Abstract

 誘導加熱装置(101)は、回転軸を有する回転体(11)と、回転体(11)と間隔をあけて配置される加熱部(13)を有するステータ部(12)とを備える。回転体(11)には、加熱部(13)の方向に磁束を発生するコイル(15)が設けられる。加熱部(13)は、磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成され、磁性材料部(131)と導電材料部(132)とを組み合わせた構造を有する。コイル(15)が加熱部(13)の対向位置にあるとき、加熱部(13)におけるコイル(15)から発生する磁束の鎖交面積よりも磁性材料部(131)の断面積が小さく、かつ、磁性材料部(131)の周囲を囲むように導電材料部(132)が配置されている。加熱部(13)には、熱媒体が流通する流通路(14)が設けられている。

Description

誘導加熱装置、及びそれを備える発電システム
 本発明は、誘導加熱を利用して熱媒体を加熱する誘導加熱装置、及びそれを備える発電システムに関する。
 水を加熱する装置として、誘導加熱(渦電流)を利用した加熱装置が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。特許文献1に記載の渦電流加熱装置は、外周に永久磁石が配置された回転可能なロータと、このロータの外側に固定して設けられ、内部に水を流通させる流通路が形成された導電材料の加熱部とを備える。そして、ロータが回転することにより、ロータ外周の永久磁石による磁力線(磁束)が加熱部を貫通して移動することで、加熱部に渦電流が発生して、加熱部自体が発熱する。その結果、加熱部で発生した熱が内部の流通路を流通する水に伝達され、水が加熱される。
 上記の技術は風力などのエネルギーを利用して給湯を行うことを主目的としたものであるが、近年、同じく風力、水力、波力などの再生可能エネルギーを利用した発電システムが注目されている。
 例えば非特許文献1~3には、風力発電に関する技術が記載されている。風力発電は、風で風車を回転させ、発電機を駆動して発電するものであり、風のエネルギーを回転エネルギーに変換して、電気エネルギーとして取り出すものである。風力発電システムは、塔の上部にナセルを設置し、このナセルに水平軸風車(風の方向に対して回転軸がほぼ平行な風車)を取り付けた構造が一般的である。ナセルには、風車の回転軸の回転数を増速して出力する増速機と、増速機の出力によって駆動される発電機とが格納されている。増速機は、風車の回転数を発電機の回転数まで高める(例えば1:100)ものであり、ギアボックスが組み込まれている。
 最近では、発電コストを下げるため、風車(風力発電システム)を大型化する傾向があり、風車の直径が120m以上、1基当たりの出力が5MWクラスの風力発電システムが実用化されている。このような大型の風力発電システムは、巨大かつ重量物であるため建設上の理由から、洋上に建設されるケースが多い。
 また、風力発電では、風力の変動に伴い発電出力(発電量)が変動するため、風力発電システムに蓄電システムを併設し、不安定な電力を蓄電池に蓄えて、出力を平滑化することが行われている。

 しかし、上記した特許文献1に記載されるような従来の誘導加熱装置では、加熱部がステンレス鋼やアルミニウム合金などの単一の導電材料で形成されているため、十分な熱エネルギー(発熱量)が得られず、所望の温度まで熱媒体(例えば、水などの液体)を加熱できない虞がある。
 一方、一般に広く知られている風力発電システムでは、出力平滑化のため蓄電システムが設置されているが、蓄電システムには電力を蓄電池に蓄えるためにコンバータなどの部品が必要である。そのため、システムの複雑化、電力損失の増大を招く。また、大型の風力発電システムの場合では、発電量に応じた大容量の蓄電池が必要であり、システム全体としてのコスト増大を招く。
 また、風力発電システムの故障原因の多くは、増速機、より具体的にはギアボックスのトラブルによるものである。ギアボックスが故障すると、通常はギアボックスを交換することで対処しているが、塔の上部にナセルが設置されている場合は、ギアボックスの取り付け・取り外しに多大な時間と労力を要する。そこで最近では、増速機を必要としないギアレスの可変速風力発電機もある。
