Definitions
- the subject of the invention is a pet food sample packet that can mostly be used to identify the content of a package to which it is attached and which contains pet food in larger amount, same with the sample, without needing to open the identified package. It is known that when keeping animals, particularly pets kept for pleasure purposes, the feeding of animals happens most significantly with pet food specially produced for the given species by food processing companies, mostly packed in packages. Its packaging, especially unit packages and even more particularly the fluid-containing, mostly oil and essential oil containing package is vacuum packed and made predominantly of plastic or aluminium film, has a best before date, preserves its quality during a determined period of time in an unopened state and when opened, it is suitable for consumption for a significantly shorter time.
- the basis of the invention is the conscious application of the knowledge that a pet chooses a given food based on its smell. This way merely by offering fragrances, it can be deducted which food the pet would go for on that occasion, based on the pet's reaction.
- the invention solves the task by providing a pet food sample packet, where the essence of the first solution of the pet food sample packet that it has a bag made out of impermeable to air film in the bag there is a sample amount of substance containing pet food fragrance material, the bag is closed by airtight sealing closing the amount of substance in the inner closed space of the bag and on one outer side of the bag there is a surface outlined for attaching.
- the surface outlined for attaching is prepared to be self-adhesive.
- the sample packet on the surface outlined for attaching there is an adhesive layer.
- the sample packet can be attached to package, particularly to unit of package, tin of pet food of the same material or fragrance or it can be on display anywhere according to purpose, for example on mall shelves etc. or can be applied on its own without being attached.
- the sample packet can be opened by opening up the closed space containing the substance, tearing it open, breaking up its sealing.
- the packet is furnished with a tab designed to facilitate the opening of the packet.
- the opening of the sample packet is also facilitated by the construction where the packet is furnished with a tongue overarching the sealing of the bag.
- the packaging film constituting the material of the bag possesses impermeable to air qualities and is an impermeable to air material made of aluminium and/or plastic such as PVC, polyethylene or a substance of similar qualities, it is a thin film mostly of 0.05-0.005 mm thickness.
- the bag can be prepared from one piece of film or sheet of film by folding it in half and sealing it airtight on its two sides or by joining two sheets of film or piece of film in an airtight way or by any method known for making bags.
- the airtight sealing of the bag is created via a method applicable for the material of the film and food sample as heat transfer and applying pressure, welding, gluing, and laminating .
- a method applicable for the material of the film and food sample as heat transfer and applying pressure, welding, gluing, and laminating .
- odourless adhesives or adhesives for gluing purposes odourless adhesives or adhesives
- the packet could be resealed after once opened.
- the essence of the second solution of the pet food sample packet according to the invention that it has an impermeable to air sheet of film, there is a sample amount of substance containing pet food fragrance material on one side of the sheet of film, the sheet of film has an adhesive surface arranged on this side surrounding the amount of substance and outlined for airtight sealing.
- the adhesive surface of the film outlined for attaching purposes has adhesive layer. Odourless adhesives or glue, lacquer containing quickly evaporating volatiles are used as adhesive.
- This type of the sample packet can only be applied in an efficient way when attached and fixed onto a carrier
- containing the pet food of same fragrance may serve as such carrier surface or according to purpose other objects with a smooth surface assuring that the amount of substance
- This type of the sample packet can also be opened by opening up the closed space mostly via tearing it up or by damaging the sealing.
- the film is formed with a tab facilitating its opening is rather efficient.
- there is a tongue overarching the sealing between the film and the carrier also abets the opening of the sample packet.
- a film of 0.05- 0.005 mm thickness made of aluminium and/or plastic such as PVC or polyethylene or a material possessing similar qualities. The shape and the size of the piece of film is depending each time on the sample's perfect airtight
- the sample amount of substance containing pet food fragrance material may be a small amount of the pet food, such as a drop of oil or a piece of material, or a piece of carrier such as paper or textile soaked in the pet food or in the liquid mostly oil component of the pet food or in the component of the pet food having the dominant fragrance, or in an additive of the pet food such as flavour, or in a fragrance material similar with the nature of the food that gives the determining fragrance, or it may be the same fragrance material in the form of micro-capsules mixed in adhesives and fixed onto the film or carrier.
- the micro-capsules need to be opened as well besides opening the sealed space in order to open the packet.
- the opening of micro-capsules will be described as follows .
- the essence of the third solution of the pet food sample packet is that the sample amount of substance containing pet food fragrance material is fixed onto one side of a carrier in the form of micro-capsules and the carrier is furnished with adhesion supporting surface.
- the airtight sealing is guaranteed by the encapsulated form of the substance containing the fragrance.
- the micro-encapsulated substance is mixed into binders, mostly glues, lacquer or painting etc. and fixed or laid onto the surface of the carrier.
- Binders free of volatiles or containing quickly evaporating substance are used.
- the sample carrier is a carrier of general use thus paper, film etc. such as the paper or film forming part of the packaging material, the label or flyer describing the pet food.
- the material, shape and the size of the piece of film or carrier is depending each time on the exact purpose.
- the purpose of the adhesion supporting surface of the carrier is to fix the sample packet to a surface.
- this adhesion supporting surface has adhesive layer on.
- the adhesive layer is free of volatiles or containing quickly evaporating substance. It is preferable to use an adhesive layer, which is able to fix several times. Opening up this type of the sample packet is achieved by opening the micro-capsules of usually 0.5-2000 ⁇ diameter.
- the act of opening of the micro-capsules can happen in several ways and consists mostly in rubbing, or scratch any other way the binder-surface, or printed text or emblem containing the micro-capsules during which the microcapsules get damaged and the fragrance is freed up.
- Figure 1 shows the perspective view of an embodiment of the first solution of the sample packet
- Figure 2 shows the perspective view of an embodiment of the second solution of the sample packet
- Figure 3 shows the perspective view of an embodiment of the third solution of the sample packet.
- the sample packet has a bag made out of a lower sheet of impermeable to air plastic film 2 with an upper sheet of impermeable to air plastic film 4 attached onto it, where the upper sheet of film 4 is folded up along one of its edge for a better illustration.
- substance 1 may be for instance a piece of the food, or a piece of textile or paper soaked in fragrance material, a drop of fluid containing the essential oil or microencapsulated fragrance material mixed in glue or adhesives, etc .
- the sample packet shown in figure 2 has an impermeable to air sheet of film 12 of plastic or aluminium, on one side of the film 12 there is a sample amount of substance 11 containing pet food fragrance material.
- the amount of substance 11 may for instance be a piece of the food, or a piece of textile or paper soaked in fragrance material, a drop of fluid containing essential oil, an amount of micro- encapsulated fragrance material mixed in glue or adhesives etc.
- the sample packet shown in figure 3 has a sample amount of micro-encapsulated substance containing pet food fragrance material 21 which amount in this example is fixed onto a paper label 22 as carrier and where it is mixed into a circle shaped spot of painting next to the printed text on the side of the label 22.
- the other side of the paper label 22 is prepared with an adhesive surface 23 for attaching purposes .
- the principal advantage of the pet food sample packet according to the invention is that attached to any given pet food, and in particular when fixed onto a unit of package, its content can be identified without actually opening the package merely by its fragrance and solely by opening the sample packet applying physical force.
- the sample packet can not only be used for identifying substance specifically with fluid, oil and essential oil content, but to identify any other substance having a fragrance .
- a further advantage of the fragrance sample packet is that by its use the relationship of the caretaker and the pet can become more intimate and even feeding the animal can be playful and can be turned into a playful way of learning besides the fact that the amount of wasted food can
