Dans la présente invention une unité de communication sans contact (171) d'un dispositif de lecture/écriture (10) détermine s'il existe ou non un terminal de communication (20_1) capable d'effectuer une communication sans contact à l'aide d'une fonction carte CI de communication sans contact, et, s'il existe un terminal de communication (20_1) capable d'effectuer une communication sans contact à l'aide de la fonction carte CI sans contact, réalise une communication CI sans contact, les informations déterminées étant envoyées au terminal de communication (20_1) et reçues en provenance de ce dernier. De même, une unité de communication vocale (172) du dispositif de lecture/écriture (10) détermine s'il existe ou non un terminal de communication (20_2) à proximité, et si un terminal se trouve à proximité, réalise une communication vocale de sorte que les informations vocales déterminées sont envoyées au terminal de communication (20_2) et reçues en provenance de ce dernier.