 しかし、ギアレスの場合、具体的には発電機の極数を増やすこと(多極発電機)で対応するが、増速機を使用する場合と比較して、発電機が大型・重量化する。特に、5MWクラスの大型の風力発電システムでは、発電機の重量が300トン(300000kg)を超えるものと考えられ、ナセル内に配置することが困難である。
 本発明は、上記の事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的の一つは、発熱量を向上でき、熱媒体を加熱するのに適した性能を有する誘導加熱装置を提供することにある。また、別の目的は、上記の誘導加熱装置を備える発電システムを提供することにある。
 本発明者らは、誘導加熱装置を設計するにあたり、発熱量を更に高めるために試行錯誤した結果、外部から周期的に変化する磁場(磁束)が印加される導電材料(加熱部)には、下記の式に従って発熱が生じることを算出した。

 上記の右辺の式において、f0は周波数、Rは加熱部の内径、nは極数、σは加熱部の導電率、μは加熱部の透磁率、B1yは加熱部での磁場強度である。また、ωは角速度(ω=2πf0)、δは加熱部の表皮厚さ(δ=[2/(ωμσ)]1/2)、kは波数(k=n/R)、νは速度(ν=ω/k)である。そして、この式から、加熱部は、透磁率(μ)及び導電率(σ)が共に高い材料で形成することが、発熱量の向上に有効との知見を得た。なお、右辺の式において、分母にμが含まれるのに、μが高い方が発熱量(W)が大きくなる理由は、式中のB1yはμH1yで表わされ、結果的に分子にμの3/2乗が残るためである。H1yは加熱部での磁界である。ここで、上記の数1において、H1yを使って表現しないのは、実際に測定できるのは磁束密度であるため、数1の表現の方が実用上利用し易いと考えたからである。本発明は、以上の知見に基づいてなされたものである。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置は、熱媒体を加熱する装置であり、回転軸を有する回転体と、回転体と間隔をあけて配置される加熱部を有するステータ部と、を備える。回転体には、加熱部に対向するように、加熱部の方向に磁束を発生する磁束発生部が設けられている。加熱部は、磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成され、磁性材料部と導電材料部とを組み合わせた構造を有する。そして、磁束発生部が加熱部の対向位置にあるとき、加熱部における磁束発生部から発生する磁束の鎖交面積よりも磁性材料部の断面積が小さく、かつ、磁性材料部の周囲を囲むように導電材料部が配置されている。また、加熱部には、熱媒体が流通する流通路が設けられていることを特徴とする。
 加熱部を単一材料で形成する場合、一般にμ及びσが共に高い材料は存在しないので、設計に合わせた最適な材料を得ることは難しい。上記構成によれば、加熱部をμの高い磁性材料とσの高い導電材料との複合材料で形成するため、加熱部のμ及びσを自由に選択して設計することができ、発熱量の向上を図ることができる。また、磁束発生部が加熱部の対向位置にあるとき、加熱部における磁束発生部から発生する磁束の鎖交面積よりも磁性材料部の断面積が小さくなっており、このとき磁束発生部の磁束が鎖交する加熱部の領域には、磁性材料部と導電材料部とが混在し、μ及びσが調整される。磁性材料部は、例えば、磁性発生部から発生する磁束方向と平行(即ち加熱部の厚さ方向)に一端面から他端面まで延びるように柱状や板状に形成することが挙げられる。
