Description

減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶
 本発明は、揺れを抑える減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶に関する。
 船舶のような乗り物の揺れを低減する減揺装置が知られている。例えば、特開平7-215280号公報(対応米国特許US5628267(A))に船舶用動揺制振装置及び船舶が開示されている。この舶用動揺制振装置は、コントロール・モーメント・ジャイロ(100)を有する。その動揺制振装置において、ジャイロ(100)のフライホイール(1)のスピン軸(60)は偏平型スピンモータ(5)により駆動されるとともに、スピン軸受(6)を介してジンバル(2)で支持される。ジンバル(2)はジンバル軸(3)とジンバル軸受(7)を介してサポート(8)で支持される。ジンバル軸(3)の動揺はディスクブレーキ(30)により制動される。ディスクブレーキ(30)はジンバル軸連結固定ディスク(9)とサポート連結固定ディスク(10)とからなる。ジンバル軸(3)の動揺はパウダブレーキ(40)又はオイルダンパ(11)により制動される。
 上記の船舶用動揺制振装置は、高速回転するフライホイールをジンバルで支持し、船舶の揺れによりジンバルが揺動し、ジャイロ効果により発生するジャイロトルク(カウンタートルク)を船体へ伝達し、船舶のローリングを減揺させる装置である。この船舶用動揺制振装置では、ジャイロトルクはジンバル軸の動揺をディスクブレーキやパウダブレーキやオイルダンパのような制動装置により制動されている。
 上述のような減揺装置に関して、発明者は以下の事実を見出した。すなわち、上述のような減揺装置にはジンバル軸の動揺を制動する制動装置は設けられているが、非常時に減揺装置を急停止させる機構は装着されていない。言い換えると、減揺装置のジンバルが過大に作動した場合に、その過大なジンバル作動に対する抑制機構は制動装置のみである。そのため、例えば、温度上昇などの原因により制動装置の機能が十分に発揮できず不調になった場合、ジンバルが激しく揺動し、減揺装置の動作不良となる可能性がある。
 また、上述の減揺装置では、制動装置が不調になったとき、減揺装置を急停止するためには、フライホイールのモータの電源スイッチを切り、フライホイールが停止するまで放置する必要がある。しかし、フライホイールが停止するのにかかる時間は長時間である。制動装置の不調時に揺動装置を長時間放置すると、制動装置が不調のままジンバルが長時間作動し続けることとなるため、制動装置の動作不良の原因となる可能性がある。
 また、船舶に設置された減揺装置の効果を海上にて確認するために、減揺装置を一時的に停止する方法も、モータの電源スイッチを切ることしかない。そして、電源スイッチを切った後、減揺装置が停止するまで長時間程度待機する必要がある。しかし、その後に船体が受ける波の状況は変化する可能性があり、同一条件の波を船体への入力とした減揺装置の効果確認が困難である。また時間が経過しての減揺効果の体感も難しい。
 関連する技術として、特開2010-256042号公報(対応米国公開US2011030604(A1))に船舶の減揺装置が開示されている。この船舶の減揺装置は、フライホイールと、ジンバルと、モータと、ジンバル支持部と、第1ダンパと、モータドライバと、安全装置とを具備する。ジンバルは、フライホイールを回転可能に支持する。モータは、フライホイールを駆動する。ジンバル支持部は、ジンバルを揺動可能に支持する。第1ダンパは、ジンバルの揺動を制動する。モータドライバは、モータに駆動電力を供給する。安全装置は、第1ダンパの温度が所定の温度を超えた場合にモータドライバに駆動電力の供給を遮断させる。

 本発明の目的は、短時間で急停止することが可能な減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶を提供することにある。また、本発明の他の目的は、安全性をより高めることが可能な減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶を提供することにある。本発明の更に他の目的は、減揺の効果の確認を容易に行うことが可能な減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶を提供することにある。
 本発明の減揺装置は、フライホイールと、ジンバルと、ジンバル支持部と、ダンパと、ロック機構とを具備している。ジンバルは、フライホイールを回転可能に支持する。ジンバル支持部は、ジンバル軸を介してジンバルを揺動可能に支持する。ダンパは、ジンバルの揺動を制動する。ロック機構は、ジンバルの揺動をロックする。
 上記の減揺装置において、ロック機構は、ジンバル軸の揺動をロックするように設けられていても良い。例えば、上記の減揺装置において、ロック機構は、ジンバル軸の揺動をロックするディスクブレーキを含んでいても良い。
