Description
本発明は、化学装置の洗浄方法に関する。
各種化学装置には、原料や装置に由来する不純物やスケールなどの各種不純物が残存することがある。非特許文献1には、化学装置の洗浄に、洗浄液として水、炭化水素系溶剤、アルコール系溶剤、界面活性剤などを用いる方法が記載されている。
また、特許文献1には、反応器に残留する金属銅および銅酸化物を洗浄除去すること、およびその手段として圧力水による散水洗浄、希硝酸水による溶解洗浄、あるいは拭取りを用いることが記載されている。その他、特許文献2には、タンク内の沈積物を洗浄する方法において、タンク内の水溶液にアンモニアおよびエチレンジアミンを添加し、これにより沈積物中に存在する銅化合物のキレート錯体を形成させて化学的に溶媒に溶解させ、続けて機械的に除去する手段が記載されている。
なお、特許文献1および非特許文献2には、銅触媒の酸化を防ぐために系内を不活性雰囲気に保つこと、換言すれば、空気存在下で銅触媒が酸化されやすいことが記載されている。

上記のように、各種化学装置には使用に応じて各種不純物が残存することがある。例えば、固体触媒を備えた触媒反応装置では、触媒や担体由来の金属または無機物が触媒層から流出し、系内に残存することがある。
例えば銅成分に関しては、特許文献1および非特許文献2に記載されているように、銅は酸化されやすいことが知られている。銅触媒を備えた触媒反応装置の場合、触媒層から流出して系中に微量存在する銅成分は酸化銅になっていることが予想される。酸化銅[I]および酸化銅[II]はともに硝酸等の無機酸に溶解することが知られていることから、銅成分は無機酸による洗浄で除去できると考えられる。しかしながら、本発明者らの検討によれば、水や無機酸による洗浄では、銅成分の除去は不充分であることがわかった。
特に、化学装置を洗浄後に他の反応系や用途へ転用する場合は、洗浄後に以前と同様の反応を再開する場合に比べて、残留金属成分をより低いレベルまで低減する必要がある。しかしながら、本発明者らの検討によれば、化学装置を他の反応条件や用途へ転用できる程度にまで系中に微量存在する金属成分を除去するには、水や無機酸では洗浄効率が不充分であることがわかった。
また、特許文献2に記載された方法によっても、特に化学装置を他の反応条件や用途へ転用できる程度にまで系中に微量存在する金属成分を除去するには、不充分であると考えられる。
本発明者らは上記課題を解決するため鋭意検討を行った。その結果、下記液を洗浄液として用いて化学装置に供給することにより、上記課題を解決できることを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
すなわち本発明の要旨は以下の通りである:

本発明によれば、化学装置を他の反応条件や用途へ転用できる程度にまで系中に微量存在する金属成分を除去することができる。特に、アクリロニトリルからアクリルアミドを製造する工業プロセスにおいて、還元銅触媒を用いるケミカル法から酵素触媒を用いるバイオ法への切り替え時の化学装置の洗浄に、本発明は好適に使用することができる。
以下に本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。
本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法は、金属成分が付着した化学装置に、構成原子上に孤立電子対を持つ基を有する化合物(特にアミド化合物)を含む液を供給することにより、前記金属成分を除去する工程を有する。本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法は、前記化合物を含む液を供給する前に、無機酸を含む溶液を化学装置に供給する工程をさらに有することが好ましい。
すなわち本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法は、(1)金属成分が付着した化学装置に、無機酸を含む溶液を供給する工程、続いて(2)前記化学装置に、構成原子上に孤立電子対を持つ基を有する化合物(特にアミド化合物)を含む液を供給する工程を有することが好ましい。