 磁性材料部を形成する磁性材料としては、μの高い材料、例えば比透磁率に換算して1000以上である磁性材料を選択することが好ましい。具体的には、鉄、ニッケル、コバルト、ケイ素鋼、パーマロイ及びフェライトなどが挙げられる。一方、導電材料部を形成する導電材料としては、σの高い材料、例えばσが3×107S/m以上である導電材料を選択することが好ましい。具体的には、アルミニウムや銅などの金属並びにその合金が挙げられる。ただし、磁性材料と導電材料には異なる材料を選択し、磁性材料と導電材料との組み合わせの一例としては、磁性材料に鉄系材料、導電材料にアルミニウム系材料や銅系材料を選択することが挙げられる。アルミニウム系材料や銅系材料は熱伝導性にも優れる点で好ましく、また、熱媒体が流通する流通路は導電材料で形成された導電材料部に設けることが好ましい。特に、導電材料部をアルミニウム系材料で形成すると、加熱部の軽量化を図ることができ、もって誘導加熱装置の軽量化を図ることができる。熱媒体としては、例えば、水、油、液体金属(Na、Pbなど)、溶融塩などの液体並びに気体が挙げられる。
 また、回転せず固定された加熱部に流通路を設けることで、流通路に連通して外部から熱媒体を供給・排出する給排管と流通路との接続に、流通路の回動を許容する回転継手を用いる必要がなく、簡易な構成で、堅牢な接続を実現できる。具体的には、熱媒体が加熱されることで、流通路内の圧力が上昇し、例えば熱媒体が水(蒸気)の場合では600℃で約25MPa(250気圧)に達すると考えられる。加熱部(流通路)が回転する場合は、その圧力に耐え得る特殊な回転継手が必要であるところ、回転せず固定されている場合は、回転継手の必要がなく、例えば給排管と流通路との接続に溶接といった単純な方法を採用しても、十分に堅牢な接続構造を実現できる。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置の一形態としては、磁束発生部が加熱部の対向位置にあるとき、磁束発生部の磁束が鎖交する加熱部の領域に磁性材料部が複数存在することが挙げられる。
 この構成によれば、磁束発生部の磁束が鎖交する加熱部の領域に磁性材料部が複数存在することで、磁性材料部を複数に分割したような構造である。加熱部におけるμとσとの偏りを小さくして、熱分布を均一化することができる。また、例えば各磁性材料部間の導電材料部に熱媒体が流通する流通路を設けることで、熱媒体に熱を伝導させ、熱を効率よく取り出すことができる。さらに、磁性材料部の1つあたりの重量及び大きさを小さくすることができるので、組立作業性にも優れる。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置の一形態としては、磁性材料部の断面形状が円形又は多角形であることが挙げられる。
 磁性材料部の断面形状は、任意の形状とすることができ、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、円形や多角形とすることができる。円形とする場合、真円形や楕円形としたり、多角形とする場合、三角形や四角形としたりするなど、種々の形状を採用できる。特に、磁性材料部の断面形状が円形のように周縁が丸味を帯びた形状であると、コギングトルクを低減して、回転体の回転を滑らかにすることができる。なお、磁性材料部の断面形状とは、磁束発生部から発生する磁束方向と直交する断面の形状のことをいう。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置の一形態としては、磁束発生部から発生する磁束が、コイルによるものであることが挙げられる。
 磁束の発生手段としては、永久磁石やコイル(電磁石)を用いることができる。コイルとしては、銅線などの常電導コイルや超電導線材を用いた超電導コイルが挙げられる。コイルを用いる場合、永久磁石を用いる場合と比較して、強い磁場を発生させることができる。具体的には、コイルに通電する電流を大きくすることで、強い磁場を発生させることができ、通電電流を制御することで磁場の強さを調整することも可能である。発熱量は磁場強度の2乗に比例することから、発熱量の更なる向上が期待できる。また、コイルであれば、永久磁石と比較して、温度上昇による磁気特性の低下や、経時的な磁気特性の劣化が起こり難い。したがって、磁束発生部から発生する磁束がコイルによるものである場合、通電電流を大きくして十分な磁場強度を維持し易く、熱媒体を所定の温度(例えば、100℃~600℃)まで加熱するのに十分な性能(熱エネルギー)を得ることができる。例えば、上記した特許文献1の誘導加熱装置では、加熱部に対向し、加熱部の近い位置に永久磁石が配置されているため、加熱部からの熱の影響により永久磁石の温度が上昇し易く、磁気特性が低下して、結果的に所望の温度まで熱媒体を加熱できない虞があると考えられる。なお、コイルには直流電流を流し、直流磁場を発生させることが挙げられる。
 さらに、コイルに直流電流を流し、直流磁場を発生させる場合、超電導コイルであれば、電気抵抗がゼロであり、大電流を流してもコイルに発熱(損失)が実質的に生じない。そのため、常電導コイルに比較して、大電流を流すことによるコイルの発熱(損失)を抑制することができ、電力損失なしで極めて強い磁場を維持することができる。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置の一形態としては、回転軸が風車に接続され、回転体を回転させる動力に風力を利用することが挙げられる。
 回転体(回転軸)の動力には、電動機やエンジンなどの内燃機関を用いることができるが、風力、水力、波力などの再生可能エネルギーを利用することが好ましい。再生可能エネルギーを利用すれば、CO2の増加を抑制でき、中でも風力を利用することが好適である。
 本発明の発電システムは、上記した本発明の誘導加熱装置と、この誘導加熱装置により加熱した熱媒体の熱を電気エネルギーに変換する発電部とを備えることを特徴とする。
 この発電システムは、上記した誘導加熱装置を利用して加熱した熱媒体の熱を発電に利用するものであり、従来にない新規な発電システムである。例えば誘導加熱装置の回転軸に風車を接続し、回転体の動力に風力を利用すれば、風のエネルギーを回転エネルギー→熱エネルギーに変換して、電気エネルギーとして取り出すことができる。一例としては、熱媒体の水を加熱して高温高圧蒸気を生成し、その蒸気を利用して蒸気タービンにより発電機を回転させて発電することが挙げられる。そして、この発電システムによれば、熱を電気エネルギーに変換する構成としたことで、蓄熱器を用いて熱としてエネルギーを蓄えることにより、効率のよい安定した発電を実現できる。また、熱を蓄熱器に蓄えると同時に蓄熱器から発電に必要な熱を取り出すことができる蓄熱システムは、蓄電システムに比べて簡易であり、蓄熱器も蓄電池に比べれば安価である。さらに、従来の風力発電システムのように増速機を設ける必要がなく、ギアボックスのトラブルを回避することが可能である。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置は、加熱部が磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成され磁性材料部と導電材料部とを組み合わせた構造を有することで、発熱量を向上させることができる。また、本発明の発電システムは、上記した誘導加熱装置を利用して加熱した熱媒体の熱を発電部により電気エネルギーに変換して発電することができる。

 本発明の実施の形態を、図を用いて説明する。なお、図中、同一符号は同一又は相当部分を示す。
 <誘導加熱装置>
 (実施の形態1)
 図1~3に示す実施の形態1に係る誘導加熱装置101は、回転体11と、加熱部13を有するステータ部12と、を備える。以下、誘導加熱装置101の構成を詳しく説明する。
 回転体11は、回転可能に支持された回転軸21を有し、軸方向から見た外形形状が、径方向に突出する複数の凸部111を有する歯車形状に形成されている。この例では、8つの凸部111を有し、各凸部111が周方向に等間隔に形成されている。また、回転体11の外周には、後述する磁束発生部(この例ではコイル15)が設けられている。なお、ここでは、回転体11が反時計方向に回転するものとする(図2中の矢印は回転方向を示す)。
 回転体11を形成する材料としては、磁性材料、非磁性材料を問わず、機械的強度を有し、コイル15を支持可能な材料であればよく、構造強度と長期耐久性(耐候性及び耐食性)に優れる材料が好ましい。例えば、構造用材料に使用される鉄、鋼、ステンレス、アルミニウム合金、マグネシウム合金、GFRP(ガラス繊維強化プラスチック)やCFRP(炭素繊維強化プラスチック)などの複合材料が挙げられる。