 上記の減揺装置において、ロック機構は、ジンバル本体の揺動をロックするように設けられていても良い。例えば、上記の減揺装置において、ロック機構は、ジンバル本体の揺動をロックするアクチュエータを含んでいても良い。
 本発明の船舶は、船体と、船体に設けられた上記各段落のいずれかに記載の減揺装置とを具備している。
 上記の船舶において、船舶用減揺装置は、ジンバル軸が船体のピッチ軸方向と平行になるように設置されていても良い。

 以下、本発明の実施の形態に係る減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶に関して、添付図面を参照して説明する。
 まず、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶の構成について説明する。
 図1は、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置を用いた船舶の構成を示す外観図である。ここでは、船舶1としてボートを例示している。ただし、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置はボートだけでなく、船舶の種類に合わせたサイズや配置などの変更を行うことで、他の種類の船舶にも適用可能である。船舶1は、船体2と、減揺装置3と、発電機4と、制御装置5とを具備している。
 減揺装置3は、船体2に設けられ、船体2内に固定されている。減揺装置3は、船体2の揺動を抑制するアンチローリングシステムである。その詳細は後述される。発電機4は、船体2に設けられ、減揺装置3へ電力を供給する。制御装置5は、コンピュータに例示される情報処理装置であり、例えば発電機4から電力を供給され、ユーザの操作又はソフトウェアの指令に基づいて減揺装置3の動作を制御する。船舶1は、このような構成を有しているので、後述される減揺装置3の作用・効果を奏することができる。
 図2Aは、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置の構成例を示す模式図である。ここでは、見易さのために発電機4の記載を省略している。減揺装置3は、フライホイール20と、ジンバル11と、ジンバル支持部12と、ダンパ13と、ロック機構14とを具備している。
 フライホイール20はジンバル11内に設けられている。ジンバル11は、フライホイール20が回転軸17まわりに回転可能なように、フライホイール20を支持している。それにより、フライホイール20は、ジンバル11に搭載されたモータ16により駆動され、回転軸17まわりに回転する。制御装置5は、モータ16への発電機4の電力供給を制御することで、フライホイール20の回転を制御する。
 ジンバル支持部12は、ジンバル11がジンバル軸(ジンバルシャフト)15まわりに揺動可能なように、ジンバル軸15を介してジンバル11を支持している。ダンパ13は、ジンバル軸15を介してジンバル11の揺動を制動する。ダンパ13は、作動油の流体抵抗を用いる制動機構やディスクブレーキのような制動機構に例示される。
 ロック機構14は、ジンバル11の揺動(ジンバル作動)をロックする。すなわち、ロック機構14は、ジンバル11の揺動(ジンバル作動)を極めて短時間に停止させ、そしてその停止状態を維持する。ロック機構14は、ディスクブレーキを用いた機構やアクチュエータを用いた機構に例示される。ディスクブレーキを用いた機構は、ジンバル11のジンバル軸15にブレーキディスクを装着し、ブレーキパッドによりブレーキディスクの回転、すなわちジンバル軸15の回転を停止することで、ジンバル11の揺動をロックする。アクチュエータを用いた機構は、油圧・空圧や電動のアクチュエータをジンバル11の本体(フライホイール20を内包する筐体)に直結し、そのジンバル11の本体に荷重を印荷してその揺動を停止することで、ジンバル11の揺動をロックする。これらのロック機構は、ロック動作時にのみ動作し、通常の減揺装置3の機能を妨げないようにする。制御装置5は、ロック機構14への発電機4の電力供給を制御することで、ロック機構14の動作を制御する。
 この図は、ロック機構14としてディスクブレーキによりロックするロック機構の例を模式的に示している。具体的には、ロック機構14として、ジンバル11のジンバル軸15に装着されたブレーキディスク14aと、そのブレーキディスク14aの動作をロックする駆動部14b(パッド、ピストン及びキャリパを含む)とを備えるディスクブレーキを用いている。それにより、ロック機構14は、ジンバル軸15の揺動をロックすることができ、ジンバル11の揺動をロックすることができる。要求されるブレーキの強さに応じて、ブレーキディスク14aの大きさや枚数を増やしても良い。このようなディスクブレーキは、構造が簡便で製造及び取り付けが容易であり好ましい。
