- the payment system 1 uses a virtual society for authentication of a general payment system.
- the authentication terminal device 100 performs user authentication based on the user information in the virtual society 20 captured from the virtual society 20.
- the authentication terminal device 100 determines that the authentication is successful on the condition that the user information in the real society 10 is associated with the user information in the virtual society 20.
- the present embodiment is based on the condition that when the settlement of the real society 10 is made, the authentication can be associated with the virtual society 20. That is, since the user information in the virtual society is used for the settlement in the real society 10, the burden of the authentication procedure in the real society 10 can be reduced.
- this authentication system instead of the biometric authentication. Therefore, it is possible to provide a settlement system and a settlement method that can improve security at the time of transaction and improve user convenience without making a large capital investment for system construction.
- the company that provides the payment means and the company that operates the virtual society are often the same, and in this case, authentication can be performed more easily and reliably. There is an effect that can be done.
- the user table 120 shows an example of a configuration connected to the network N.
- the user table 120 may be configured to be provided in the authentication terminal device 100 or a virtual social management company.
- the authentication terminal device 100, the settlement server device 110, the user table 120, and the like can be configured using cloud computing technology.
- the names of the payment system and the payment method are used. However, this is for convenience of explanation, and may be an authentication system, an authentication method, or the like.
- the settlement method described above can also be realized by a program for causing the settlement method to function.
- This program may be stored in a computer-readable recording medium.
- the settlement system and the settlement method according to the present invention are preferably used for a network settlement system.
