Definitions

  • the invention relates to a filter according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such filters are known in practice. They are used, for example, as a fuel filter in the fuel system of a diesel internal combustion engine.
  • Housing or the lid are provided, cause comparatively high resistance forces when these two filter cartridges are to be removed from the filter. Since the filter cartridges are contaminated with fuel and the contaminants retained by the filter during maintenance, it is undesirable to grasp the filter cartridges by hand and pull them out of the filter housing.
  • the object of the invention is to improve a generic filter in such a way that, when unscrewing the lid, it also makes it possible to automatically remove the two filter cartridges from the housing as well.
  • the invention proposes to take the lid captive with one of the two filter cartridges, in other words to be connected such that during a movement of the lid the relevant filter insert is taken.
  • this connection is firstly provided with respect to a rotational movement of the cover, so that upon release of the cover this filter insert is driven in the direction of rotation, and secondly with respect to an axial movement of the cover: if by the thread during the rotary movement of the cover an axial movement of the cover is effected, the filter insert connected to the lid is also taken in the axial direction of the lid and moved accordingly axially.