 本実施の形態では、制動用のダンパ13の他に、急停止用のロック機構14を別体として減揺装置3に装着している。それにより、フライホイール20を停止するための安全装置機能を多重にすることが可能となる。その結果、仮にダンパ13が不調になったとても、ロック機構14により安全かつ短時間で減揺装置3を停止させることができる。特に、ロック機構14は、停止機能に特化しているので、制動機能を有する必要がなく、その構造を相対的に簡素にすることができる。それにより、装置の小型化も可能である。
 減揺装置3は、船体2の船体中心線上にフライホイール20の回転中心18が重なるように配置される。(ただし、減揺装置3を2個配置する場合には、重なっていなくてもよい。その場合、X軸を中心にY軸方向に等距離の位置に2個配置する。ただし、いずれも船体2の回転軸Yと減揺装置3の回転軸15とは平行とする。)ここで、フライホイール20の回転中心18を原点とし、船首方向をX軸とし、鉛直方向をZ軸とし、X軸及びZ軸と直角な方向をY軸とする。このとき、減揺装置3は、ジンバル軸15がX軸方向に対して直角になるように配置される。言い換えると、減揺装置3は、ジンバル軸15がY軸方向に平行になるように配置される。更に、減揺装置3は、ジンバル軸15をジンバル11内部へ仮想的に延長した線がフライホイール20の回転中心18を貫通するように(回転軸17と交わるように)配置される。更に、減揺装置3は、船体2が静水面にいるとき、回転軸17がZ軸方向に平行になるように配置される。
 ロック機構14は、上述したようにアクチュエータを用いる機構であっても良い。図2Bは、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置の構成例を示す模式図である。ここでは、見易さのために発電機4及び制御装置5の記載を省略している。この図の例では、ロック機構14がアクチュエータを用いている点で、図2Aの例と相違している。そのロック機構14は、アクチュエータ14cとストッパ14dとを備えている。アクチュエータ14cは、油圧・空圧や電動のアクチュエータである。ストッパ14dは、アクチュエータ14cに接続されている。ストッパ14dは、ロック機構14の動作時に、アクチュエータ14cによりジンバル11の本体に押し付けられる。それにより、ロック機構14は、ジンバル11の本体に荷重を印荷してその揺動を停止して、ジンバル11の揺動をロックする。
 次に、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置及びそれを用いた船舶の動作について説明する。
1.揺動抑制動作
 減揺装置3は以下の原理に従いアンチローリングモーメントTを発生し、船舶1の減揺装置として機能する。フライホイール20は、モータ16の回転により自転している。自転するフライホイール20のZ軸まわりの慣性モーメントをI、自転速度をωとすると、フライホイール10の持つ角運動量Hは式(1)のようになる。
   H=I×ω   (1)
この状態において、フライホイール10をY軸まわりにθ・なる回転速度で回転させる場合を考える。その場合、X軸まわりに式(2)の大きさのモーメントTが発生する。
   T=H×θ・   (2)
すなわち、フライホイール10はX軸まわりにTなるモーメントで回転しようとする。なお、X軸、Y軸、Z軸の相対関係は不変である。
 次に、フライホイール10でY軸まわりにθ・なる回転速度が発生する原理を以下に述べる。図3及び図4は、本実施の形態に係る減揺装置の動作を示す模式図である。ただし、モータ16及び発電機4の記載を省略している。図3は、船体2が波によりX軸まわりに左舷に(船尾から見て反時計回りに)φ・なる回転速度で揺動する場合を示している。フライホイール20はY軸をジンバル軸15とするジンバル11に保持され、ジンバル支持部12を介して船体2に固定されている。そのため、フライホイール20はX軸まわりに自由に回転することはできず、X軸まわりに船体2と同じφ・なる回転速度で回転する。その結果、上記モーメントTの発生原理と同様の原理にて、Y軸まわりに式(3)の揺動トルクTが発生する。

その揺動トルクTにより、フライホイール20の回転が発生する。すなわち、その揺動トルクTにより、フライホイール20はY軸まわりにθ・なる回転速度にて回転する。図4は、フライホイール10が軸まわりにθ・なる回転速度にて回転する場合を示している。フライホイール10がY軸まわりにθ・なる回転速度にて回転すると、上述されたように、フライホイール10の角運動量Hとの作用により、X軸まわりにアンチローリングモーメントT(T=H×θ・)が発生する。しかし、フライホイール10はジンバル11にて船体2に固定されているので、そのモーメントTは船体2の揺動に対抗する方向に作用する。その結果、船体2の揺動とモーメントTとが打ち消し合い、船体2の揺動が抑制される。
 一方、船体2の揺動が逆方向の場合は全てが逆方向となり、発生するモーメントTも逆方向となる。そして、その場合にも、船体2の揺動とモーメントTとが打ち消し合い、船体2の揺動が抑制される。
 以上のようにして、発生するモーメントTは常に船体2の揺動と逆方向、すなわち、アンチローリングモーメントとして作用して、船体2の揺動が抑制される。
