 音出力部(16)の音出力時に、音入力部(17)に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定部(23)と、上記音を遮る物体が所定距離内に存在しない場合、音入力部(17)に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測部(24)と、入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定部(26)と、入力音量が予測音量より小さい場合、所定の処理を実行する機能制御部(21)とを備える。

Description

電子機器、電子機器の制御方法、制御プログラムおよび記録媒体
 本発明は、音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器、電子機器の制御方法、制御プログラムおよび記録媒体に関するものである。
 近年、携帯電話機等のモバイル端末の設計において、デザイン性、操作性、コスト等の観点から物理的なキーを減らすことが主流となっている。また、一般的に、キー等の操作部は、初めて機器を操作する人でも簡単に使用できるように、直感的に操作させるように設計されていることが望ましい。
 例えば、携帯電話機では、携帯電話機の前面を覆うタッチパネルのディスプレイを搭載し、テンキー等の操作部を設けない携帯電話機がある。
日本国公開特許公報「特開平10-79978号公報(1998年3月24日公開)」
 しかしながら、上述のような携帯電話機は、主にデザイン性を向上させるために、テンキー等をタッチパネルで代用するものであり、本質的にキーを減らすことには至っていない。また、テンキー等をディスプレイで擬似的に表示するものであるため、従来に比べてユーザが直感的に操作できるようなものではない。
 例えば、従来の携帯電話機では、電話の着信時に、着呼に応答せずに着信音のみを消音したい場合が考えられる。操作に慣れていないユーザは、直感的に、どのキーで着信音のボリュームを下げる(消音にする)ことができるのかがわからないため、瞬時に、着信音のボリュームを下げることができない。
 特許文献1には、携帯電話機とは別体の呼出装置であって、携帯電話機のスピーカを覆う音検知部で着信を検出し、検出信号を受信して着信をユーザに報知する呼出装置が記載されている。しかしながら、特許文献1に記載の技術を用いても、着信時に音が出力されるのが携帯電話機から呼出装置に代わっただけである。結局、呼出装置の操作に不慣れなユーザは、直感的に、どのキーで着信音のボリュームを下げる(消音にする)ことができるのかがわからない。また、特許文献1に記載の技術は、物理的なキー等の操作部を減らすものではない。
 本発明は、上記の問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、物理的なキー等の操作部が少ない電子機器、電子機器の制御方法、制御プログラムおよび記録媒体を実現することにある。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記課題を解決するために、音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器であって、上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定手段と、上記音出力部から出力されて上記音入力部で集音される音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測手段と、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定手段と、上記音量判定手段が上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定した場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御手段とを備えることを特徴としている。
 本発明に係る電子機器の制御方法は、上記課題を解決するために、音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器の制御方法であって、上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定ステップと、上記音出力部から出力されて上記音入力部で集音される音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測ステップと、上記入力音量測定ステップにおいて測定された入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測ステップにおいて予測された予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定ステップと、上記音量判定ステップにおいて上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定された場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御ステップとを含むことを特徴としている。
 上記の構成によれば、上記帰還音量予測手段は、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に伝播する経路上で当該音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する。よって、上記入力音量測定手段の測定時に上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない基準状態では、上記入力音量と上記予測音量とが略同じ値になる。一方、上記入力音量測定手段の測定時に上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在する状態では、上記音入力部に入力される音が減衰するため、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さくなる。
 そこで、上記音量判定手段は、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定することにより、結果的に、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在する状態か、所定距離内に存在しない基準状態かを判定することができる。よって、上記機器機能制御手段は、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在する状態になると、所定の第1の処理を実行することができる。
 例えば、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在する状態として、上記音出力部または上記音入力部をユーザが指等で押さえた場合等が考えられる。この場合、上記機器機能制御手段は、ユーザが指等で上記音出力部または上記音入力部を塞ぐと、所定の第1の処理を実行する。
 よって、音出力部および音入力部をユーザの入力を取得する操作部として利用することができる。従って、電子機器の物理的な操作部を減らすことができるという効果を奏する。
 また、例えば、電子機器として携帯電話機である場合において、着信時に、上記音量判定手段が上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定すると、上記機器機能制御手段が着信音の音量を小さくするように規定したとする。この場合、着信時に、ユーザが着信音を消音したいと考え、周囲に音が漏れないように音出力部を指で押さえることにより、音出力部から出力される着信音の音量を小さくすることができる。
 このように、音出力部を押さえたときに、電子機器が出力音の音量を小さくすることによって、ユーザが操作部である音出力部を直感的に操作することができる。
 なお、上記電子機器は、コンピュータによって実現してもよく、この場合には、コンピュータを上記電子機器の各手段として動作させることにより、上記電子機器をコンピュータにて実現させる制御プログラム、及びそれを記録したコンピュータ読み取り可能な記録媒体も本発明の範疇に入る。
 以上のように、本発明に係る電子機器は、上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定手段と、上記音出力部と上記音入力部との間に、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体がない基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測手段と、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定手段と、上記音量判定手段が上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定した場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御手段とを備えている構成である。
 また、本発明に係る電子機器の制御方法は、上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定ステップと、上記音出力部と上記音入力部との間に、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体がない基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測ステップと、上記入力音量測定ステップにおいて測定された入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測ステップにおいて予測された予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定ステップと、上記音量判定ステップにおいて上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定された場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御ステップとを含む。
 よって、音出力部および音入力部をユーザの入力を取得する操作部として利用することができる。従って、電子機器の物理的な操作部を減らすことができるという効果を奏する。

<本発明の概要>
 上述のように、携帯電話機の操作に不慣れなユーザは、どのキーで着信音のボリュームを下げる(消音にする)ことができるのかがわからない。そのため、ユーザが着信時に周囲に音が響かないようにするために、スピーカを覆うように指で押さえることが考えられる。本発明者らは、このように、スピーカを指等で押さえることにより、実際に、スピーカからの音の出力が停止されるように制御できれば、ユーザにとって直感的に操作ができると考えた。さらに、スピーカから出力される音をマイクで集音する。スピーカが指等で押さえられている時の出力音と、スピーカが指等で押さえられていない時の出力音とを判別する。これによって、新たなセンサやキー等を設けることなく、スピーカが押さえられていることを検知することができると考えた。
 すなわち、本発明は、スピーカおよびマイクを備える携帯電話機において、スピーカ、マイクの少なくともどちらかを、携帯電話機のスイッチとして機能させるものである。
 なお、本発明において、携帯電話機は一例であり、音出力部(スピーカ)および音入力部(マイク)を備える電子機器であれば何でもよい。例えば、電子機器として、テレビ、オーディオ機器、携帯音楽再生機、ボイスレコーダー、携帯ゲーム機、据置型ゲーム機、PC等でもよい。
<第1の実施形態>
 本発明の第1の実施形態について図1から図8に基づいて説明すると以下の通りである。
 〔携帯電話機の外観〕
 図2は、携帯電話機1の外観の一例を示す図である。図2の(a)は、タッチパネルである表示部13を搭載した携帯電話機1の外観の一例を示す図であり、図2の(b)は、表示部13と操作部14とが別体となって搭載されている携帯電話機1の外観の一例を示す図である。図2の(a)および(b)共に、携帯電話機1を正面から見た外観を示す図である。
 図2の(a)に示す例では、携帯電話機1の前面に、表示部13、音出力部16および音入力部17が配置されている。また、図2の(b)に示す例では、携帯電話機1の前面に、表示部13、操作部14、音出力部16および音入力部17が配置されている。なお、携帯電話機1が備える各部材の配置は、図2に示す例に限らず任意でよく、適宜設計すればよい。
 また、図2の(a)および(b)に示す例では、携帯電話機1が音出力部16および音入力部17をそれぞれ1つずつ備えているが、これに限るものではない。例えば、携帯電話機1が、音出力部16および音入力部17をそれぞれ複数備えていてもよい。本発明では、携帯電話機1が、少なくとも1つの音出力部16と、少なくとも1つ音入力部17とを備えていればよい。
 〔携帯電話機の構成〕
 図1は、携帯電話機1の要部構成を示すブロック図である。図1に示すように、携帯電話機1は、制御部11、記憶部12、表示部13、操作部14、通信部15、音出力部16および音入力部17を備えている。
 表示部13は、制御部11の指示に従って画像を表示するものである。表示部13は、制御部11の指示に従って画像を表示するものであればよく、例えば、LCD(液晶ディスプレイ)、有機ELディスプレイ、プラズマディスプレイなどを適用することが可能である。
 操作部14は、ユーザが携帯電話機1に指示信号を入力し、操作するためのものである。操作部14は、オンフックキー、オフフックキー、ファンクションキー、十字キー、テンキー等で構成されているものであってもよい。また、図2の(a)に示す携帯電話機1のように、操作部14と表示部13とが一体となっているタッチパネルであってもよい。
 通信部15は、無線通信手段または有線通信手段によって、他の装置と通信を行い、制御部11の指示に従って、データのやりとりを行うものである。
 音出力部16は、制御部11から電気信号を受信し、受信した電気信号を音に変換し、携帯電話機1の外部に音を出力するものである。音出力部16は、いわゆるスピーカである。
 音入力部17は、携帯電話機1の周囲の音を集音して、集音した音を電気信号に変換して制御部11に出力するものである。音入力部17は、いわゆるマイクである。
 制御部11は、記憶部12から一時記憶部(不図示)に読み出されたプログラムを実行することにより、各種の演算を行うと共に、携帯電話機1が備える各部を統括的に制御するものである。
 本実施形態では、制御部11は、機能ブロックとして、機能制御部(機器機能制御手段)21、入力音量測定部(入力音量測定手段)23、帰還音量予測部(帰還音量予測手段)24、状態判定部(状態判定手段)25および音量判定部(音量判定手段)26を備える構成である。さらに、機能制御部21は、出力音制御部22を備える。これらの制御部11の各機能ブロック(21~26)は、CPU(central processing unit)が、ROM(read only memory)等で実現された記憶装置に記憶されているプログラムをRAM(random access memory)等で実現された一時記憶部に読み出して実行することで実現できる。
 機能制御部21は、携帯電話機1が備える機能を制御するものである。例えば、機能制御部21は、電源ON/OFF、通話、メール、Web閲覧、他のアプリケーション実行等の処理を制御する。また、機能制御部21は、操作部14から入力されるユーザの指示に基づいて、各種処理を実行するものである。また、機能制御部21は、処理に応じて、表示部13に画像を表示するものである。また、機能制御部21は、例えば通話時に、音入力部17から電気信号を受信して、受信した電気信号を通信部15を介して他の装置に送信するものである。
 また、機能制御部21は、音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能のON/OFFを切り替える。なお、機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を切り替えるトリガーは、特に限定するものではない。例えば、機能制御部21は、操作部14から入力されるユーザの指示に基づいて、スイッチ機能のON/OFFを切り替えてもよい。また、機能制御部21は、所定のアプリケーションの起動時に、スイッチ機能のON/OFFを切り替えてもよいし、所定のアプリケーションにおける所定の処理の実行時に、スイッチ機能のON/OFFを切り替えてもよい。具体例として、機能制御部21は、通話機能における着信処理開始時に、スイッチ機能を起動させ、着信処理終了時に、スイッチ機能を停止させてもよい。また、機能制御部21は、後述の出力音制御部22が音出力部16から音の出力を開始させると共に、スイッチ機能を起動させ、出力音制御部22が音出力部16から音の出力を停止させると共に、スイッチ機能を停止させてもよい。
 機能制御部21は、出力音制御部22を備えており、機能制御部21が実行する処理のうち、音出力部16から音を出力させる等の音の出力に関する処理は出力音制御部22が実行するものとする。なお、機能制御部21は、音出力以外の各機能(通話、メール等)を実行する機能ブロックを備えているが、本発明の特徴には関係がないため、ここでは図示しない。
 出力音制御部22は、出力する音の音量および周波数を決定し、決定した音量および周波数に基づいて音波(波形)を生成し、生成した音波を電気信号として音出力部16に出力する。出力音制御部22は、例えば着信時に、記憶部12に格納されている設定値を読み出し、読み出した設定値に基づいて、着信音の音量および周波数を決定する。
 また、出力音制御部22は、決定した出力する音の音量を示す決定出力音量値を帰還音量予測部24に出力する。また、出力音制御部22は、決定した出力する音の周波数を示す出力音周波数を入力音量測定部23に出力してもよい。
 入力音量測定部23は、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定するものである。入力音量測定部23は、測定した音量(入力音量)を示す入力音量値を音量判定部26に出力する。また、入力音量測定部23は、測定した音量を示す入力音量値を状態判定部25に出力してもよい。また、入力音量測定部23は、出力音制御部22から出力音周波数を受信した場合、音入力部17が集音した音のうち、受信した出力音周波数の示す周波数と同じ周波数成分の音の大きさ(音量)を測定してもよい。
 帰還音量予測部24は、出力音制御部22から決定出力音量値を受信する。そして、帰還音量予測部24は、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態における、音出力部16から出力された音が音入力部17で集音されると考えられる音(帰還音)の音量(帰還音量)を、決定出力音量値に基づいて予測するものである。帰還音量予測部24が予測した帰還音量を予測音量と称する。帰還音量予測部24は、予測した予測音量を示す予測音量値を音量判定部26に出力する。また、帰還音量予測部24は、予測した予測音量を示す予測音量値を状態判定部25に出力してもよい。
 上記の「音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態」とは、音出力部16から出力されて音入力部17で集音される音を遮る物体が音出力部16または音入力部17の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である。また、上記物体とは、音出力部16を覆う物体、音入力部17を覆う物体、および音出力部16と音入力部17との間に存在する物体等である。
 また、上記の「音出力部16から出力された音が音入力部17で集音されると考えられる音」とは、音出力部16から出力された音が、携帯電話機1の筐体外部の空気中を伝播して、音入力部17に帰還して集音される音である。一般的に、音出力部16および音入力部17を備える電子機器では、音出力部16から出力された音が、電子機器の筐体または筐体内部の部材を伝播して音入力部17に音が入力されないように設計されている。
 ここで、空気中に携帯電話機1のみが存在する理想的な状態(携帯電話機1以外に物体が存在しない状態)において、音出力部16から出力された音が音入力部17で集音される音の音量を理想帰還音量とする。
 また、上記の「所定距離」とは、音出力部16または音入力部17と物体との間の距離を示す。上記の「所定距離」外において、音出力部16または音入力部17の周囲に上記物体が存在した場合であっても、音出力部16から出力された音が音入力部17で集音される音の音量が上記理想帰還音量と実質的に差がないと考えられる。
 また、上記の「実質的に差がない」とは、当該差が、音出力部16および/または音入力部17が塞がれている場合に測定された入力音量と上記理想帰還音量との差に比べて、非常に小さいことを意味する。
 帰還音量予測部24が帰還音量を予測するために、事前に、音出力部16および音入力部17の基準状態における、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の帰還音量を測定する。そして、帰還音量の測定結果に基づいて、決定出力音量値から予測音量値に変換する計算式、または、決定出力音量値と予測音量値とを対応付けた対応表等を予め作成する。これにより、帰還音量予測部24は、予め作成した上記計算式または上記対応表等を利用して、受信した決定出力音量値から予測音量を導出する。
 なお、上記計算式または上記対応表等を作成する場合、予測音量を精度よく予測するために、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態であって、携帯電話機1が空気中に静止され、周囲に他の音源等がない状態で行うことが望ましい。
 状態判定部25は、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあるか否かを判定するものである。換言すると、状態判定部25は、音量判定部26が正常に判定可能な状態にあるか否かを判定するものである。状態判定部25は、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定した場合、その状態判定結果を音量判定部26に通知する。また、状態判定部25は、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定した場合、および、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にないと判定した場合、それぞれ、その状態判定結果を機能制御部21に通知する。
 具体的には、状態判定部25は、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量と、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量とが一致しているか否かを判定する。状態判定部25は、入力音量と予測音量とが一致している場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定し、入力音量と予測音量とが一致していない場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではないと判定する。
 ここで、状態判定部25は、入力音量と予測音量とが厳密に一致していなくても、入力音量と予測音量との差分が所定範囲内にある場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定してもよい。例えば、音入力部17が雑音を拾ってしまった場合、入力音量と予測音量とが完全に一致しないが、雑音の大きさが入力音量に対して小さいのであれば、雑音を無視して、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定しても問題がない。そのため、入力音量と予測音量とが厳密に一致していなくても、入力音量と予測音量との差分が所定範囲内にある場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあるとみなす。上記所定範囲は、雑音および入力音量測定部23の測定誤差等を許容できる範囲であればよい。
 また、状態判定部25は、スイッチ機能が起動されてから、もしくは、出力音制御部22が音出力部16に音の出力を開始させてから、所定時間経過したか否かを判定する。状態判定部25は、所定時間経過した場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にあると判定し、所定時間経過していない場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではないと判定する。
 すなわち、状態判定部25は、携帯電話機1がスイッチ機能を正常に動作可能な状態であるか否かを判定するものである。
 機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信した場合、機能制御部21の実行中の処理および上記状態判定結果に基づいて、予め定められた動作(第2の処理)を実行する。例えば、機能制御部21は、着信処理実行中に、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信した場合、着信音の音量を上げるように出力音制御部22を制御してもよい。また、着信時にバイブレーションが動作しないように設定されている場合、機能制御部21は、着信処理実行中に、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、バイブレーションを動作させてもよい。また、機能制御部21は、ゲーム等のアプリケーションの処理実行中に、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信した場合、音出力部16および/または音入力部17を用いたスイッチ機能が正常に動作しない旨(エラー通知)を表示部13に表示して、ユーザに通知してもよい。
 機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態であることを示す状態判定結果を受信した場合、状態判定部25が状態判定処理を行う前の状態に戻す。具体的には、機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信して着信音の音量を上げるように出力音制御部22を制御する。そして、機能制御部21は、基準状態であることを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、着信音の音量を決定出力音量値まで下げるように出力音制御部22を制御する。また、機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信してバイブレーションを動作した場合、基準状態であることを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、バイブレーションの動作を停止させる。また、機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から基準状態にないことを示す状態判定結果を受信してエラー通知を表示した場合、基準状態であることを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、表示部13にエラー通知を表示させるのを終了する。
 音量判定部26は、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量が、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より小さいか否かを判定するものである。音量判定部26は、音量判定結果を機能制御部21に通知する。
 また、音量判定部26は、状態判定部25から状態判定結果が通知される場合、状態判定結果が音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態であることを示す場合にのみ、入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する。
 また、音量判定部26は、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量が、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より所定値以上小さいか否かを判定してもよい。ユーザが音出力部16または音入力部17を塞ごうとしてやめたときなどが考えられる。よって、例えば、ユーザが意図せず(または一時的に)音出力部16または音入力部17の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在する状態になったときは、スイッチ機能を動作させないことが好ましい。そのため、音量判定部26が、入力音量が予測音量より所定値以上小さいか否かを判定することにより、一時的に(ユーザが意図せず)音出力部16または音入力部17を塞ぐ場合におけるスイッチ機能の誤動作を軽減することができる。この場合、測定誤差等で一時的に、入力音量が予測音量より小さくなった場合であっても、スイッチ機能の誤動作を防ぐことができる。
