Definitions
- the present invention relates to an illumination display method and an illumination display device, and more particularly, an illumination display method for illuminating and displaying various characters such as kanji, katakana, English characters, numbers, figures, symbols, etc. using a plurality of point light sources. And an illumination display device.
- LEDs light emitting diodes
- various signs, interior lighting, LEDs are also used as light sources for illumination of traffic signs, information boards, and the like.
- LEDs have characteristics such as extremely high energy efficiency, long lifetime of LED elements, and low power consumption. Since it has the merit that it can be mounted in a space, it is expected to further expand its applications.
- Patent Document 1 describes a surface illumination light source device 30 that illuminates and displays characters using a plurality of LEDs, as shown in FIG.
- the surface illumination light source device 30 displays, for example, an alphabetic letter A in a lighting manner, and includes a housing 31 having a letter A shape and a plurality of LEDs 32 arranged at a predetermined distance in the housing. And an optical reflection plate 34 that covers the opening of the housing, and a light diffusion plate 35 that is disposed to face the optical reflection plate at a predetermined distance.
- the plurality of LEDs 32 are partitioned by a partition wall 36 in the housing.
- the optical reflection plate 34 has a central reflection portion having a high light reflectance in a region corresponding to the periphery of the optical axis of the LED, and an outer reflection portion in which the light reflectance decreases as the distance from the central reflection portion increases.
- the emitted light is illuminated in a substantially uniform manner.
- alphabet letter A can be illuminated and displayed using a plurality of LEDs.
- this character A it is necessary to produce a surface illumination light source device corresponding to this character. Therefore, when a character other than the character A is to be displayed in an illuminated manner, it corresponds to another character.
- Each surface illumination light source device is required. That is, in order to display various characters, a surface illumination light source device corresponding to each character is required.
- various characters have various types and quantities depending on the characters displayed at that time, and thus various surface illumination light source devices are required. It is not realistic to prepare these various types of surface illumination light source devices in advance, and inevitably custom-made production is required depending on the needs of the characters to be displayed. In custom-made production, production is performed after an order is received, so mass production cannot be performed, which results in poor productivity and high cost.
- this character display requires a surface illumination light source device corresponding to each character, it cannot be applied to a wide variety of illumination displays, takes man-hours for installation, and has a high degree of freedom in display.
- the surface illumination light source device disclosed in Patent Document 1 displays characters A in an illuminated manner, but displays other characters, such as katakana, kanji, or figures, symbols, etc. other than characters.
- a corresponding surface illumination light source device is required.
- the present inventors examined how the above-described problems of conventional surface illumination light source devices can be solved.
- the lighting device of the letter A since only the LED is a common component and the other components are different from those constituting the device, the lighting device is made up of parts having the same structure, that is, a light source unit. It has been found that if at least one set is divided and subdivided, the same set of light source units can share components. In this division / subdivision, if other characters are divided / subdivided in the same manner, parts can be shared among other different characters. The present invention has been made based on this finding.

- the light diffusing plate includes a lid cover that covers the opening of the case such as the characters, and the opening is sealed with the lid cover.
- the illumination display device of the present invention since the opening of the case of characters and the like is sealed with the lid cover, it prevents an unnecessary matter such as insects and dust from entering the illumination display device, thereby reducing the illumination quality. Can be prevented. Moreover, it becomes possible to make it waterproof by sealing waterproof.
- the optical reflector is a central reflection having a high light reflectance and a low light transmittance within a predetermined range centered on the optical axis of the point light source at a predetermined distance from the point light source. It is preferable to have an outer reflection portion in which the light reflectance gradually decreases as the distance from the periphery of this portion and the central reflection portion decreases while the light transmittance increases.
- substantially uniform illumination light is emitted from the optical reflector even when a point light source with high directivity is used.

The opening is formed in a size that closes the opening of the character frame case 13.
- the lid cap 14 is formed of a light diffusing member, for example, a synthetic resin material such as acrylic, and is integrally formed.
- the lid cap 14 is entirely formed of a light diffusing member, but the ceiling plate portion 12a may be formed of a light diffusing member.
- This illumination display device 10 ⁇ / b> A has the same functions and effects as the illumination display device 10.
- a rectangular parallelepiped type and a bent angle type light source unit are used.
- the present invention is not limited to these, and light source units having various shapes such as a curved type can be used according to characters to be displayed.

Abstract