以下、本発明の洗浄対象である化学装置および金属成分、構成原子上に孤立電子対を有する化合物を含む液、ならびに無機酸を含む溶液について説明した後、洗浄条件について説明する。
〈化学装置〉
化学装置としては、反応槽、蒸留塔、固液分離装置、熱交換器、配管などを含む反応装置が挙げられる。反応装置、特に固体触媒などを備えた触媒反応装置は、微量の金属成分の存在でも問題になることがあるため、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法を使用する意義が大きい。特に、触媒反応装置中に分散した固体触媒に由来する金属成分の除去に、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法を好適に使用することができる。
化学装置としては、反応槽、蒸留塔、固液分離装置、熱交換器、配管などを含む反応装置が挙げられる。反応装置、特に固体触媒などを備えた触媒反応装置は、微量の金属成分の存在でも問題になることがあるため、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法を使用する意義が大きい。特に、触媒反応装置中に分散した固体触媒に由来する金属成分の除去に、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法を好適に使用することができる。
〈金属成分〉
金属成分とは、化学装置自体や化学装置内で用いる化学成分(例:触媒)に由来する金属不純物を指す。金属成分は特に限定されないが、中でも銅触媒に由来する銅成分、特に還元銅触媒に由来する銅成分が挙げられる。すなわち、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法は、化学装置に付着した銅成分の除去・低減に好適に使用することができる。
金属成分とは、化学装置自体や化学装置内で用いる化学成分(例:触媒)に由来する金属不純物を指す。金属成分は特に限定されないが、中でも銅触媒に由来する銅成分、特に還元銅触媒に由来する銅成分が挙げられる。すなわち、本発明の化学装置の洗浄方法は、化学装置に付着した銅成分の除去・低減に好適に使用することができる。
銅触媒としては、ラネー銅、シリカやアルミナに担持した還元銅、CrO3-CuO系、液相還元銅などが挙げられる。化学装置内に金属不純物として存在する金属成分(例:銅成分)の酸化状態は、触媒中の金属(例:銅)の酸化状態とは異なることがある。例えば、銅成分は金属銅、酸化物、ハロゲン化物などの何れであってもよく、銅の酸化状態は一価または二価が好ましい。
〈構成原子上に孤立電子対を持つ基を有する化合物を含む液〉
本発明において、構成原子上に孤立電子対を持つ基を有する化合物(以下「化合物Lp」ともいう。)を含む液が用いられる。但し、化合物Lpからは、水および無機酸は除外される。

化合物Lpを含む液を洗浄液として用いることにより、化学装置に付着した金属成分を効率的に除去できる理由は定かではないが、「化学装置に付着した金属成分は、金属、金属イオン、金属酸化物などの種々の形態を取っている。この化学装置に化合物Lpを含む液を供給すると、化合物Lpと金属成分との相互作用(例えば、化合物Lpと金属または金属イオンとの錯体形成、化合物Lpおよび金属酸化物間の分子間力)により、金属成分は、化学装置から排出されやすい状態となり、化合物Lpを含む液とともに除去される。」と推定される。
化合物Lpにおいて、孤立電子対を持つ構成原子としては、窒素原子、酸素原子、燐原子などが挙げられ;構成原子上に孤立電子対を持つ基としては、置換または無置換のアミノ基(-NR1R2;R1およびR2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子またはアルキル基を示す。)、置換または無置換のイミノ基(=N-R;Rは水素原子またはアルキル基を示す。)、置換または無置換のアミド基(-C(=O)-NR1R2;R1およびR2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子またはアルキル基を示す。)、置換または無置換のイミド基(-CO-NR-CO-;Rは水素原子またはアルキル基を示す。)、水酸基(-OH)、アルコキシ基(-OR;Rはアルキル基を示す。)、カルボキシル基(-COOH)、カルボニル基(-C(=O)-;但し、カルボニル炭素の2つの結合対象は炭素原子である。)、アルコキシカルボニル基(-COOR;Rはアルキル基を示す。)、ホルミル基(-CHO)、置換または無置換のホスフィノ基(-PR1R2;R1およびR2はそれぞれ独立に水素原子またはアルキル基を示す。)、含窒素複素環(例:ピロール、ピリジン)、含酸素複素環(例:フラン)などが挙げられる。
化合物Lpは1種単独で用いてもよく、2種以上を併用してもよい。
化合物Lpとしては、置換または無置換のアミノ基、置換または無置換のアミド基、カルボキシル基および含窒素複素環から選択される少なくとも1種の基を有する化合物が好ましい。これらの化合物は、金属成分が銅成分である場合に好適である。
化合物Lpとしては、置換または無置換のアミド基を有する化合物、すなわちアミド化合物がより好ましく、アクリルアミドおよびメタアクリルアミドがさらに好ましく、アクリルアミドが特に好ましい。アクリルアミドが特に好ましい理由は、本発明の洗浄方法をアクリロニトリルからアクリルアミドを製造する際の触媒反応装置の洗浄に使用する場合、洗浄成分のアクリルアミド自体が製造物であるため、触媒反応装置の洗浄後にアクリルアミドを除去する必要がなく、そのままアクリルアミドの製造を開始できるからである。
化合物Lpを含む液としては、化合物Lpの液をそのまま用いてもよく、化合物Lpを溶解または懸濁しうる媒体と化合物Lpとを含む混合液を用いてもよい。前記媒体としては、水、あるいはメタノール、エタノール等のアルコール類などが挙げられる。また、2種類以上の媒体を混合して用いることもできる。溶解性が良好でかつ安価である点から、前記媒体としては水を用いること、すなわち化合物Lpを含む水溶液を用いることが好ましい。
ただし、化合物Lpを含む液は、チオ化合物を実質的に含有しないことが好ましい。すなわちチオ化合物の含有量は、化合物Lpを含む液の0.5重量%未満であることが好ましく、チオ化合物が不含であることが特に好ましい。この場合、系中にチオ化合物が極めて少ないか実質的に残存しないことになり、化学装置の用途切り替え後の反応において、反応生成物の品質を損なうことがない。
チオ化合物としては、例えば、2-アミノエチルメルカプタン、チオグリコール酸およびこれらの塩が挙げられる。2-アミノエチルメルカプタンの塩としては、例えば、塩酸塩、硫酸塩、リン酸塩等の無機酸塩、酢酸塩、乳酸塩、P-トルエンスルホン酸塩、アルキルスルホン酸塩、安息香酸塩等の有機酸塩が挙げられる。チオグリコール酸の塩としては、例えば、アンモニウム塩、ナトリウム塩、カリウム塩が挙げられる。
液中の化合物Lpの重量濃度は、通常0.1%~60%、好ましくは1%~50%、特に好ましくは5%~50%である。重量濃度が前記範囲を下回ると効率的に金属を溶解除去できなくなることがあり、重量濃度が前記範囲を上回ると費用のわりに効果を得られないことがある。
洗浄成分としては、溶解性を高めるために溶解助剤、pH調節剤などを用いてもよい。
〈無機酸を含む溶液〉
本発明において、化合物Lpを含む液を化学装置に供給する前に、予め無機酸を含む溶液を供給することが好ましい。予め無機酸を含む溶液を供給することにより、化合物Lpを含む液による洗浄効率が向上すると考えられる。

無機酸としては、硝酸、塩酸、硫酸などが挙げられる。
無機酸を含む溶液には、無機酸を溶解しうる媒体を特に制限無く用いることができる。また、2種類以上の媒体を混合して用いることもできる。溶解性が良好でかつ安価である点から、前記媒体としては水を用いること、すなわち無機酸の水溶液を用いることが好ましい。
溶液中の無機酸の重量濃度は、通常0.01%~50%、好ましくは0.05%~30%、特に好ましくは0.1%~10%である。重量濃度が前記範囲を下回ると効率的に金属を溶解除去できなくなることがあり、重量濃度が前記範囲を上回ると費用のわりに効果を得られないことがある。
〈洗浄条件〉
化合物Lpを含む液は、化学装置全体に供給することも、装置の一部に供給することも可能であり、反応装置を洗浄する場合には反応装置全体に供給することが好ましい。また、供給条件としては、溶解性を高めるために乱流としてもよく、高圧洗浄などの物理的手段を用いてもよい。また、前記液の供給形態は、連続処理でも回分処理でもよい。
化合物Lpを含む液は、化学装置全体に供給することも、装置の一部に供給することも可能であり、反応装置を洗浄する場合には反応装置全体に供給することが好ましい。また、供給条件としては、溶解性を高めるために乱流としてもよく、高圧洗浄などの物理的手段を用いてもよい。また、前記液の供給形態は、連続処理でも回分処理でもよい。
化合物Lpを含む液の供給量は、化学装置の容積の通常0.1倍~100倍、好ましくは0.5倍~50倍、より好ましくは1倍~50倍である。供給量が前記下限値以上であると化学装置に付着した金属成分をほぼ溶解除去できる点で好ましく、他方、前記上限値を越えても費用のわりに効果を得られないことがある。化合物Lpを含む液は数度に分けて化学装置に供給してもよく、この場合、前記供給量は各回の供給量を合計した全供給量を指す。
また、化学装置に供給した後の洗浄液は、再利用することも可能である。化学装置に洗浄液の循環設備を設けて、化学装置に供給した後の洗浄液を再利用することは、経済性の観点から好ましい。
化合物Lpを含む液の温度は、通常0℃~100℃であり、好ましくは5℃~50℃であり、さらに好ましくは10℃~30℃である。温度が前記下限値以上であると溶解性の観点から好ましく、温度が前記上限値以下であると化合物Lpの安定性の観点から好ましい。
洗浄時間は、通常0.5時間~48時間、好ましくは1時間~24時間である。化合物Lpを含む液は数度に分けて化学装置に供給してもよく、この場合、前記洗浄時間は各回における洗浄時間を指す。
また、金属成分が付着した化学装置に、無機酸を含む溶液を予め供給する場合には、その供給量は、化学装置の容積の通常0.1倍~100倍、好ましくは0.5倍~50倍であり;溶液温度は、通常0℃~100℃、好ましくは5℃~50℃であり;洗浄時間は、通常0.5時間~48時間、好ましくは1時間~24時間である。無機酸を含む溶液は数度に分けて化学装置に供給してもよく、この場合、前記供給量は各回の供給量を合計した全供給量を指し、前記洗浄時間は各回における洗浄時間を指す。
化学装置に供給した後の溶液中に含まれる金属成分量は、化学装置の洗浄度合いの目安となる。最終的な前記金属成分量、特に銅の残留量は、0.01ppm以下が好ましく、0.005ppm以下が特に好ましい。洗浄後の溶液中に含まれる金属成分量は、吸光光度法によって求めることができる。
〔化学装置の用途切り替えに伴う洗浄〕
以下、本発明の洗浄方法の特に好ましい適用対象について、説明する。

アクリロニトリルからアクリルアミドを製造する反応は、還元銅触媒を用いるケミカル法(接触触媒法)が知られているが、近年では酵素触媒を用いるバイオ法(酵素触媒法)の開発が進んでいる。
ケミカル法では、アクリロニトリルの反応性・アクリルアミドへの選択性の面から、還元銅触媒を用いた方法が工業的に実用化されている。還元銅触媒としては、ラネー銅、シリカやアルミナに担持した還元銅、CrO3-CuO系、液相還元銅などが挙げられる。工業プロセスでは、アクリロニトリル水溶液を70℃~120℃、加圧状態(液相保持)にて、数時間反応させることでアクリルアミドが製造されている。触媒の分離・再生およびコスト面を考慮し、攪拌式懸濁床や固定床が採用されている。
バイオ法による工業プロセスでは、ニトリルからアミドへの変換機能を持つ酵素(ニトリルヒドラターゼ)を有する菌体を、水性媒体に懸濁、もしくは担体に固定化した酵素触媒を用い、例えば、常温・常圧という条件下で水和反応を進行させている。
アクリルアミドの製造設備に関して、従来のケミカル法で用いた触媒反応装置をバイオ法へ転用できれば便宜であり、このため触媒反応装置に付着した銅成分を効率的に除去することが望まれる。しかしながら、本発明者らの検討によれば、触媒層から銅触媒を撤去した後にも、反応系中には銅成分が微量存在することが明らかとなった。
触媒反応装置は、例えば、槽型および/またはプラグフロー型の触媒反応槽を含む。触媒反応装置は、さらに、蒸留塔、反応液と触媒や不純物とを分離する固液分離装置、反応液を循環させる熱交換器、各機器を接続する配管を含んでいてもよい。すなわち、ここでいう触媒反応装置とは、触媒反応槽だけでなく、反応プロセスで使用される機器全体を指す。
本発明の洗浄方法を用いることにより、アクリロニトリルからアクリルアミドを製造する触媒反応装置から、微量存在する銅成分を洗浄除去することができる。したがって、ケミカル法からバイオ法に反応装置の用途を切り替えたとしても、残留銅成分により反応が阻害されないため、バイオ法によるアクリルアミドの製造効率等が向上するとともに、酵素触媒に悪影響を与えることもない。また、目的物質がアクリルアミドであるため、洗浄液としてアクリルアミドを含む液を用いた場合、当該洗浄液の残留物の除去が不要となる。また、得られるアクリルアミドの品質が優れることから、アクリルアミドの重合速度が高く、高分子量のアクリルアミド重合体を容易に得ることができる。
以下、実施例に基づいて本発明をより詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらに限定されるものではない。
〔銅量の測定〕
洗浄液中に含まれる銅量の測定は、以下のようにして行った。

分液ロートに洗浄液を200ml採取し、さらに水75gにクエン酸アンモニウム20gを溶解させた液を10ml採取し、これらを混合した。分液ロートに10wt%-アンモニア水を加え、pHを9に調整した。これにN,N-ジエチルカルバミド酸ナトリウム・3水和物を0.2g添加した後、混合した。その後、酢酸n-ブチルを10ml加え、さらにシェーカーで1分間振盪した後に10分静置し、酢酸n-ブチル層を分離した。
得られた酢酸n-ブチル層を乾燥した5Cのろ紙でろ過し、波長430nm、10mmセルを用いて吸光度を測定(対象は酢酸n-ブチル)し、また純水200mlを用いて実施した空試験の吸光度も測定し、予め濃度既知の標準試料(原子吸光度用銅標準溶液等)から求めておいた検量線を用いて分析値を計算した。
[実施例1]
攪拌機、ジャケットおよび触媒分離器を内蔵した、約2LのSUS製反応器にラネー触媒を400g仕込み、これに、予め窒素ガスを用いて溶存酸素を除いたアクリロニトリルおよび水を各々600g/hr、900g/hrの速度で供給し、ジャケットに熱媒を流通し、120℃で反応させた。反応液は、触媒と共に攪拌されて懸濁液となり、ついで触媒分離器を通って触媒を殆ど含まない液として反応器から取り出される。この反応を14日間続けた。
攪拌機、ジャケットおよび触媒分離器を内蔵した、約2LのSUS製反応器にラネー触媒を400g仕込み、これに、予め窒素ガスを用いて溶存酸素を除いたアクリロニトリルおよび水を各々600g/hr、900g/hrの速度で供給し、ジャケットに熱媒を流通し、120℃で反応させた。反応液は、触媒と共に攪拌されて懸濁液となり、ついで触媒分離器を通って触媒を殆ど含まない液として反応器から取り出される。この反応を14日間続けた。
反応器から反応液および触媒を抜き出した後に、反応器へ0.5wt%硝酸1.5Lを仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。この硝酸による洗浄操作を3回繰り返した。3回目の洗浄によって得られた洗浄液中に含まれる銅の量を測定したところ、分析値は0.012ppmであった。
(1)新たに40wt%アクリルアミド水溶液1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.015ppmであった。
