Description

Mounting mechanism of a cutting-loading machine for thin coal seams
The present invention relates to a mounting mechanism of a cutting-loading machine for thin coal seams, used in particular in underground cutting of coal of low thickness.
The Polish invention application PL392762A (P.392762), discloses, for example, a cutting-loading machine for thin coal seams having two cutting drums mounted on drive shafts of fixed position, between which there are loader shoes loading the mining output through through windows onto a face conveyor. The machine does not have its own drive and is transported along the route of the face conveyor by means of a continuous drive chain mounted in attachments of the face conveyor. In order for the machine to remain stable while moving along the route of the conveyor, it has two skid shoes from the wall side and two shoes from the goaf side as well as guide brackets mounted to the body, by means of which said machine is linked with the drive chain.
The so constructed machine is suitable for working in thin coal seams whose thickness is approximately 1 metre, relatively regularly distributed, as it is impossible to adjust the position of the cutting drums in a vertical plane by changing the position of the drive shafts. It is only possible to slightly adjust the range of cutting height by using sidewall slide shoes guide structures which enable the stepwise mechanical increase in the height thereof, which is disclosed in the Polish application PL403750A ( P.403750 ).
In the mining practice referring to cutting thin coal seams it is necessary to adjust the cutting height in a wider range by selecting a diameter of cutting drums, which allows to win coal in the lower ranges of seams of medium thickness by means of said machine. The aim of the present invention is to construct a mounting mechanism of a cutting-loading machine in thin coal seams which will allow to use cutting drums whose diameters are within the range of medium thickness seams without mounting cutting drums on swivel arms.
The essence of the present invention consists in that both the skid shoes from the wall side and the skid shoes from the goaf side of the cutting-loading machine have separably mounted distance inserts with an appropriately adjusted elevation in relation to the lowest position of the axis of the drive shafts of the cutting drums and the housing of guide brackets are the same height as said elevation.
It is most preferable that each skid shoe from the wall side have two distance inserts, wherein one of said inserts, having mounting holes for screws, is an element connecting the arm thereof with the body of the cutting-loading machine and the other insert is an element connecting the arm thereof with the skid shoe foot run along the face conveyor and by means screws going through the holes of said insert with the body of the cutting-loading machine.
In a preferable embodiment each skid shoe from the goaf side is connected with the body of the cutting-loading machine by means of a distance insert having appropriate mounting holes with an adjusted elevation in relation to the lowest position.
In a preferred embodiment each guide bracket of the cutting- loading machine has a body height of which is adjusted to the elevation, and is releasable mounted from the bottom side with a bolt to the drive chain clamp, and from the top it is supported and coupled by means of a positive locking device and by means of a bolt going through a hole in the arm connected with the body of the cutting-loading machine. It is preferable that the mounting mechanism be constructed in such a manner that for each position of the drive shaft of the cutting drums two skid shoes from the wall side, two skid shoes from the goaf side and two guide brackets have the same adjusted elevation in relation to the lowest position, which allows for placing the body of the cutting-loading machine paralelly in relation to the route of the face conveyor.
The main advantage of the mounting mechanism according to the invention is the possibility to easily and simply adjust one construction of the cutting-loading machine body to cutting drums the diameter of which is appropriately selected for cutting a particular thin coal seams, and partially also medium. Said adjustment is realized by means of releasable mounted distance inserts with elevations which guarantee the stable work of the machine along the route of the face conveyor, wherein cutting drums have specified diameters. Therefore, it is not only possible to adjust cutting drums to the seam for cutting, but also to replace said cutting drums when the seam in question is of variable thickness in order to avoid cutting gangue overlying the coal. In order to adjust the height of the elevation it is also possible to adjust it to varying position of each of the drive shafts over the floor, so that the machine can work with the body thereof tilted along its length, which can be useful in particular mining conditions.
The invention is presented in more detail in an embodiment in the drawing, where fig. 1 shows the cutting-loading machine in view from the wall side, fig. 2 - shows said machine from the goaf side, fig. 3 shows the skid shoe from the wall side in spatial view, fig. 4a - shows the distance insert of the skid shoe from the goaf side in a basic embodiment, and fig. 4b - shows said insert in an elevated embodiment, fig. 5 - shows the guide bracket in spatial view.
A cutting-loading machine 1 (fig. 1) shown without cutting drums, from the wall side is run along the not shown route of a face conveyor by means of two skid shoes 2 from the wall side, and from the goaf side (fig. 2) it is run along the route of the face conveyor by means of two skid shoes 3 from the goaf side 3. The cutting-loading machine 1 is moved along the route of the face conveyor along the cut wall by means of a drive chain 4, wherein said machine is connected with said drive chain 4 by means of two guide brackets 5. In order to mount the cutting drums of a larger diameter which are not shown in the drawing both the skid shoes 2 from the wall side and the skid shoes 3 from the goaf side as well as the guide brackets 5 must be appropriate for the larger diameter of said cutting drums as the drive shafts 6 of said drive shafts are located in the body of the cutting-loading machine 1 at a fixed height. The skid shoe 2 from the wall side (fig.3) consists of a bar 7 having at its one end a distance insert 7' with holes 8 for screws for mounting it to the body of the cutting-loading machine 1, and at the other end it has a distance insert 7" connecting it with the skid shoe foot 9 by means of a bolt 10, and by means of screws going through holes 8' with the body of said cutting-loading machine 1. By changing the height of the distance inserts 7' and 7" a required elevation P appropriate for a specific diameter of said cutting drum is achieved. A guide insert 11 of the skid shoe from the goaf side 3 (fig. 2, fig 4a, fig. 4b) is mounted to the body 1' of the cutting-loading machine 1 by means of mounting screws 12. As is shown in fig. 4a the distance insert 11 in a basic embodiment has holes 13 for mounting screws 12 at a basic height hi, and the elevated distance insert 11 (fig. 4b) has holes 13 for mounting screws 12 located at a height hn which ensures achieving the required elevation P for a specific diameter of said cutting drum after mounting it to the body . Each of the guide brackets 5 (fig 5) has a body 14, connected from the bottom by means of a bolt 15 with a clamp 16 of the drive chain 4, and from the top it is connected by means of an arm 17 with a hole 18 and a bolt not shown in the drawing with the body 1'. The body 14 of the guide bracket 5 supports the body 1' of the cutting-loading machine 1 by means of a positive lock 19, and the height K thereof determines the required elevation P for a specific diameter of the cutting drum. For each new diameter of the cutting drum the height of the elevation P is different, which requires an appropriate change of dimensions of the distance inserts 7', 7", 11 and of the height K of the body 14 of the guide brackets 5.