 機能制御部21は、スイッチ機能の起動中、音量判定部26から音量判定結果を受信する。そして、機能制御部21は、入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合、機能制御部21の実行中の処理および上記音量判定結果に基づいて、予め定められた動作(第1の処理)を実行する。例えば、機能制御部21は、着信処理実行中に、入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合、着信音の音量を下げるように出力音制御部22を制御してもよい。また、機能制御部21は、着信処理実行中に、入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合、着信音の出力を停止するように出力音制御部22を制御すると共に、着信処理から留守番電話処理に移行してもよい。なお、機能制御部21は、入力音量が予測音量より小さくないことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合、音量判定結果に基づいて特定の処理は行わない。
 記憶部12は、制御部11が参照するプログラムやデータ等を格納するものである。記憶部12には、例えば、機能制御部21が実行中の処理および音量判定結果に基づいて実行する動作を規定するスイッチ機能動作テーブルが格納されている。また、記憶部12には、例えば、機能制御部21が実行中の処理および状態判定結果に基づいて実行する動作を規定する異常時動作テーブルが格納されている。
 記憶部12に格納されているスイッチ機能動作テーブルおよび異常時動作テーブルについてそれぞれ図3,4に基づいて説明する。図3は、記憶部12に格納されているスイッチ機能動作テーブルの一例を示す図である。また、図4は、記憶部12に格納されている異常時動作テーブルの一例を示す図である。
 図3に示すように、スイッチ機能動作テーブルは、スイッチ機能起動中に機能制御部21が実行している処理と、音量判定部26が入力音量が予測音量より小さいと判定した場合に機能制御部21が実行する第1の処理とが対応付けられたものである。機能制御部21は、音量判定部26から入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信すると、記憶部12からスイッチ機能動作テーブルを読み出して、スイッチ機能動作テーブルにおいて現在実行中の処理に対応付けられている処理を実行する。例えば、図3に示す例では、機能制御部21は、着信処理時に、音量判定部26から入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信すると、出力音制御部22に対して、音出力部16からの出力音の音量を下げるように指示する。
 また、図4に示すように、異常時動作テーブルは、スイッチ機能起動中に機能制御部21が実行している処理と、状態判定部25が音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではないと判定した場合に機能制御部21が実行する第2の処理とが対応付けられたものである。機能制御部21は、状態判定部25から音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではないことを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、記憶部12から異常時動作テーブルを読み出して、異常時動作テーブルにおいて現在実行中の処理に対応付けられている処理を実行する。例えば、図4に示す例では、機能制御部21は、着信処理時に、状態判定部25から音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではないことを示す状態判定結果を受信すると、出力音制御部22に対して、音出力部16からの出力音の音量を上げるように指示する。
 〔携帯電話機の状態〕
 次に、携帯電話機の各種状態について図5に基づいて説明する。図5は、携帯電話機の各種状態を模式的に示す図である。図5の(a)は、携帯電話機1の音出力部16および音入力部17の基準状態を示す図であり、図5の(b)は、音出力部16が遮蔽物31で覆われている状態を示す図であり、図5の(c)は、音出力部16以外の他の音源32が携帯電話機1の周囲に存在する状態を示す図である。なお、本実施形態では、音出力部16を塞ぐ遮蔽物31として、例えば、ユーザの指、手のひら等を想定している。
 図5の(a)に示すように、音出力部16および音入力部17の基準状態にある場合、音出力部16から出力された音は、空気中を伝播して音入力部17に帰還して集音される。このとき、音入力部17では、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量と略同じ音量の音が集音される。
 図5の(b)に示すように、音出力部16(の開口部)が遮蔽物31で覆われている場合、音出力部16から出力された音は、空気中を伝播しないため、音入力部17で音出力部16から出力された音が集音されない。このとき、音入力部17では、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より小さい音量の音が集音される。
 すなわち、音出力部16から音が出力されているときに、音入力部17に入力された音の音量が予測音量より小さいか否かの判定に基づいて、音出力部16が何らかの物体(遮蔽物31)で覆われているか否かを検知することができる。
 上述のように、機能制御部21が、入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合に予め定められた動作を実行する。そのため、ユーザは、音出力部16を指等で押さえることによって、携帯電話機1に所定の動作を実行させることができる。換言すると、音出力部16に操作部の機能を持たせることができる。
 当然ながら、音出力部16(の開口部)を塞ぐ代わりに、音入力部17(の開口部)を塞いだ場合であっても、同様に、音入力部17では、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より小さい音量の音が集音される。そのため、携帯電話機1は、入力音量が予測音量より小さい場合、音出力部16および音入力部17の少なくともどちらか一方(の開口部)が何らかの物体で塞がれていると判断することができる。
 また、図5の(c)に示すように、携帯電話機1の近辺に他の音源32がある場合、音出力部16から出力された音は、空気中を伝播して音入力部17にて集音されるが、それと同時に、音入力部17は、他の音源32から出力された音も集音する。そのため、音入力部17では、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より大きい音量の音が集音される。
 このとき、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で覆われた場合であっても、音入力部17では、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量より小さい音量の音が集音されない場合がある。つまり、音出力部16または音入力部17が押さえられたとしても、音入力部17が他の音源32から出力される音を集音することにより、音入力部17が集音する音が予測音量より大きくなることが考えられる。
 そのため、図5の(c)に示すように、携帯電話機1の近辺に他の音源32がある場合、携帯電話機1は、音出力部16および音入力部17の少なくともどちらか一方が何らかの物体で覆われているか否かを正確に判断することができない場合がある。
 また、例えば、携帯電話機1が音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能を起動させた時点で、ユーザが意図せず音出力部16または音入力部17を押さえている場合、ユーザが意図していないにもかかわらず、携帯電話機1は所定の動作を実行してしまう。
 そこで、上述のように、音量判定部26が判定する前に、状態判定部25が入力音量と予測音量とが一致しているか否かを判定することにより、携帯電話機1は、図5の(a)の状態にあるのか否かを判断することができる。携帯電話機1が図5の(a)の状態にあると判断してから、音量判定部26が入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを判定することにより、携帯電話機1における、音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能を正確に動作させることができる。
 〔音出力部および音入力部のスイッチ機能の処理〕
 次に、携帯電話機1における音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能の処理について図6~8に基づいて説明する。図6~8は、携帯電話機1における音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能の処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。
  (スイッチ機能の処理例1)
 まず、図6に基づいて、携帯電話機1における音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能の処理の基本的な処理例を説明する。
