Abstract

본 발명은 양쪽 또는 사방의 모서리부에 트리밍부가 형성된 파우치형 케이스 및 이를 포함하는 전지팩에 대한 것으로, 파우치형 케이스의 각 모서리부에 전극조립체 수납부가 위치하는 안쪽으로 만입되도록 트리밍(trimming)부를 형성함으로써, 단위면적을 작게하여 전지팩 조립시 전지에 인가되는 일정 압력을 상대적으로 크게 할 수 있도록 하여 전지팩 조립시 조립이 용이하고 단위면적당 전지 용량을 증가시킬수 있으며, 전지팩에서의 단위 전지셀들의 고정이 보다 안정적일 수 있는 모서리부가 트리밍 된 파우치형 케이스 및 이를 포함하는 전지팩에 대한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 파우치형 케이스는 단위면적을 작게 하여 팩조립시 인가되는 압력에 대해 상대적으로 많은 수의 전지를 포함할 수 있도록 하여 전지의 용량을 증가됨은 물론, 팩 조립시 원형의 지지대 등의 삽입이 용이하도록 하여 단위 전지 셀들이 전지팩 내에서 보다 안정적으로 고정될 수 있도록 하여 안전성면에서 우수하며, 전지 팩의 조립이 용이하도록 하는 효과를 제공한다.
