Abstract

The present invention relates to a terminal for recording and transmitting images through a network, which can record the monitored images captured by a camera upon the occurrence of risky conditions. The terminal comprises: a power-sensing unit which senses the state of the power input of a commercial power input unit; a power supply unit which supplies power to the commercial power input unit, and supplies power from a charged battery when a power input failure is detected at the power-sensing unit; and a control unit which variably sets the size of a reference region for operation sensing and a sensing level from the image inputted by a video input unit together with a sensor signal inputted from the sensor input unit, and determines the motion of an object within the reference region for operation sensing and outputs an emergency signal. The terminal records the monitored images captured by a camera upon the occurrence of risky conditions, transmits intrusion information and recorded data to a remote terminal via the Internet and a wired/wireless telephone line, and functions as an emergency battery enabling a system to operate upon the occurrence of a power outage.
