage boxes are known for installation mainly on the roofs of cars. An example of such a box, patented in Russia, is described in ed. St. USSR N 1493510, class B60R 9/04. Another example of such a box is described by the patent of Canada and Europe Xs CA2552320 (A1), cl. B60R 9/055. Such luggage boxes, as a rule, are unified for their use on different cars, regardless of their make and model.

But such boxes are very poorly suited for installation on rear-engined and mid-engined sports cars, adversely affect

aerodynamics of such cars, their controllability and aesthetics of appearance, therefore they are practically not used for such cars. At the same time, for cars of this type, the problem of having additional space for luggage is relevant, since there is very little such space in the car itself.

the use of rear- and mid-engined layouts in passenger-car sports are their shape, dimensions and the principle of location on the vehicle.

As a result of patent searches, searches in print and online publications and various references devoted to descriptions of domestic and foreign patents (including: RosPatent, United States Patent and Trademark! Office, European Patent Office and Canadian Intellectual Property Office), similar solutions - no analogues of the presented utility model were found.

The problem to which the claimed technical solution is directed is to increase the usability of sports cars of the rear- and mid-engine layout.

This task is achieved due to the presented device, which is a convenient, easy to install, not reducing the qualities of the car (such as aerodynamics and handling), a special outdoor luggage box for passenger cars of sports type rear- and mid-engine layout, the essential features of which are:

- its location directly behind (behind) the car cabin, above the engine compartment;

- the shape of the box panels facing the car body is individual and repeats the profile (or close, with small gaps, corresponds to the profile) of the external panels (body) of the car for a snug fit (or with some clearance or a channel to ensure engine ventilation) to the car body .

The technical result provided by the given set of features of the device is to increase the usability of sports cars of the rear- and mid-engine layout by additional space for luggage on such cars, without impairing their qualities. In the accompanying illustrations, Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 shows a schematic

image of the shape and design of the luggage box, its location on the car.

Luggage boxing is performed on the basis of a suitcase. The design of the box consists of two body parts: the bottom of the box (1), made in a form that repeats the shape of the outer panels of the car and the top of the box, movable relative to the bottom, - a hinged or removable cover (2), a system of snap-locks for fixing the cover when the box is closed (3), the hinges of the lid (4), the fastening system of the box (5) to the car body (6).

The design of the box body and the latch-lock system for fixing the lid is not significant and may be similar to the design of the existing external luggage boxes given above, however, the shape of the utility model is different and of fundamental importance.

Boxing provides for the individual design of its shape for each individual model of sports car of the rear- and mid-engine layout, or for a group of such cars having the same or similar shape of the outer panels of the luggage box installation site.

The luggage box mounting system on the car must be compact, ensuring its close contact with the car body, but it is not significant and can be of different designs (for example, connectors such as latches, or screw connectors, or vacuum suction cups, etc.).

The materials of the luggage box depend on the characteristics of the car for which the box is designed, other factors and are not significant. The luggage box can be made by stamping or casting its parts from materials:

metal sheet, carbon fiber (carbon fiber), fiberglass, as well as other

polymeric and natural materials, including materials used for the manufacture of existing removable luggage boxes, externally mounted on cars.

An example of the luggage box described above was published by me on 05.01.2014 on the Internet, on the website GrabCAD.com as part of my design project for the design of a mid-engined sports car: www, grabcad.com/librarv/ 500g-eeva-1 /. My patent RU 144087 Ш for the described luggage box was published on 08/10/2014 in Bulletin No. 22.

The presented luggage box can be applied:

- for already issued sports cars, rear- and

mid-engine layout;

- in the design and manufacture of new sports cars of the rear- and mid-engine layout, as a component or additional

(optional) parts of the configuration of these models.

The luggage box described above is used when it is necessary to carry luggage (for example, for long-distance travel) by manually installing it on a car and fixing it using a fastening system.
