Abstract

L'invention porte sur un procédé de modification de xylane soluble qui contient des chaînes latérales acide glucuronique et/ou arabinose afin qu'il puisse être adsorbé sur d'autres substrats. Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à modifier par voie enzymatique le xylane par enlèvement sélectif des chaînes latérales acide glucuronique et/ou arabinose du xylane avec de l'α-D-glucuronidase et/ou de l'α-L-arabinofuranosidase et laisser le xylane modifié s'adsorber sur le substrat. Le substrat peut être un substrat cellulosique comme la pâte ou le papier ou un substrat non cellulosique. Les enzymes peuvent enlever un nombre suffisant des chaînes latérales du xylane afin de diminuer la solubilité dans l'eau du xylane, entraîner une précipitation du xylane et permettre l'adsorption du xylane sur d'autres substrats. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de fabrication de pâte qui incorpore la modification de xylane et l'adsorption sur une matière cellulosique, ainsi que sur des produits qui contiennent le xylane modifié.