(2)新たに40wt%アクリルアミド水溶液1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.005ppmであった。
(3)新たに40wt%アクリルアミド水溶液1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.002ppm(検出限界)以下であった。以下、当該(3)での洗浄後のSUS製反応器を「SUS製反応器A」ともいう。
〔酵素触媒を用いたアクリルアミドの製造〕
最終製品として、水溶液中のアクリルアミド濃度が50重量%の製品を得るため、以下の条件で反応を行った。なお、特開2001-340091号公報の実施例1記載の培養方法で得られた湿菌体を純水に懸濁し、乾燥菌体重量換算で0.2重量%の菌体懸濁液を得た。
最終製品として、水溶液中のアクリルアミド濃度が50重量%の製品を得るため、以下の条件で反応を行った。なお、特開2001-340091号公報の実施例1記載の培養方法で得られた湿菌体を純水に懸濁し、乾燥菌体重量換算で0.2重量%の菌体懸濁液を得た。
第1反応器として、上記で洗浄を行ったSUS製反応器Aから触媒分離器を取り外したものを用い、第2反応器として、内径5mmのテフロン(登録商標)製チューブ40mを準備した。第1反応器には、予め800gの水を仕込んだ。
第1反応器内を撹拌しながら、上記菌体懸濁液を20g/hの速度で連続的に供給した。アクリロニトリルは64g/hの速度で、純水は76g/hの速度で連続的に供給した。さらに反応pHが7.5~8.5となるように、0.1M-NaOH水溶液を供給した。これらの原料は、各々の貯槽から単独のラインで供給され、反応器内に供給されるまで、他の原料に接触することはなかった。さらに、第1反応器の液面レベルを一定に保つように、反応液を第1反応器から160g/hの速度で連続的に抜き出した。第1反応器の平均滞留時間は10時間とした。
抜き出された反応液を第2反応器に連続的に供給して、第2反応器内でさらに反応を進行させた。第2反応器の平均滞留時間は5時間とした。なお、湿菌体の添加量は、第1反応器のアクリロニトリル転化率が90%となるように調整を行った。
第1反応器では、ジャケットの冷媒を流通させ、反応器内部の温度が15℃となるように温度制御を行った。第2反応器は10~20℃の温度の水浴中に浸漬し、反応器内部の温度が15℃となるように温度制御を行った。
反応を開始してから2日後に各反応器の反応液をサンプリングし、以下のHPLC条件にて分析を行い、第1反応器出口と第2反応器出口とでの反応液の分析を行った。第1反応器出口でのアクリロニトリルの反応転化率は90%であり、かつ第2反応器出口でのアクリロニトリルは検出限界(10ppm)以下であり、アクリルアミド濃度が53.5重量%となった。
ここで分析条件は以下のとおりであった。

アクリルアミド濃度は以下のようにして求めた。市販のアクリルアミドを純水に溶解させ、濃度既知のアクリルアミド水溶液を調製し、HPLCにおけるアクリルアミド濃度分析用検量線を作成した。これを用いて、被験液のHPLC分析時の面積値を、アクリルアミド濃度に換算した(絶対検量線法)。また、HPLC測定に用いる反応液の量は5μLであった。なお、各反応液の密度の影響はほとんどないため、このようにしてアクリルアミド濃度(重量%)が得られた。

アクリルアミド濃度は以下のようにして求めた。市販のアクリルアミドを純水に溶解させ、濃度既知のアクリルアミド水溶液を調製し、HPLCにおけるアクリルアミド濃度分析用検量線を作成した。これを用いて、被験液のHPLC分析時の面積値を、アクリルアミド濃度に換算した(絶対検量線法)。また、HPLC測定に用いる反応液の量は5μLであった。なお、各反応液の密度の影響はほとんどないため、このようにしてアクリルアミド濃度(重量%)が得られた。