 図6に示すように、機能制御部21が音出力部16および音入力部17のスイッチ機能をONにする(S1)。機能制御部21は、スイッチ機能を起動した後、音入力部17を起動する(S2)。また、機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を起動すると、出力音制御部22が、音出力部16から出力させる音の音量を決定する(S3)。
 帰還音量予測部24は、出力音制御部22から決定出力音量値を受信して、音出力部16から出力された音が音入力部17に入力されると想定される音の予測音量を決定出力音量値に基づいて予測する(S4)。そして、出力音制御部22は、決定した音量に基づいて音波(波形)を生成し、生成した音波を電気信号として音出力部16に出力して、音出力部16に音を出力させる(S5)。
 次に、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S6)。音量判定部26が、入力音量測定部23から入力音量を受信し、帰還音量予測部24から予測音量を受信し、入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する(S7)。そして、音量判定部26は、入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを示す音量判定結果を機能制御部21に送信する。
 機能制御部21は、入力音量が予測音量より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合(S7でYES)、記憶部12からスイッチ機能動作テーブルを読み出して、スイッチ機能動作テーブルに基づいて決定される所定の動作を実行する(S8)。一方、機能制御部21は、入力音量が予測音量より小さくないことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合(S7でNO)、音量判定結果に基づく処理は行わず、S9に進む。
 出力音制御部22が、音出力部16の音出力の停止指示を受信したか否かを判定する(S9)。出力音制御部22が、音出力部16の音出力の停止指示を受信していない場合(S9でNO)、S6に戻り、再度、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S6)。
 一方、出力音制御部22が、音出力部16の音出力の停止指示を受信した場合(S9でYES)、出力音制御部22は、音出力部16からの音出力を停止させる(S10)。そして、機能制御部21は、音入力部17を停止させると共に、スイッチ機能を停止させる(S11)。
  (スイッチ機能の処理例2)
 次に、図7に基づいて、携帯電話機1が基準状態を確認した後に、音量判定を実行するスイッチ機能の処理の一例を説明する。図7に示すスイッチ機能の処理例は、図6に示すスイッチ機能の処理例と異なり、S5とS6との間に、携帯電話機1の状態を判定する処理を含む。そのため、ここでは、図7に示すスイッチ機能の処理例において、図6に示すスイッチ機能の処理例と異なる処理について主に説明する。
 図7に示すスイッチ機能の処理例では、携帯電話機1が着信を受けたことによって、機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を起動させるものとする。そして、音量判定部26は、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態であることを確認してから、音量判定処理を行うものとする。
 具体的には、図7に示すように、図6に示すスイッチ機能の処理例と同様に、S1~S5の処理を行う。S5の処理の後、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S21)。
 次に、状態判定部25は、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量と、帰還音量予測部24が予測した予測音量とが一致しているか否かを判定する(S22)。状態判定部25が入力音量と予測音量とが一致していないと判定した場合(S22でNO)、機能制御部21の出力音制御部22が音出力部16から出力させている音の音量を上げる(S23)。具体的には、出力音制御部22は、S3で決定した音量(決定出力音量値)より大きな音量で音出力部16に音を出力させる。
 一方、状態判定部25は、入力音量と予測音量とが一致している(すなわち、基準状態にある)と判定した場合(S22でYES)、その旨を音量判定部26に通知する。また、このとき、機能制御部21の出力音制御部22は、音出力部16から出力させる音の音量を決定出力音量値(すなわち、S3で決定した音量値)にする(S24)。
 そして、以下、図6に示すスイッチ機能の処理例と同様に、S6~S11の処理を行う。
 このように、音量判定部26が音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態であることを確認してから音量判定処理を行う。これによって、スイッチ機能が起動時に、ユーザが意図せず音出力部16または音入力部17を押さえていたこと等による誤動作を防ぐことができる。
 ここで、スイッチ機能が起動時に、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態ではない場合、着信開始時に、ユーザが携帯電話機1をカバンやポケット等に入れており、着信音が鳴っていることに気付いていない場合が考えられる。このとき、S23において、出力音制御部22が音出力部16から出力させている音の音量を上げることにより、スイッチ機能の誤動作を防ぐだけではなく、着信があることをユーザにより確実に通知することができる。
 このように、ユーザにより確実に通知するために、着信音の音量を上げた場合、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態になると、着信音の音量はユーザが予め設定した音量に戻すことが好ましい。そこで、S24において、状態判定部25が基準状態にあると判定した後に、出力音制御部22が音出力部16から出力させる音の音量を決定出力音量値にする。
 なお、S9にて、出力音制御部22が、音出力部16の音出力の停止指示を受信していない場合(S9でNO)、S6に戻るのではなく、S21に戻ってもよい。このようにすることによって、常に、携帯電話機1が基準状態にあるときに、音量判定部26が実行することができる。
  (スイッチ機能の処理例3)
 次に、図8に基づいて、携帯電話機1が基準状態を確認した後に、音量判定を実行するスイッチ機能の処理の別の一例を説明する。図8は、スイッチ機能を起動させてから所定時間経過したことによって、携帯電話機1が基準状態であると判断する場合の処理例を示す。
 図8に示すように、図8に示すスイッチ機能の処理例は、図6に示すスイッチ機能の処理例と異なり、S5とS6との間に、所定時間経過するのを待つ処理を含む。具体的には、状態判定部25は、出力音制御部22が音出力部16に音の出力を開始させてから(S5)、所定時間経過したか否かを判定する(S31)。そして、状態判定部25は、所定時間経過したと判定した場合、入力音量測定部23が音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S6)。
 なお、図8に示すS1~S5の処理は、図6に示すS1~S5の処理と同じ処理であり、図8に示すS6~S11の処理は、図6に示すS6~S11の処理と同じ処理である。
 〔変形例〕
 本実施形態では、音量判定部26が入力音量が予測音量より小さいか否かを判定することにより、ユーザが音出力部16または音入力部17を押さえたかどうかを判断しているが、これに限るものではない。
 例えば、音量判定部26は、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形(入力音量の時間的な変化)が、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている閉塞状態における帰還音の波形と一致するか否かを判定してもよい。この場合、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形が、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている状態における帰還音の波形と一致すると音量判定部26が判定した場合、機能制御部21が第1の処理を実行する。
 すなわち、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形が、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている閉塞状態における帰還音の波形と一致するか否かを音量判定部26が判定する。これにより、ユーザが音出力部16または音入力部17を押さえたかどうかを判断してもよい。なお、この場合、両者の波形が一致する場合に、ユーザが音出力部16または音入力部17を押さえたと判断する。
 この場合、予め、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている閉塞状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形(帰還音量の時間的な変化)を測定する。そして、帰還音量の測定結果に基づいて、音出力部16または音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている状態における帰還音の波形(閉塞状態波形)を決定し、その閉塞状態波形を記憶部12に格納しておく。
 音量判定部26は、記憶部12から閉塞状態波形を読み出し、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形が、閉塞状態波形と一致するか否かを判定する。
