Abstract

An insulator (10) is placed between an axial end face of a stator core and a stator coil wound around a plurality of teeth of the stator core. The stator teeth extend in radial direction of the stator core. The insulator (10) includes a plurality of tooth cover portions (12), and an outer rib portion (16). These tooth cover portions (12) are postioned on the stator teeth and extend in the radial direction. The outer rib portion (16) connects outer ends of the plurality of tooth cover portions (12) to each other. This outer rib portion (16) includes at least two positioning portions (20) to position the insulator (10). The positioning portions (20) are placed on an outer peripheral side of the outer rib portion (16) in radial direction. The positioning portions (20) are placed at regular intervals in circumferential direction of the outer rib portion (16).