この反応を、2日目に分析を実施して以降さらに約2日間継続した。この約2日間で約7500gの反応液が得られた。得られた反応液に対し、活性炭(クラレケミカル(株)製粉状活性炭PM-SX)を30g添加し、0.5重量%-アクリル酸水溶液160gを加えた後、1M-NaOH水溶液でpHを5に調整した。これを25℃で5時間撹拌したあと、濾紙にて濾過を行い、活性炭を除去した。その後、活性炭に付着したアクリルアミドを回収するため、300gの純水で活性炭を洗浄し、先の活性炭処理液と混合して、1M-NaOH水溶液で中和し、pHを7として約7900gのアクリルアミド水溶液を得た。この活性炭処理後のアクリルアミド水溶液中の最終アクリルアミド濃度は、50.6重量%であった。得られたアクリルアミド水溶液を用いて銅量の測定を行った結果、分析値は0.002ppm(検出限界)以下であった。
〔アクリルアミド重合体の製造〕
上記のようにして得られたアクリルアミド水溶液に水を加え、濃度20重量%のアクリルアミド水溶液とした。この20重量%アクリルアミド水溶液500gを1Lポリエチレン容器に入れ、18℃に保ちながら、窒素を通じて液中の溶存酸素を除き、直ちに、発泡スチロール製の保温用ブロックの中に入れた。
上記のようにして得られたアクリルアミド水溶液に水を加え、濃度20重量%のアクリルアミド水溶液とした。この20重量%アクリルアミド水溶液500gを1Lポリエチレン容器に入れ、18℃に保ちながら、窒素を通じて液中の溶存酸素を除き、直ちに、発泡スチロール製の保温用ブロックの中に入れた。
次いで、200×10-6mpmの4,4'-アゾビス(4-シアノバレリアン酸ナトリウム)、200×10-6mpmのジメチルアミノプロピオニトリル、および80×10-6mpmの過硫酸アンモニウムを各々小量の水に溶解して、この順序に1Lポリエチレン容器中に素早く注入した。なお、mpmは、各成分のアクリルアミドに対するモル比を表す。これらの試薬には、予め窒素ガスを通じておき、また、注入およびその前後には、上記ポリエチレン容器にも少量の窒素ガスを通じ、酸素ガスの混入を防止した。
試薬を注入すると、数分間の誘導期の後、ポリエチレン容器の内部の温度が上昇するのが認められたので窒素ガスの供給を止めた。約100分間、保温用ブロック中で、そのままの状態でポリエチレン容器を保持したところ、ポリエチレン容器の内部の温度が約70℃に達した。そこで、ポリエチレン容器を保温用ブロックから取り出し、97℃の水に2時間浸漬しさらに重合反応を進めた。その後冷水に浸漬して冷却し、重合反応を停止した。
このようにして得られたアクリルアミド重合体の含水ゲルをポリエチレン容器から取り出し、小塊に分け、肉挽器ですり潰した。このすり潰したアクリルアミド重合体の含水ゲルを、100℃の熱風で2時間乾燥し、さらに、高速回転刃粉砕器で粉砕して乾燥粉末状のアクリルアミド重合体を得た。
得られた乾燥粉末状のアクリルアミド重合体を篩に掛け、32~42メッシュの重合体を分取した。この分取したアクリルアミド重合体を後述する試験法により評価した。評価結果を表1に示す。
[比較例1]
攪拌機、ジャケットおよび触媒分離器を内蔵した、約2LのSUS製反応器にラネー触媒を400g仕込み、これに予め、窒素ガスを用いて溶存酸素を除いたアクリロニトリルおよび水を各々600g/hr、900g/hrの速度で供給し、ジャケットに熱媒を流通し、120℃で反応させた。反応液は、触媒と共に攪拌されて懸濁液となり、ついで触媒分離器を通って触媒を殆ど含まない液として反応器から取り出される。この反応を14日間続けた。
攪拌機、ジャケットおよび触媒分離器を内蔵した、約2LのSUS製反応器にラネー触媒を400g仕込み、これに予め、窒素ガスを用いて溶存酸素を除いたアクリロニトリルおよび水を各々600g/hr、900g/hrの速度で供給し、ジャケットに熱媒を流通し、120℃で反応させた。反応液は、触媒と共に攪拌されて懸濁液となり、ついで触媒分離器を通って触媒を殆ど含まない液として反応器から取り出される。この反応を14日間続けた。
反応器から反応液および触媒を抜き出した後に、反応器へ0.5wt%硝酸1.5Lを仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。この硝酸による洗浄操作を3回繰り返した。3回目の洗浄によって得られた洗浄液中に含まれる銅の量を測定したところ、分析値は0.012ppmであった。
