Some of these advantages, apart from having an exceptional performance/weight ratio, are; ease of processing, gas barrier property, protection from humidity, impermeability, lightness and esthetic appearance. Flexible film packages are also preferred by the manufacturers since they are appropriate for the mass production with low cost. Also, presence of protective properties with respect to paper or cardboard makes films environment friendly. The desired property in fruit juice packages is that the acids do not corrode package interior surface. While flexible film packages provide advantage in fruit juice or liquid food packages, hardness of sticking straws appears as a disadvantage.
