Abstract

Aluminerie comprenant: (i) une série de cuves (2) d'électrolyse, comprenant une anode (9), une cathode et un caisson muni d'une paroi latérale (7a) et d'un fond, chaque cathode comprenant au moins une sortie cathodique (12), (ii) un circuit électrique principal parcouru par un courant d'électrolyse, comprenant un conducteur électrique (14) relié à chaque sortie cathodique (12) d'une cuve N, et à l'anode (9) d'une cuve N+1, (iii) un moyen pour stabiliser les cuves (2) d'électrolyse parmi un circuit électrique secondaire (5, 6) ou l'utilisation d'une cathode à surface crénelée. Une des sorties cathodiques (12) de la cuve N traverse le fond du caisson; chaque conducteur électrique (14) s'étend depuis chaque sortie cathodique (12) de la cuve N en direction de la cuve N+1 et est parcouru lors du fonctionnement des cuves (2) d'électrolyse N, N+1 par le courant d'électrolyse dans un sens amont-aval uniquement.