(1)新たに0.5wt%硝酸1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.011ppmであった。
(2)新たに0.5wt%硝酸1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.012ppmであった。
(3)新たに0.5wt%硝酸1.5Lを反応器へ仕込み、20℃にて24時間攪拌した。得られた洗浄液中の銅量の測定を行った。その結果、分析値は0.011ppmであった。以下、当該(3)での洗浄後のSUS製反応器を「SUS製反応器B」ともいう。
実施例の結果から、(3)の洗浄液中からは既に銅がほとんど検出されなくなり、本発明の洗浄方法は洗浄効率に優れていることがわかる。他方、比較例の結果から、(3)の洗浄液中からは依然として銅が多く検出されており、無機酸を含む溶液のみによる洗浄方法は洗浄効率が不充分であることがわかる。
〔酵素触媒を用いたアクリルアミドの製造〕
実施例1において、実施例1で洗浄したSUS製反応器Aを用いる代わりに、比較例1で洗浄したSUS製反応器Bを用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様に操作を行い、アクリルアミドを製造した。得られたアクリルアミド水溶液を用いて銅量の測定を行った結果、分析値は0.016ppmであった。
実施例1において、実施例1で洗浄したSUS製反応器Aを用いる代わりに、比較例1で洗浄したSUS製反応器Bを用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様に操作を行い、アクリルアミドを製造した。得られたアクリルアミド水溶液を用いて銅量の測定を行った結果、分析値は0.016ppmであった。
〔アクリルアミド重合体の製造〕
実施例1と同様の操作を行い、乾燥粉末状のアクリルアミド重合体を得た。

得られた乾燥粉末状のアクリルアミド重合体を篩に掛け、32~42メッシュの重合体を分取した。この分取したアクリルアミド重合体を後述する試験法により評価した。評価結果を表1に示す。
〔アクリルアミド重合体の試験法〕
上記重合体製造時の重合速度は最高温度に到達するまでの時間で評価した。

また、上記で得られた重合体の水溶性および標準粘度の評価を以下の方法で行った。
水溶性:水溶性テストは、1Lビーカーに水600mLを入れ、定められた形状の撹拌羽根を用いて25℃で撹拌しながらアクリルアミド重合体0.6gを添加し、400rpmで2時間攪拌を行い、得られた溶液を150メッシュの金網で濾過し、不溶解分を濾別し、その乾燥重量より不溶解分の含有率を求めたものである。
標準粘度:上記水溶性試験により得られる濾液は、濃度0.1重量%のポリマー水溶液である。これに1M濃度相当の塩化ナトリウムを加え、BL型粘度計でBLアダプターを用いて25℃、ローター回転数60rpmで粘度を測定した(標準粘度)。このような方法で得られる標準粘度は分子量に相関ある値として慣用される。
表1に示すように、アクリルアミドで洗浄した反応装置を用いて製造されたアクリルアミドは、硝酸で洗浄した反応装置を用いて製造されたアクリルアミドに比べて、重合速度が高く、得られる重合体も高分子量体であった。
Claims (6)
- 金属成分が付着した化学装置に、アミド化合物を含む液を供給することにより、前記金属成分を除去する工程を有することを特徴とする化学装置の洗浄方法。
- 前記化学装置が、固体触媒を備えた触媒反応装置であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の化学装置の洗浄方法。
- 前記金属成分が、銅成分であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の化学装置の洗浄方法。
- 前記アミド化合物が、アクリルアミドであることを特徴とする請求項1~3の何れか一項に記載の化学装置の洗浄方法。
- 前記化学装置が、固体触媒を備えた触媒反応装置であり、

前記アミド化合物が、アクリルアミドである
