- the content playback information calculation unit 312 calculates the playback start time Pi (t) when the i-th content is played back in the current playback order based on Equation 1.
- Pi (t) Ei-1 (t) + g (Formula 1) Equation 1 means that calculation is performed so that Pi (t) and Ei-1 (t) + g are approximated.
- the content reproduction information calculation unit 312 calculates the download time Di of the i-th content and the reproducible data amount download time D′ i based on the distribution status 1002. Further, the content reproduction information calculation unit 312 calculates a distributable time Ti (t) based on the processing time 3104 and the distribution status 1002. In this example, the distribution status 1002 used when calculating the reproducible data amount download time includes the memory amount of the buffer.
- the terminal needs to issue a distribution request to the server at a time D′ i earlier than the time Pi (t) at the latest.
- the distribution available time Ti (t) must be taken into consideration. This is because if a server receives a content distribution request while it is not ready for content distribution, some servers are burdened at once, and the processing time is assumed from the original server processing capacity. This is because the processing time may be exceeded. Therefore, a delivery request is issued to the server when the server is ready for delivery.
- the content reproduction information calculation unit 312 transmits the calculated reproduction start time Pi (t), the reproducible data amount download time D'i, and the distribution possible time Ti (t) to the content table generation unit 311 (S404).
- the content table generating unit 311 distributes such that Expression 2 shown below is satisfied.
- the request time Ri (t) is determined (S405).
- an arbitrary time is determined as the distribution request time for the first content distribution request time. For example, it is determined in consideration of the time taken to generate the script.
- the content table generating unit 311 When Expression 2 is satisfied, that is, when Ti (t) ⁇ Pi (t) ⁇ D′i, the content table generating unit 311 officially sets the reproduction start time Pi (t) received from the content reproduction information calculating unit 312. Is determined as the reproduction start time Pi (t). Further, the content table generating unit 311 determines Ri (t) that satisfies Ti (t) ⁇ Ri (t) ⁇ Pi (t) ⁇ D′i. The content table generating unit 311 calculates a playback content schedule 3106 including the determined distribution request time Ri (t) and playback start time Pi (t) (S406).
- the reproduction content table generation unit 311 stores the reproduction content schedule 3106 in the processing time storage unit 313 (S407).
- Equation 2 does not hold, that is, if Ti (t)> Pi (t) ⁇ D′i, the i-th content can be reproduced without interruption following the i ⁇ 1-th content. Indicates that it is impossible.
- the playback content table generation unit 311 changes the playback order of the content.
- the playback of the content c (i) is first inserted i + k (i) + 1-th in the content list (S408). If i + k (i) + 1-th content already exists, the subsequent content is reproduced following c (i).
- N is the total number of content lists, assuming that c (i) is not reproduced as the i-th content (S409).
- k (i) represents the position after changing the playback order of the content c (i).
- P (i) and R (i) are determined according to the processing from S402 to S409 in the changed playback order, or the playback order is changed again. After these processes are completed, 1 is added to i to process the next content in the content list (S410).
- the script shaping unit 314 generates the script 1003 when the reproduction content table generation unit 311 stores the distribution request time and the reproduction start time of all the contents included in the content list in the processing time storage unit (S411).
- FIG. 5 schematically shows processing for determining the distribution request time and the reproduction start time of the third content along the time axis.
- the distribution request time and the reproduction start time of the second content up to the second have already been determined, and the determined distribution request time and the reproduction start time are stored in the processing time storage unit 313.
- the distribution situation used for calculating the distribution available time is assumed to be the maximum content simultaneous distribution number of the server 10 and the maximum simultaneous distribution number is 2. Therefore, in the following example, it is assumed that the distribution request for the first content and the next content is issued simultaneously in consideration of the maximum number of simultaneous distributions.
- the thick solid arrows in Fig. 5 indicate the playback time of each content.
- the time at the base of the i-th arrow represents the playback start time Pi (t), and the time after the arrow represents the playback end time Ei (t).
- a thick dotted arrow represents the download time Di of each content.
- a thin dotted line arrow represents the reproducible data amount download time D'i of each content.
- the root time of the i-th thin dotted arrow is the distribution request time Ri (t).
- the playback start time P3 (t) of the third content is a time obtained by adding the switching time g to the playback end time E2 (t) of the second content.
- the terminal In order to start playback of the third content at P3 (t), the terminal needs to request the server to deliver the third content by time P3 (t) -D'3. In order to check whether or not the server can deliver the content at time P3 (t) -D'3, a delivery possible time is calculated.
- the server can deliver the third content after the first content has been delivered. Therefore, the content distribution available time Ti (t) of the third content is the end time of D1, as shown in FIG.
- the server can deliver the third content at time P3 (t) ⁇ D′3. ing. Therefore, it is predicted that the third content can be reproduced without interruption following the second content.
- the distribution request time R3 (t) is determined to be any timing within the range indicated by the arrow R3 (t) in FIG.
- Example 2 of FIG. 5 since R1 (t) + D1> P3 (t) ⁇ D′3, the server is not ready to deliver the third content at time P3 (t) ⁇ D′3. . Therefore, it is predicted that the third content cannot be reproduced without interruption following the second content.
- the content reproduction end time and the content reproduction start time to be reproduced next are determined based on the content distributable time included in the content list and the content download time.
- the distribution request time and reproduction start time of each content are determined so as to approximate. Accordingly, the content can be reproduced without interruption at the terminal that reproduces the content, and the processing load on the server and the terminal can be reduced.
- the distribution request time Ri (t) is determined so that Ri (t) ⁇ Pi (t) ⁇ D′i without considering the distribution possible time Ti (t). May be.
- FIG. 6 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the content distribution system according to the third embodiment of the present invention.
- the terminal 20 further includes a reproduction state acquisition unit 204.
- the playback state acquisition unit 204 acquires the playback state of the content data in the terminal 20 during playback of the content according to the script generated by the script generation unit 302, and provides the playback list information 2003 based on the acquired playback state. To the unit 30.