 この例では、回転体11(凸部111を含む)が非磁性材料で形成されている。コイル15に常電導コイルを用いる場合は、回転体11を磁性材料で形成することが好ましい。一方、超電導コイルを用いる場合は、回転体11は磁性材料、非磁性材料のいずれで形成してもよい。
 加熱部13は、回転体11の径方向外側に回転体11と間隔をあけて配置されており、回転体11の周囲を取り囲むように円筒状に形成されている。この加熱部13は、回転しないステータ部12に固定されている。
 コイル15は、加熱部13に対向するように回転体11の各凸部111に巻回され取り付けられており、回転体11の径方向(加熱部13の方向)に磁束を発生する磁束発生部である。また、各コイル15には、図示しない直流電源が接続される。この例では、各コイル15に通電する直流電流の向きを制御して、発生させる磁場(磁束)の方向を決定しており、隣り合うコイル15の極性が互いに異なるようにしている(図2参照)。各コイル15は、超電導コイルであり、周囲を図示しない冷却用ジャケットで覆われ、冷却することによって超電導状態に保持されている。コイル15には常電導コイルを用いてもよく、コイル15に代えて永久磁石を用いてもよい。また、コイル15には、例えばスリップリングを介して外部の電源と接続し、電流を供給すればよい。
 加熱部13には、コイル15から発生する磁束が通過する。加熱部13は、磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成され、磁性材料部131と導電材料部132とを組み合わせた構造を有する。この例では、磁性材料に鉄を含有する鉄系材料、導電材料にアルミニウムを含有するアルミニウム系材料や銅を含有する銅系材料をそれぞれ選択し、磁性材料部131が鉄系材料、導電材料部132がアルミニウム系材料や銅系材料でそれぞれ形成されている。
 この加熱部13において、コイル15が対向位置にあるとき、コイル15から発生する磁束の鎖交面積(この例では、凸部111の断面積に相当)よりも磁性材料部131の断面積が小さくなっており、このときコイル15の磁束が鎖交する加熱部13の領域には、磁性材料部131と導電材料部132とが混在し、また、磁性材料部131が複数分散して存在する(図2参照)。
 加熱部13の構造を詳しく説明すると、図3に示すように、磁性材料部131は断面形状が円形の円柱状部材であり、導電材料部132はこの磁性材料部131の周囲を囲むように配置されている。また、磁性材料部131は、加熱部13の厚さ方向に内周面から外周面まで延びるように形成され、加熱部13の軸方向に複数等間隔に配列されている。そして、この磁性材料部131の列が、加熱部13の全周にわたって複数等間隔に配置されており、導電材料部132がこれら各磁性材料部131を囲むように一体に形成されている。
 加熱部13には、熱媒体が流通する流通路14が設けられている。この例では、加熱部13の軸方向と平行するように、周方向に隣り合う磁性材料部131間の導電材料部132の内部に貫通する孔を形成することで直線状の流通路14が設けられている(図3参照)。例えばこの例では、流通路14の一端側から熱媒体を供給し、他端側から排出する構成としたり、流通路14の一端側において、流通路14と別の流通路14とを接続する接続管を取り付け、流通路14の他端側から熱媒体を供給し、接続管を介して、別の流通路14の他端側から排出する構成としたりすることが挙げられる。即ち、前者の場合は片道の流路、後者の場合は往復の流路となり、後者の場合、前者の場合と比較して、熱媒体の加熱距離を長くすることができる。
 さらに、この例では、ステータ部12が磁性材料からなる円筒状のヨーク部125を有し、ヨーク部125が加熱部13の回転体11側とは反対側(加熱部13の外周)に配置されている。そして、各磁性材料部131がヨーク部125に接続されヨーク部125を介して連結されている。
 また、加熱部13の周囲には、断熱材(図示せず)を配置してもよい。例えばこの例では、加熱部13の内外周面、及び加熱部13の端面のうち流通路14の形成箇所を除く箇所に断熱材を設けることが挙げられる。断熱材には、例えば、ロックウール、グラスウール、発砲プラスチック、レンガ、セラミックスなどを用いることができる。
