Description

Title; Method and System for Food Tracking and Food Ordering Technical Field:
Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to food ordering and tracking methods and systems, and more particularly, to methods and systems for selecting and ordering at least one food product by utilizing at least one interactive cods on a food menu sign.
Background Art:
The Halai food industry involves farm-to-table operation, Currently, some appalling and unethical Halai foods manufacturers do not compiy with regulation set by the Malaysia authorities. The commotion pertaining to this issue was immense where the Muslim consumers in Malaysia began to question the effectiveness of Halai foods traceabiisty and tracking currently used in Malaysia (Zailani et al. 2010). Recently, this issue is also being faced by the consumers eating in food courts.
Food courts and fast food restaurant offer a variety of food categories to its customers, However, a troublesome view often seen at the food courts and fast food restaurant leaves the customer a bit hesitant of their favorite food items and the customer needs to wast in long queues to place order, Especially, in food court, the customers are not aware of at which food stall their desired food dish would be available and the customer has to move from one food staii to the other in search for the desired food dish. Prior order generating wireless devices systems have been attempted and implemented. One such system is disclosed within U.S. Pat. No. 6,366,220 B1 , to Brig Barnum Elliott, issued on Apr. 2, 2002, is directed to a system and method for allowing a customer to order drive-through menu items using a customer vehicle equipped with the radio frequency (RF) tag. Prior to piacing an order, the customer opens an account and creates a default menu using a food vendor's web site. To order items from the default menu, the customer approaches a drive-through order station at a fast food vendor location. As the customer vehicle passes the order station a first transponder queries the RF tag and processes a return signal. Identification information is extracted from return signal such that the customers order, consisting of the default menu items, is prepared. The customer's vehicle then approaches pick-up station and a second transponder queries the RF tag and subsequently bills the customer's account for the ordered items.
However, the prior systems and methods are unable to communicate restaurant orders generated on wireless devices to vending establishments which are not capable, either temporarily or permanently, to handie wireless communications with the wireless devices. Moreover, the consumer is not able to track Halal information of the food dish before ordering food in real time.
Accordingly, there remains a need in the art for methods and systems to track Halal information of the food dish before ordering food in restaurants in real time. Disclosure of the invention:
