Abstract

La présente invention concerne un appareil destiné à la ségrégation de particules en se basant sur leur capacité à circuler à travers une voie de passage étagée. Au moins une partie des particules sont disposées dans un passage lié à un premier étage, mais au moins une partie des particules ne sont pas capables de passer à travers un passage plus petit lié à un second étage, résultant en la ségrégation des particules. Les appareils et procédés décrits ici peuvent être utilisés dans la ségrégation de particules d'une grande variété de types. A titre d'exemple, ils peuvent être utilisés dans la ségrégation de cellules de type fœtales provenant d'un échantillon de sang maternel tel que du sang artériel maternel.