 次に、誘導加熱装置101における熱媒体が加熱されるメカニズムについて詳しく説明する。
 誘導加熱装置101では、コイル15が通電されることで、回転体11の径方向に磁束が発生し、加熱部13を磁束が通過する。コイル15が加熱部13の対向位置にあるとき、コイル15の磁束が鎖交する加熱部13の領域では、多くの磁束が通過し、磁場が強くなる。一方、コイル15が加熱部13の対向位置にないとき、コイル15の磁束が鎖交しない加熱部13の領域では、通過する磁束が減少し、磁場が弱くなる。そして、回転体11と共にコイル15が回転することにより、加熱部13に対してコイル15が相対的に移動することで、加熱部13の全周にわたって通過する磁束が変化し、加熱部13に印加される磁場が周期的に変化する。その結果、加熱部13に渦電流が発生することで、加熱部13が発熱し、その熱で流通路内の熱媒体が加熱される。
 ここで、誘導加熱装置101では、加熱部13が磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成されているため、加熱部13のμ及びσを調整して発熱量が高くなるように設計することで、発熱量の向上を図ることができる。また、コイル15の磁束が鎖交する加熱部13の領域に磁性材料部131が複数分散して存在し、かつ、加熱部13の全体に磁性材料部131が均等に配置されているため、全体的に加熱部13におけるμとσとの偏りがなく、加熱部13の熱分布を均一化することができる。そして、周方向に配列される磁性材料部131間の導電材料部132に流通路14が設けられているため、熱媒体に熱を伝導させ、熱を効率よく取り出すことができる。さらに、各磁性材料部131が同じ磁性材料からなるヨーク部125を介して連結されていることで、磁性材料部131(加熱部13)に流れる磁束を多くすることができ、発熱量の更なる向上が期待できる。
 その他、誘導加熱装置101では、隣り合うコイル15の極性が互いに異なることから、N極のコイル15が対向する場合とS極のコイル15が対向する場合とでは、磁束(磁場)の方向が異なる。N極のコイル15が加熱部13の対向位置にあるときは、磁束(磁場)の方向が加熱部13の内周側から外周側方向(径方向の+方向)となる。一方、S極のコイル15が加熱部13の対向位置にあるときは、磁束(磁場)の方向が、加熱部13の外周側から内周側方向(径方向の-方向)となる。つまり、回転体11と共にコイル15が回転することにより、磁束(磁場)の方向が周期的に逆転しながら変化する。
 さらに、磁性材料部131の断面形状が円形であり、コギングトルクを低減して、回転体の構造を滑らかにすることができる。
 (変形例1)
 上記した実施の形態1に係る誘導加熱装置101では、図3に例示したように、加熱部13の磁性材料部131が断面円形の円柱状部材である場合を例に説明したが、磁性材料部131の形状はこれに限定されるものではない。例えば、磁性材料部131が断面多角形の角柱状部材であってもよい。
 また、図4に例示するように、磁性材料部131が板状部材であってもよい。図4に例示する加熱部13の構造では、磁性材料部131が断面四角形の板状部材であり、導電材料部132がこの磁性材料部131の周囲を囲むように配置されている。磁性材料部131は、加熱部13の厚さ方向に内周面から外周面まで延びるように形成され、加熱部13の軸方向と平行に立設状態で配置されている。そして、この磁性材料部131が、加熱部13の全周にわたって複数等間隔に配置されており、導電材料部132がこれら各磁性材料部131を囲むように一体に形成されている。この例では、磁性材料部131を加熱部13の軸方向に平行するように配置しているが、磁性材料部131を加熱部13の軸方向に傾斜するように配置してもよい。また、磁性材料部131を加熱部13の軸方向に直交するように配置し、加熱部13の軸方向に複数等間隔に配列してもよい。
 さらに、磁性材料部131が柱状部材である場合、図3に例示する加熱部13の構造では、磁性材料部131を加熱部13の軸方向及び周方向に整列するように配置しているが、千鳥状(ジグザグ状)に配置してもよい。
