Definitions
- the present invention refers to an ergonomic device auxiliary to the resuscitation maneuver, which has been conceived and carried out in order to obtain varied and notable advantages when performing the CPR, with total prophylaxis.
- the device is designed so that in a practical and fast way, thanks to a tube the patient's mouth and pharynx are released for the passage of air, the tongue is retained to avoid choking or injuries in case of bite in the period of time that Air intake, exhalation and cardiac massage are practiced.
- the mouthpiece has and its opposite unidirectional valves, resuscitator contact with the patient's mouth is prevented, thus avoiding possible contagions through saliva, breath, vomiting or blood. HIV, SARS, hepatitis and all kinds of diseases and / or infections.
- the resuscitator must introduce the semi-curved body of the oropharyngeal respirator through the patient's mouth, thus ensuring that it remains open, thus allowing air to pass through.
- the respirator body which is also flattened and slightly curved to the sides, holds the tongue avoiding choking and allowing the circulation of fluids if any. It also prevents bites, protecting the tongue and the rest of the mouth.
- the two existing valves of the Duck Bill or "duckbill" (or all unidirectional) check valve prevent these fluids exhaled by the patient from coming into contact with the mouth of the resuscitator.
- One of these valves is inside the respirator body and opens when the resuscitator blows.
- the second valve faces outside and opens in case of exhalation.
- the assembly can be represented by several pieces, screwed, under pressure, welded or solved according to the best manufacturing techniques. It will be presented sterilized and packed with units. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
- the device of the invention has a structure strong enough to penetrate the patient's mouth and throat and at the same time the flexibility necessary not to generate lesions.
- One option is to lubricate it at the factory.
- the material used for its manufacture must be plastic or similar, harmless and colorless, transparent. The latter allows to see the existence of fluids, if the patient bleeds or vomits.
- the section that enters the patient's mouth is flattened and slightly curved to the sides, as well as the body in a curved shape, similar to a common cannula. It can be a tube according to the design. This design allows the clamping of the tongue, and the opening of the mouth (an indispensable minimum) and of course leaving the area clear, guaranteeing the passage of air and avoiding bites.
- a model has two tubes in parallel. The end that enters through the mouth is rounded and has a wide opening.
- the external end which the lifeguard uses, has two non-return valves, of the type "duck itch" or other: an internal one, which allows the passage of insufflated air through the resuscitator (preventing the flow in the opposite direction) and another external , which allows the exit of air and possible fluids from the patient, avoiding drowning.
- the resuscitator will use the support nozzle, on the outer end of the respirator, which has two lugs inside to hold with its own teeth. It has a protection that completely covers the lips, in addition to the separation distance between the mouths (originated by the respirator tube), avoiding any contact with the patient, his mouth, his skin, saiiva and other fluids; preventing a possible infection in cases of infections, HIV and others. And allowing the optimal performance of the RCPB maneuver. Also the victim has a protector that covers his lips.
- Figure 1. Shows an exploded view of the parts that constitute the clamping device object of the invention. Ergonomic nozzle with clamping lugs (See also design 4 in multiple designs).
- Figure 2 Shows the zone of the unidirectional (non-return) valves. A protector for the victim's lips.
- Figure 3. Sample of the device section with the flattened end (for tongue clamping + bite protection).
- the device is constituted by a piece, the piece being formed by a curved body (which goes into the mouth and part of the patient's throat) from which a neck for the mouth of the mouth is derived resuscitator, at the opposite end.
