- biopsy and resection material can be obtained via cytoscopy.
- the sample may be obtained via fine needle aspiration.
- bladder urothelial cells may be obtained from a urine sample supplied by a subject.
- An "atypical" cytological assessment of cell morphology indicates that cells in the sample have lost their normal appearance but have not reached the level of abnormality of malignant cells.