 (変形例2)
 上記した実施の形態1に係る誘導加熱装置101では、図3に例示したように、加熱部13の軸方向と平行するように直線状の流通路14が設けられている場合を例に説明したが、流通路14の形状はこれに限定されるものではない。例えば、図3に例示する加熱部13の構造において、図5(A)に例示するように、軸方向に隣り合う磁性材料部131間の導体材料部132の内部を通るように流通路141,142を蛇行させて設けてもよい。また、流通路141,142は互いに、加熱部13の厚さ方向の異なる位置に設けられている。なお、図5(A)は図3の加熱部13を回転体11側、即ち加熱部13の内周面側から見た展開図である(図5(B)も同じ)。さらに、図5(B)に例示するように、周方向に隣り合う磁性材料部131間の導体材料部132を周方向に連続して通るように流通路14を蛇行させて設けてもよい。
 <発電システム>
 次に、図6を用いて、本発明に係る発電システムの全体構成の一例を説明する。図6に示す発電システムPは、誘導加熱装置10と、風車20と、蓄熱器50と、発電部60とを備える。塔91の上部に設置されたナセル92に風車20が取り付けられ、ナセル92内に誘導加熱装置10が格納されている。また、塔91の下部(土台)に建てられた建屋93に蓄熱器50及び発電部60が設置されている。以下、発電システムPの構成を詳しく説明する。
 誘導加熱装置10は、本発明の誘導加熱装置であり、例えば、上記した実施の形態1に係る誘導加熱装置101を利用することができる。また、回転軸21の他端側が後述する風車20に直結され、回転体を回転させる動力に風力を利用している。なお、ここでは、熱媒体が水である場合を例に説明する。
 風車20は、水平方向に延びる回転軸21を中心に、3枚の翼201を回転軸21に放射状に取り付けた構造である。出力が5MWを超える風力発電システムの場合、直径が120m以上、回転数が10~20rpm程度である。
 誘導加熱装置10の流通路には、誘導加熱装置10に水を供給する給水管73と、誘導加熱装置10により加熱した水を蓄熱器50に送る輸送管51が接続されている。そして、誘導加熱装置10は、回転体に設けられた磁場発生部から磁束が発生し、回転体の回転により、回転体と間隔をあけて配置された加熱部を通過する磁束が変化することで、加熱部に渦電流を発生させ、加熱部が発熱し、流通路内の水を加熱する。誘導加熱装置10は、加熱部13が磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成されているため、発熱量が高く、熱媒体である水を例えば100℃~600℃といった高温に加熱することが可能である。また、誘導加熱装置10は、加熱部(流通路)が回転しない構造であるので、流通路と輸送管51及び給水管73との接続に回転継手を用いる必要がなく、例えば溶接などを用いて、簡易な構成で、堅牢な接続を実現できる。
 この発電システムPは、誘導加熱装置10により水を発電に適した温度(例えば200℃~350℃)まで加熱し、高温高圧水を発生させる。高温高圧水は、誘導加熱装置10と蓄熱器50とを連結する輸送管51を通って蓄熱器50に送られる。蓄熱器50は、輸送管51を通って送られてきた高温高圧水の熱を蓄え、また、熱交換器を用いて発電に必要な蒸気を発電部60に供給する。なお、誘導加熱装置10により蒸気を発生させてもよい。
 蓄熱器50としては、例えば、蒸気アキュムレーターや、溶融塩や油などを用いた顕熱型、或いは、融点の高い溶融塩の相変化を利用した潜熱型の蓄熱器を利用することができる。潜熱型の蓄熱方式は蓄熱材の相変化温度で蓄熱を行うため、一般に、顕熱型の蓄熱方式に比べて蓄熱温度域が狭帯域であり、蓄熱密度が高い。
 発電部60は、蒸気タービン61と発電機62とを組み合わせた構造であり、蓄熱器50から供給された蒸気によって蒸気タービン61が回転し、発電機62を駆動して発電する。
 蓄熱器50に送られた高温高圧水又は蒸気は、復水器71で冷却され水に戻される。その後、ポンプ72に送られ、高圧水にして給水管73を通って誘導加熱装置10に送られることで循環する。