 また、予め、音出力部16が何らかの物体で塞がれている出力閉塞状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形である出力閉塞状態波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。また、予め、音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれている入力閉塞状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形である入力閉塞状態波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。また、予め、音出力部16および音入力部17が何らかの物体で塞がれる。すなわち、入出力閉塞状態にさせる。当該入出力閉塞状態おいて、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形である入出力閉塞状態波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。
 このように、記憶部12に、出力閉塞状態波形、入力閉塞状態波形および入出力閉塞状態波形が格納されている。この場合、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形が、出力閉塞状態波形、入力閉塞状態波形または入出力閉塞状態波形のいずれの波形と一致するかを音量判定部26が判定する。上記判定結果によって、音出力部16および音入力部17の両方、または何れか一方が塞がれているか否かを判断することができる。
 さらに、音出力部16および音入力部17が基準状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形である基準状態波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。
 このように、記憶部12に、基準状態波形が格納されている場合、入力音量測定部23の測定した入力音の波形が、閉塞状態波形または基準状態波形のいずれの波形と一致するかを音量判定部26が判定する。これにより、閉塞状態であるか、基準状態であるか、それとも、それ以外の状態であるかを判断することができる。
 また、例えば、基準状態、閉塞状態、基準状態、閉塞状態、基準状態と遷移している状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。この場合、ユーザが所定間隔で複数回、音出力部16または音入力部17を塞いだかどうかを判断することができる。
 また、例えば、基準状態、出力閉塞状態、基準状態、入力閉塞状態、基準状態と遷移している状態において、音出力部16から所定の音量の音を出力した際の、音入力部17に帰還して集音された帰還音の波形を記憶部12に格納しておいてもよい。この場合、ユーザが音出力部16または音入力部17を特定の順番で塞いだかどうかを判断することができる。
 このように、記憶部12に各状態を特定の順番で遷移したときの波形や各状態を特定の回数、タイミングで遷移したときの波形を格納しておく。これによって、音出力部16および音入力部17が塞がれた順番や、音出力部16および音入力部17を塞ぐ回数、タイミングを判断することができる。
<第2の実施形態>
 本発明の第2の実施形態について図9および図10に基づいて説明すると以下の通りである。第2の実施形態は、第1の実施形態と異なり、携帯電話機1の音入力部17だけでスイッチ機能を実現するものである。具体的には、第2の実施形態では、音入力部17を起動させて、携帯電話機1の周囲の雑音を集音し、音入力部17を指等で覆っているか否かを、音入力部17に入力される音の大きさの変化に基づいて判断する。以下では、主に、第2の実施形態において、第1の実施形態と異なる点について説明する。なお、説明の便宜上、上記の第1の実施形態において示した部材と同一の機能を有する部材には、同一の符号を付し、その説明を省略する。
 〔携帯電話機の構成〕
 図9は、携帯電話機40の要部構成を示すブロック図である。図9に示すように、携帯電話機40は、制御部41、記憶部12、表示部13、操作部14、通信部15および音入力部17を備えている。なお、第2の実施形態に係る携帯電話機40も、音出力部16を備えていてもよいが、上述のように、本実施形態は、音入力部17だけでスイッチ機能を実現するものであるため、ここでは図示しない。
 制御部41は、記憶部12から一時記憶部(不図示)に読み出されたプログラムを実行することにより、各種の演算を行うと共に、携帯電話機40が備える各部を統括的に制御するものである。
 本実施形態では、制御部41は、機能ブロックとして、機能制御部21、入力音量測定部23、有音判定部27、通常入力音量決定部28および音量判定部29を備える構成である。これらの制御部41の各機能ブロック(21、23、27~29)は、CPUが、ROM等で実現された記憶装置に記憶されているプログラムをRAM等で実現された一時記憶部に読み出して実行することで実現できる。
 なお、機能制御部21は、携帯電話機1が備える機能を制御するものであり、第1の実施形態と同様に、出力音制御部22を備えていてよいが、本実施形態の特徴には関係がないため、ここでは図示しない。
 入力音量測定部23は、第1の実施形態と同様に、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定するものである。入力音量測定部23は、測定した音量(入力音量)を示す入力音量値を有音判定部27、通常入力音量決定部28および音量判定部29に出力する。
 有音判定部27は、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量を示す入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であるか否かを判定するものである。有音判定部27は、入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であると判定した場合、その有音判定結果を通常入力音量決定部28に通知する。また、有音判定部27は、入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内ではないと判定した場合、その有音判定結果を機能制御部21に通知する。
 上記有効範囲とは、所定の下限値および所定の上限値で定められる範囲である。つまり、有音判定部27は、音入力部17が所定の音量の音を集音しているか否かを判定するものである。音入力部17がある程度の音量の音を集音している場合、音入力部17が押さえられると、音入力部17に入力される音の音量が急に下がるため、音入力部17に入力される音の音量の変化に基づいて、音入力部17が押さえられたかどうかを判断することができる。
 しかしながら、音入力部17が集音している音が非常に小さな音量の場合、音入力部17が押さえられても、音入力部17に入力される音の音量がほとんど変化しないため、音入力部17が押さえられたかどうかを判断することができない。
 また、音入力部17が集音している音が非常に大きな音量の場合、その後も常に同程度の大きな音量の音が携帯電話機40の周囲で発生し続けることは考えにくい。音入力部17が集音する音の音量が極端に変化する場合、その変化が音入力部17を押さえたことに因るものか否かを判別することができない。そのため、音入力部17が非常に大きな音を集音している場合も、音入力部17のスイッチ機能を動作させる状況としては適していない。
 よって、有音判定部27が入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であるか否かを判定することによって、携帯電話機40の現在の状態が、音入力部17のスイッチ機能を正確に動作させることができる状態かを判断することができる。
 通常入力音量決定部28は、有音判定部27から入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であることを示す有音判定結果を受信すると、有音判定部27が判定に用いた入力音量値が測定された時点を含む所定期間内に、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量値に基づいて、通常入力音量値を決定するものである。通常入力音量決定部28は、決定した通常入力音量値を音量判定部29に出力する。
 ここで、通常入力音量値とは、上記所定期間内に、携帯電話機40の周囲で発生している雑音の基準値を示すものである。通常入力音量決定部28は、例えば、上記所定期間内に入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量値を平均した値を通常入力音量値としてもよい。また、通常入力音量決定部28は、例えば、上記所定期間内に入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量値の中央値を通常入力音量値としてもよい。また、通常入力音量決定部28は、例えば、上記所定期間内に入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量値の下限値を通常入力音量値としてもよい。また、通常入力音量決定部28は、例えば、上記所定の有効範囲の下限値を通常入力音量値としてもよい。
 音量判定部29は、入力音量測定部23から現在の入力音量値を受信し、通常入力音量決定部28から通常入力音量値を受信し、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さいか否かを判定するものである。音量判定部29は、音量判定結果を機能制御部21に通知する。