2.ロック動作
 上記1.揺動抑制動作の最中に、ジンバル11の揺動作動を急停止させたい事情が発生した場合(例示:減揺装置3の効果確認、ダンパ13の不調)を考える。その事情の発生は、ユーザが把握しても良いし、図示されないセンサ(例示:ダンパ13の温度センサ)などで検出しても良い。センサなどの場合、その検出信号は制御装置5に出力される。
 ユーザ又はソフトウェアは制御装置5を介してロック機構14を動作させる。ロック機構14は、ジンバル11の揺動(ジンバル作動)をロックする。図2~図4の例では、ロック機構14(ディスクブレーキ)は、ジンバル軸15に装着されたブレーキディスク14aを、駆動部14bにより強力に挟持する。それにより、ロック機構14は、ブレーキディスク14aの回転、すなわちジンバル軸15を停止させる。その結果、ジンバル11の揺動作動は、極めて短時間で停止する(急停止する)。
 以上のようにして、揺動抑制動作の最中に、ジンバル11の揺動作動を急停止させることができる。
 上記のように、本実施の形態の減揺装置3では、ロック機構14を有している。そのロック機構14により、ダンパ13が故障したときに揺動中のジンバル11がどの位相にあっても、ジンバル11の揺動作動をロックすることが可能となる。それにより、ダンパ13が故障したときでも減揺装置3が破損することを防止することが可能となる。
 更に、海上にて減揺装置3のジンバル11の揺動作動を急停止することで、減揺装置3の機能を停止することが可能となる。そのため、ほぼ同一の波の条件下で、減揺装置3がONしたときの船舶1の状態と、減揺装置3がOFFしたときの状態とを比較することができる。それにより、減揺装置3の効果を確認することが可能となる。
 更に、本実施の形態では、ダンパ13とロック機構14とを分離して減揺装置3に装着しているので、ダンパ13が故障しても、ロック機構14により安全に減揺装置3を停止させることができる。それにより、減揺装置3をより安全な装置とすることができる。
 なお、本実施の形態の減揺装置は、船舶の他にゴンドラやロープウェイ、モノレールやクレーン吊り荷などの揺動低減にも利用することができる。
 本発明は上記各実施の形態に限定されず、本発明の技術思想の範囲内において、各実施の形態は適宜変形又は変更され得ることは明らかである。
 本発明はいくつかの実施の形態と併せて上述されたが、これらの実施の形態は本発明を説明するために単に提供されたものであることは当業者にとって明らかであり、意義を限定するように添付のクレームを解釈するために頼ってはならない。

Claims (8)

  1.  フライホイールと、
     前記フライホイールを回転可能に支持するジンバルと、
     ジンバル軸を介して前記ジンバルを揺動可能に支持するジンバル支持部と、
     前記ジンバルの揺動を制動するダンパと、
     前記ジンバルの揺動をロックするロック機構と
     を具備する
     減揺装置。
  2.  請求項1に記載の減揺装置において、
     前記ロック機構は、前記ジンバル軸の揺動をロックするように設けられている
     減揺装置。
  3.  請求項2に記載の減揺装置において、
     前記ロック機構は、前記ジンバル軸の揺動をロックするディスクブレーキを含む
     減揺装置。
  4.  請求項1に記載の減揺装置において、
     前記ロック機構は、前記ジンバル本体の揺動をロックするように設けられている
     減揺装置。
  5.  請求項4に記載の減揺装置において、
     前記ロック機構は、前記ジンバル本体の揺動をロックするアクチュエータを含む
     減揺装置。
  6.  船体と、
     前記船体に設けられた請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の減揺装置と
     を具備する
     船舶。
  7.  請求項6に記載の船舶において、
     前記船舶用減揺装置は、ジンバル軸が前記船体のピッチ軸方向と平行になるように設置される
     船舶。
  8.  船舶の減揺装置の動作方法であって、
     船舶を準備するステップと、
      ここで、前記船舶は、
      船体と、
      前記船体に設けられた前記減揺装置と
      を具備し、
      前記減揺装置は、
      フライホイールと、
      前記フライホイールを回転可能に支持するジンバルと、
      ジンバル軸を介して前記ジンバルを揺動可能に支持するジンバル支持部と、
      前記ジンバルの揺動を制動するダンパと、
      前記ジンバルの揺動をロックするロック機構と
      を備え、
     前記フライホイールを自転させるステップと、
     前記フライホイールの自転及び前記船体の揺動により前記ジンバルが揺動するとき、前記ロック機構で前記ジンバルの揺動をロックするステップと
     を具備する
     船舶の減揺装置の動作方法。