 この発電システムPによれば、再生可能エネルギー(例、風力)を動力として回転エネルギーを得て熱を発生させ、その熱を蓄熱器に蓄熱して発電することで、高価な蓄電池を用いなくても、需要に応じた安定的な発電を実現できる。また、従来の風力発電システムのように増速機を設ける必要がなく、ギアボックスのトラブルを回避することが可能である。さらに、熱媒体の熱を輸送管により例えば塔の下部(土台)に設置された発電部に供給することで、ナセルに発電部を格納する必要がなく、塔の上部に設置されるナセルを小型・軽量化することができる。
 上記した発電システムでは、熱媒体に水を用いた場合を例に説明したが、水よりも熱伝導率の高い液体金属を熱媒体に用いてもよい。このような液体金属としては、例えば液体金属ナトリウムが挙げられる。液体金属を熱媒体に用いる場合は、例えば、加熱部から熱を受け取る一次熱媒体に液体金属を用い、輸送管を通って送られてきた液体金属の熱で熱交換器を介して二次熱媒体(水)を加熱し、蒸気を発生させることが考えられる。
 また、常圧で100℃超の沸点を有する例えば油、液体金属、溶融塩などを熱媒体に用いた場合は、水に比較して、所定の温度まで加熱したときに、流通路内の熱媒体の気化による内圧上昇を抑制し易い。
 なお、本発明は、上述した実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で適宜変更することが可能である。例えば、加熱部における磁性材料部及び導体材料部の形状や形成材料、流通路の形状などを適宜変更することが可能である。
 本発明の誘導加熱装置は、再生可能エネルギーを利用した発電システムに利用する他、例えば給湯システムや暖房システムに利用することも可能である。また、本発明の発電システムは、再生可能エネルギーを利用した発電の分野に好適に利用可能である。

Claims (7)

  1.  熱媒体を加熱する誘導加熱装置であって、
     回転軸を有する回転体と、
     前記回転体と間隔をあけて配置される加熱部を有するステータ部と、を備え、
     前記回転体には、前記加熱部に対向するように、前記加熱部の方向に磁束を発生する磁束発生部が設けられており、
     前記加熱部は、磁性材料と導電材料との複合材料で形成され、磁性材料部と導電材料部とを組み合わせた構造を有し、
     前記磁束発生部が前記加熱部の対向位置にあるとき、前記加熱部における前記磁束発生部から発生する磁束の鎖交面積よりも前記磁性材料部の断面積が小さく、
     前記磁性材料部の周囲を囲むように前記導電材料部が配置されており、
     前記加熱部には、前記熱媒体が流通する流通路が設けられていることを特徴とする誘導加熱装置。
  2.  さらに、前記磁束発生部が前記加熱部の対向位置にあるとき、前記磁束発生部の磁束が鎖交する前記加熱部の領域に前記磁性材料部が複数存在することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の誘導加熱装置。
  3.  前記磁性材料部の断面形状が、円形又は多角形であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の誘導加熱装置。
  4.  前記磁束発生部から発生する磁束が、コイルによるものであることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の誘導加熱装置。
  5.  前記導電材料部がアルミニウム系材料で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の誘導加熱装置。
  6.  前記回転軸が、風車に接続され、
     前記回転体を回転させる動力に風力を利用することを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれか一項に記載の誘導加熱装置。
  7.  請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の誘導加熱装置と、
     前記誘導加熱装置により加熱した前記熱媒体の熱を電気エネルギーに変換する発電部と、を備えることを特徴とする発電システム。
