  • Conference calls may be audio only, or a combination of audio, video and in some cases other media.
  • An administrator may set up a conference call with a conference call service.
  • Each participant in the conference call is provided with, typically, a telephone number to access the conference call service and a password or identification number that must be entered before they can join the conference call.
  • the administrator first dials in to the conference call service to set up the conference call.
  • the conference call is provided using a conference bridge, which links telephone lines. Once the administrator has initiated the conference call, the other participants can then dial the provided number, enter their password or identification number, and access the conference call.

  • the duration of the group may be predetermined by the person setting up the group. For example, a family group might wish to use the group for many conference calls over a long period of time. Alternatively, the group may only have a duration of a day, for example where Alice is organising a one-off party. If a group of friends is going on vacation , the group may have a duration of the length of the vacation.
  • the AS 7 is provided with a receiver 9 for receiving a request from a group member such as Alice or Bob to establish a conference call.
  • the request may be sent by, for example, dial-in, "click to dial” via the Web Server 6, or SMS message.
  • a processor 10 determines the group members and identifying information for the group members, and a conference call establishment unit 1 1 establishes the conference call between the group members by establishing a communication session with each group member using the identifying information and linking the established communication sessions to establish the conference call.

  • a processor 19 is provided for creating the group as a result of instructions received via the user input device 18, and a transmitter 20 is provided for sending to a Web Server the conference call group, such that the Web Server can forward the conference call group to a conference call Application Server.
  • a further transmitter 21 may also be provided for sending a request to establish the call if the node is, for example, a Web-enabled smart phone that can be used to both populate the list and establish a conference call.
  • a memory 22 may be provided the group information 23. The memory 22 is in the form of a computer readable medium, and may also be used to store a computer program 24 that is executable by the processor 10.

  • the AS 7 communicates with an IMS Core network 28 via an Isc (I MS service controiySIP interface, and the IMS Core network 28 communicates with the terminals 1 , 3, 4, 5 via a SIP interface.
  • the VAS AS 25 communicates with the Conf AS 26 and the MMTel AS 27 via an Http/ParlayX interface, and the Web Server 6 and the SMSC 8 each communicate with the VAS AS 25 via an Http/RESTful interface (an Http interface that conforms to REST constraints).

Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système pour l'établissement d'une conférence téléphonique dans un réseau de communication. Selon l'invention, un serveur d'applications reçoit des informations de groupe, les informations de groupe comprenant des informations qui identifient chaque membre du groupe. Le serveur d'applications reçoit, d'un membre du groupe, une demande d'établissement d'une conférence téléphonique avec les membres du groupe ; en réponse, il établit une session de communication avec chaque membre du groupe en utilisant les informations qui identifient chaque membre du groupe ; enfin, il relie les sessions de communication établies de manière à établir une conférence téléphonique entre les membres du groupe.
