Abstract

본 발명의 실시예는 임의의 형태의 블록을 이용한 인터예측에 의한 영상의 부호화/복호화 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예는, 영상을 부호화/복호화하는 방법에 있어서, 부호화하고자 하는 현재 블록을 하나 이상의 여러 블록 모양으로 분할하고 그 중에서 최적의 부호화 효율을 갖는 블록의 분할 모양을 결정하고 상기 결정된 분할 모양의 분할블록에 대하여 복수의 비율인자 중에서 최적의 비율인자를 적용하여 움직임 보상을 수행하고 상기 분할블록을 예측하여 영상을 부호화하고 이를 복호화하는 영상 부호화단계 영상 부호화/복호화 방법 및 장치를 제공한다.