 また、音量判定部29は、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より所定値以上小さいか否かを判定してもよい。携帯電話機40の周囲で発生している雑音の音量は変動するため、音入力部17を塞いでいなくとも、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さくなることが考えられる。この場合、ユーザが意図しないものであるため、スイッチ機能を動作させないことが好ましい。よって、音量判定部29が、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より所定値以上小さいか否かを判定することにより、スイッチ機能の誤動作を軽減することができる。この場合、測定誤差等で一時的に、入力音量が通常入力音量値より小さくなった場合であっても、スイッチ機能の誤動作を防ぐことができる。
 機能制御部21は、音量判定部29から、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信すると、機能制御部21の実行中の処理および上記音量判定結果に基づいて、予め定められた動作を実行する。
 また、機能制御部21は、有音判定部27から、入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内ではないことを示す有音判定結果を受信すると、現在有効範囲外である旨を表示部13に表示する。
 〔音入力部のスイッチ機能の処理〕
 次に、携帯電話機40における音入力部17のスイッチ機能の処理について図10に基づいて説明する。図10は、携帯電話機40における音入力部17のスイッチ機能の処理の一例を示すフローチャートである。
 図10に示すように、機能制御部21が音入力部17のスイッチ機能をONにする(S41)。機能制御部21は、スイッチ機能を起動した後、音入力部17を起動する(S42)。
 音入力部17を起動した後、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S43)。そして、有音判定部27が、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量を示す入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であるか否かを判定する(S44)。
 有音判定部27が入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内ではないと判定した場合(S43でNO)、機能制御部21は、現在有効範囲外である旨を表示部13に表示する(S45)。そして、S43に戻る。一方、有音判定部27が入力音量値が所定の有効範囲内であると判定した場合(S43でYES)、通常入力音量決定部28が、有音判定部27が判定に用いた入力音量値が測定された時点を含む所定期間内に、入力音量測定部23が測定した入力音量値に基づいて、通常入力音量値を決定する(S46)。
 通常入力音量決定部28が通常入力音量値を決定した後、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する(S47)。音量判定部29が、入力音量測定部23から入力音量値を受信し、通常入力音量決定部28から通常入力音量値を受信し、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さいか否かを判定する(S48)。
 機能制御部21は、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さいことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合(S48でYES)、予め定められた所定の動作を実行する(S49)。一方、機能制御部21は、入力音量値が通常入力音量値より小さくないことを示す音量判定結果を受信した場合(S48でNO)、音量判定結果に基づく処理は行わず、S50に進む。
 そして、機能制御部21が、スイッチ機能を停止させる指示を受信したか否かを判定する(S50)。機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を停止させる指示を受信していない場合(S50でNO)、S47に戻り、再度、入力音量測定部23が、音入力部17が変換した電気信号を受信して、音入力部17が集音した音の音量を測定する。
 一方、機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を停止させる指示を受信した場合(S50でYES)、機能制御部21は、音入力部17を停止させると共に、スイッチ機能を停止させる(S51)。
 なお、S50にて、機能制御部21がスイッチ機能を停止させる指示を受信していない場合(S50でNO)、S47に戻るのではなく、S43に戻ってもよい。このようにすることによって、常に、音入力部17が集音した音が有効範囲内にあるときに、音量判定部29が実行することができる。
<補足>
 本発明は上述した各実施形態に限定されるものではなく、請求項に示した範囲で種々の変更が可能であり、異なる実施形態にそれぞれ開示された技術的手段を適宜組み合わせて得られる実施形態についても本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
 最後に、携帯電話機1、40の各ブロック、特に制御部11、41は、ハードウェアロジックによって構成してもよいし、次のようにCPUを用いてソフトウェアによって実現してもよい。
 すなわち、携帯電話機1、40は、各機能を実現する制御プログラムの命令を実行するCPU、上記プログラムを格納したROM、上記プログラムを展開するRAM、上記プログラムおよび各種データを格納するメモリ等の記憶装置(記録媒体)などを備えている。そして、本発明の目的は、上述した機能を実現するソフトウェアである携帯電話機1、40の制御プログラムのプログラムコード(実行形式プログラム、中間コードプログラム、ソースプログラム)をコンピュータで読み取り可能に記録した記録媒体を、上記携帯電話機1、40に供給し、そのコンピュータ(またはCPUやMPU)が記録媒体に記録されているプログラムコードを読み出し実行することによっても、達成可能である。
 上記記録媒体としては、例えば、磁気テープやカセットテープ等のテープ系、フロッピー(登録商標)ディスク/ハードディスク等の磁気ディスクやCD-ROM/MO/MD/DVD/CD-R等の光ディスクを含むディスク系、ICカード(メモリカードを含む)/光カード等のカード系、あるいはマスクROM/EPROM/EEPROM/フラッシュROM等の半導体メモリ系などを用いることができる。
 また、携帯電話機1、40を通信ネットワークと接続可能に構成し、上記プログラムコードを通信ネットワークを介して供給してもよい。この通信ネットワークとしては、特に限定されず、例えば、インターネット、イントラネット、エキストラネット、LAN、ISDN、VAN、CATV通信網、仮想専用網(virtual private network)、電話回線網、移動体通信網、衛星通信網等が利用可能である。また、通信ネットワークを構成する伝送媒体としては、特に限定されず、例えば、IEEE1394、USB、電力線搬送、ケーブルTV回線、電話線、ADSL回線等の有線でも、IrDAやリモコンのような赤外線、Bluetooth(登録商標)、802.11無線、HDR、携帯電話網、衛星回線、地上波デジタル網等の無線でも利用可能である。なお、本発明は、上記プログラムコードが電子的な伝送で具現化された、搬送波に埋め込まれたコンピュータデータ信号の形態でも実現され得る。
 また、本発明に係る電子機器について、以下に補足する。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあるか否かを判定する状態判定手段をさらに備え、上記音量判定手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定した後に、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定することが好ましい。
 上記の構成によれば、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にあるか否かを判定する。上記音量判定手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にあると判定した後に、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する。
 そのため、上記音量判定手段は、少なくとも一度、上記音出力部から出力されて音入力部で集音される音を遮る遮蔽物が存在しない状態になった場合にのみ、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する。
 よって、例えば、音出力部および音入力部を操作部として機能させる際に、ユーザが意図せず音出力部または音入力部を押さえていたことによる誤動作を防ぐことができる。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記状態判定手段は、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量と、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量とが略一致している場合、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定することが好ましい。
