Abstract

Method to remove contamination from a roll (3), such as a raster roll, within a printing press wherein the surface of the roll (3) is cleaned with a laser beam (1) directed onto the surface of the roll (3) from a spatially movable gun (6), connected and coupled to the laser source by a flexible optical glass fibre (2), wherein the laser beam (1) is coming from a fibre laser and preferably the cleaning is carried out by exclusively photo effect.
