Abstract

The invention relates to a display device for an electric vehicle, which display device can signal or display the state of charge of the battery of an electric vehicle by means of a lighting element or illumination means. The display device projects the information about the state of charge of a battery by means of the illumination means, in particular onto a windshield of the motor vehicle or onto the ground on which the motor vehicle is located. Information about the state of charge projected onto a window of the vehicle or onto the ground outside the electric vehicle is visible from the outside, which is desirable in particular during charging when a user is at a distance from the electric vehicle. Alternatively or in addition, the display device is part of an illuminating device that is used to illuminate and/or that undertakes a display function of a different type.