 上記の構成によれば、上記状態判定手段は、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量と、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量とが略一致している場合に、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定する。
 上記のように、予測音量は、基準状態における上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測した音量である。それゆえ、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量が予測音量と一致している場合、上記入力音量測定手段の測定時が基準状態であると考えられる。
 よって、上記状態判定手段が、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量と、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量とが略一致しているか否かを判別することによって、上記入力音量測定手段の測定時が基準状態であるか否かを正確に判定することができる。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記状態判定手段は、上記音出力部の音出力開始時から所定期間経過した後、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定することが好ましい。
 音出力部および音入力部を操作部として起動する場合、起動時に、ユーザが意図せず、音出力部または音入力部を塞いでいる場合が考えられる。例えば、上述のように、着信時に音出力部および音入力部を操作部として起動する場合、基本的にユーザは着信タイミングを予測することができないため、着信時に音出力部または音入力部を押さえて把持している可能性がある。
 そこで、上記のように、上記状態判定手段が、上記音出力部の音出力開始時から所定期間経過した後、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定する。これにより、上記音量判定手段は、上記音出力部の音出力開始時から所定期間経過した後、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する。すなわち、上記音出力部の音出力開始時から所定期間経過した後に、音出力部および音入力部を操作部として機能させることができる。
 よって、簡単な処理でユーザが意図せず音出力部または音入力部を押さえていたことによる誤動作を防ぐことができる。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記機器機能制御手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定した場合、所定の第2の処理を実行することが好ましい。
 上記の構成によれば、上記機器機能制御手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定した場合、所定の第2の処理を実行する。
 ここで、例えば、上記第2の処理を、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないことをユーザに通知するための処理と規定したとする。この場合、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定することによって、上記機器機能制御手段がユーザにその旨を通知することができる。よって、ユーザに上記音出力部および上記音入力部を基準状態にするように促すことができる。
 また、例えば、電子機器として携帯電話機である場合において、当該携帯電話機が着信時に、上記所定の第2の処理として着信音の音量を上げる処理とする。この場合、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定することによって、着信時に、上記機器機能制御手段が着信音の音量を上げる。
 このとき、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にない場合とは、上記音出力部が何らかの物体で塞がれている場合が考えられ、着信があったにもかかわらず、ユーザに着信音が届いていない可能性がある。この場合、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないことをユーザに通知するより、まず、着信があることをユーザに通知することが望ましい。
 よって、着信を開始してから上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定した場合、上記機器機能制御手段が着信音の音量を上げる。よって、着信を気付いていないユーザに対して、着信があることをより確実に通知することができる。
 本発明に係る電子機器は、上記入力音量測定手段は、上記音入力部に入力された音のうち、上記音出力部から出力された音と同じ周波数成分の音の大きさを測定することが好ましい。
 上記の構成によれば、上記入力音量測定手段は、上記音入力部に入力された音のうち、上記音出力部から出力された音と同じ周波数成分の音の大きさを測定する。そのため、上記音入力部が上記音出力部から出力された音以外の音を集音した場合であっても、上記入力音量測定手段は、上記音出力部から出力された音のみを抽出して、その音の音量を測定することができる。
 よって、例えば、電子機器の周囲で、他の音源から音が出力されていたり、雑音が発生したりしたとしても、上記音出力部と上記音入力部との間に、上記音出力部から出力された音を遮る物体がある状態であるか基準状態であるかを正確に判別することができる。
 本発明は、音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器に利用することができる。

Claims (9)

  1.  音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器であって、
     上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定手段と、
     上記音出力部から出力されて上記音入力部で集音される音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測手段と、
     上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定手段と、
     上記音量判定手段が上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定した場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御手段とを備えることを特徴とする電子機器。
  2.  上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあるか否かを判定する状態判定手段をさらに備え、
     上記音量判定手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定した後に、上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいか否かを判定することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電子機器。
  3.  上記状態判定手段は、上記入力音量測定手段が測定した入力音量と、上記帰還音量予測手段が予測した予測音量とが略一致している場合、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の電子機器。
  4.  上記状態判定手段は、上記音出力部の音出力開始時から所定期間経過した後、上記音出力部および上記音入力部が上記基準状態にあると判定することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の電子機器。
  5.  上記機器機能制御手段は、上記状態判定手段が上記音出力部および上記音入力部が基準状態にないと判定した場合、所定の第2の処理を実行することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電子機器。
  6.  上記入力音量測定手段は、上記音入力部に入力された音のうち、上記音出力部から出力された音と同じ周波数成分の音の大きさを測定することを特徴とする請求項1~5の何れか1項に記載の電子機器。
  7.  音出力部および音入力部を備える電子機器の制御方法であって、
     上記音出力部の音出力時に、上記音入力部に入力された音の大きさを測定する入力音量測定ステップと、
     上記音出力部から出力されて上記音入力部で集音される音を遮る物体が上記音出力部または上記音入力部の位置を基準とした所定距離内に存在しない状態である基準状態において、上記音出力部から出力された音が上記音入力部に入力される音の大きさを予測する帰還音量予測ステップと、
     上記入力音量測定ステップにおいて測定された入力音量が、上記帰還音量予測ステップにおいて予測された予測音量より小さいか否かを判定する音量判定ステップと、
     上記音量判定ステップにおいて上記入力音量が上記予測音量より小さいと判定された場合、所定の第1の処理を実行する機器機能制御ステップとを含むことを特徴とする電子機器の制御方法。
  8.  請求項1~6の何れか1項に記載の電子機器を動作させるための制御プログラムであって、コンピュータを上記各手段として機能させるための制御プログラム。
  9.  請求項8に記載の制御プログラムを記録したコンピュータ読み取り可能な記録媒体。
