That is, the axial force of compression spring 58 is transmitted to rod 54 which in turn is transmitted to journal 52 which in turn controls the degree of circumferential friction between axle 48 and journal 52.
  • Said screw 60 may be employed to secure the position of rod 54 within casing 56 at the time of manufacture. However, in an alternative embodiment, it may be employed to control the amount of linear spring force exerted by spring 58 against rod 54 to thereby control the amount of such force which is transmitted to said rod 54 and to journal 52.

Abstract

Un système de monture de lunettes comprend une partie formant monture avant maintenant des verres de lunettes, une paire d'éléments latéraux formant branches, chaque élément ayant une extrémité proximale et une extrémité distale, l'extrémité proximale de chaque élément étant fixée par une connexion pivotante à un bord extrême respectif de la partie formant monture avant, au moins un des éléments latéraux ayant des surfaces verticales interne et externe, une surface interne d'au moins un des éléments latéraux définissant une rainure dentelée comprenant des encoches femelles, la rainure étant sensiblement transversale à un plan de la partie formant monture avant maintenant des verres de lunettes et sensiblement co-linéaire à un axe défini par chacun des éléments latéraux formant branches, la rainure ayant une extrémité ouverte et une extrémité fermée, l'extrémité ouverte étant dirigée vers une extrémité distale dudit au moins un élément latéral formant branche ; et au moins un ornement sélectionnable ayant une section transversale d'avant en arrière sensiblement en forme de U, une face externe de l'ornement étant pourvue d'un graphisme présentant un intérêt pour un utilisateur du système, la section transversale en forme de U ayant des proportions permettant l'insertion sélectionnable dans la rainure dentelée, une extrémité de l'ornement à l'opposé du graphisme étant pourvue d'une géométrie ayant des proportions permettant un engagement complémentaire par pression dans une ou plusieurs fentes sélectionnables parmi les fentes de la rainure, une largeur de l'ornement en forme de U étant de dimension sensiblement complémentaire à celle d'une section transversale de la rainure dentelée dudit au moins un élément latéral formant branche.
